Greetings Smogon Comunity.
After a long time not playing pokemon, I'm now back and getting used to XY.
As I'm still not 100% familiar, I decided to start a team with some previous cores I had, and it is going quite well, although I think I need some changes. So, without further or due, let's get started.
As I'm still not 100% familiar, I decided to start a team with some previous cores I had, and it is going quite well, although I think I need some changes. So, without further or due, let's get started.

To start things off, after a bit of search, I realized sort of how the metagame worked (no more fightning dominance, wooh). With that in mind, I started the team with a tanky Heatran, a favorite of mines since the DP era. Even with the steel nerf, the number of resistances is ridiculously good, and now without as many fightning types as before, he can still be godly epic.

And of course, what is a Heatran without his partner of crime, Celebi? The Celetran combo is back, protecting each one and the whole team so nicely, it makes me a smile on my face, and making it my favorite duo core.

Unfortunately, the Celetran isn't as good as before. There are many threats that are a problem to them, the most notable being Crawdant, Pinsir and Greninja. With that in mind, I bring another DP pearl: a defensive Rotom-w. And with this I complete the FWG core.

Who is a DP lover that doesn't add scizor on a team who has rotom-w? Another duo core is created, granting powerful Volt-Turn switches and pursuit traps for those damn psychic and ghost types.

To bring some knightmare to knock offers and physical set uppers, I chose the g'old toxic stall gliscor. After the toxic orb acts on him, he doesn't care about the item no longer. And the toxic stall is just a priceless rage-quiters move, so ill go on to it.

The 6th member gave me much to think about. I know I needed a fast revenge killer, but I also needed someone to remove the hazards with so much volt-turn I would be doing. But what spinner is also a revenge killer? Oh wait, DEFOG REMOVES HAZARDS? AND LATIOS HAS IT? PRAISE THE 6TH GEN. With this I thought I had a pretty good team, a 4th gen team, ready to own the 6th gen users. But so I thought....

Although it gave so many rage quiters early on, the fact is that, as I climbed the ladder (pretty well, I was going 25 3 before noticing this), I started to notice some worthier players that would deal with my gliscor with ease. There were just too many threats on him. Sub isn't as good as it was before, thanks to all this hyper offense. Even with knock off instead of sub, which was pretty good, there were many counters: Mega evolutions laugh at knock off, clefable and venasaur laugh at toxic and EQ, pinsir can almost OHKO gliscor. Worst part is, my heatran is way too good on this team (what, is that bad?). Yes it kind of is. It can make things a bit too predictable. Since I couldn't lose my heatran no matter what, I decided to step in the gen 6, and bring my fairy umbreon! Sylveon is a pain to dragon types and some dark types, the last being a real threat to my team. Furthermore, the Wish passing on heatran is so ridiculous good, since he lacks recovery moves. An i kept heal bell to heal some annoying stats, like wow on scizor, or para on latios.

This was the saddest part for me: the moment i realize that Celetran is quite dead. The dark type is just too dominant, plus the pursuit trapping gave nightmares to my celebi and the u-turners were just laughing at him, since that i needed a switch, and they u-turn, they always kept advantage. With this in mind, plus the fact that I had 0 knock off aborbers so far, I took my 2nd step to gen 6, and created a new duo-core: Venatran. His defenses are so high, and the poison move onto fairy types is quite useful. Furthermore, it has recovery and, with thick fat, it's pretty annoying to counter an incoming wish. This is my favorite core of gen 6.

At this point, I was already around 1550, when i noticed the almost omnipresence of a pursuit trapper on the enemy team. Latios was becoming a bit useless, plus most of the tanky pokemons dealed latios with ease. Dragon and psychic types get too easy absorbed by the likes of the common tanks (slowbro, sylveon, even chansey laughs at psyshock). To avoid that all, I brought gengar. (BUT WAIT, DIDN'T YOU SAID THAT PURSUIT TRAPPERS WHERE ANNOYING?) Yes I did, and thats why gengar is the perfect fit. If you pack him with substitute, not only will you be able to 2hko the majority of pursuit users, but you can also counter bisharp if predicted well. You are faster than him and you can OHKO with HP fight, and he knows that. He has to sucker punch, where you laugh and put a substitute on his face.

Although all was going well, gengar lacked the ability to OHKO most threats. As such, and to compensate for the lack of entry hazards removal, I brought Greninja: the 100%stab on all moves is great, and the spike changing him to ground types makes me laugh at the volt switches of rotom and others. Not only that, but with the rocks of heatran and spikes of greninja, my volt turn became even better, since I force them to keep switching.
So this ends the team building (for now).
Still I think something is lacking at this team, and I wanted you to help me out in this matter, if it is okay with you :).

Oh the SPDef heatran. Eating all the special moves on him. The EVs on him are meant to outspeed other Roar Heatrans and eat as much SP attacks as posible. I needed a stealth rocker on the team, and Heatran does it pretty well. The lava plume is always a must on a tanky heatran, and the roar is a way to troll non-taunter set uppers. As last move, I had earth power to counter heatrans, but soon I realized that I faced more problems with the fairy types than to heatrans (not to mention most heatrans carry baloon). The leftovers are there, cause I dislike baloon. I got rotom and venasaur to tank the earth moves. Air baloon is easily counterable and leftovers are too precious on a non recoverymove tank.

The new celebi does his job tremendously well. It has only a few weaknesses, and 2 of them are null, thanks to the new Thick fat. As such, it only fears psyhic and fly attacks, which are not dat common. Giga Drain and Synthesis are a must for recovery, since it lacks leftovers. SludgeBomb is a good fairy counter, and it has 30% poison, which can be pretty handy. Last spot I tend to change. HP fire is very good vs steel types. But since it lacks so much power, i prefer most of the times to go leech seed, and it grants me a safe move when I know that they will be switching.

Last, revenge killing like a hemarroid ninja that he is, comes Greninja Zenzou. This is guy is an epic revenge killer, which has stab in all his moves, but I love him more for the reason of changing types on spikes. It's a complete troller with the type change and an awesome early and late gamer.
For now, that's it! Don't got much time, but as soon as posible, i'll put a list of threats, which already consist in, mainly so far, venusaur with EQ, mega-pinsir, SD lucario and medicham-mega.
Will appreciate every critic you put into.
Best regards,
