NU Duraludon

[OVERVIEW]

Duraludon's wallbreaking capabilities are defined by its excellent coverage, which makes it a great Expert Belt user. Thanks to Duraludon's good Speed and Draco Meteor + Eject Pack combo, it's also able to act as a decent one-time pivot and wallbreaker. Even in unfavorable matchups against walls it can't get past alone, Duraludon is still able to safely make progress against Copperajah, Vaporeon, and Escavalier. Its serviceable physical bulk and Steel typing allow it to switch into the likes of Talonflame, Ninjask, and bulky Poison-types. However, Duraludon has very poor Special Defense, making it very vulnerable to faster special attackers such as Salazzle, Starmie, and Volt Switch users. Duraludon also faces large competition with other Dragon- and Steel-type wallbreakers like Goodra and Copperajah. Additionally, Duraludon is unable to properly check Pokemon a typical Dragon- or Steel-type would check, such as Rotom-C, Exploud, Sylveon, and more, leading to its team requiring type stacking and more compensation.

When boosted by Expert Belt, Dark Pulse 2HKOes Bronzong. Thunderbolt targets Water- and Flying-type walls like Vaporeon, Talonflame, and Mantine, and Duraludon's bulk and typing let it switch into such foes and beat them one-on-one. A Modest nature is necessary to 2HKO Bronzong and have a chance to 2HKO Vaporeon, though a Timid nature with entry hazard support can also achieve these benchmarks.

Physical attackers like Drapion, Sirfetch'd, and Passimian can break through special walls like Copperajah and Escavalier that Duraludon struggles with. Their Knock Off support is also crucial so that walls like Vaporeon and Mudsdale are worn down enough to be threatened by Duraludon. In return, they rely on Duraludon as a switch-in to walls like Talonflame and Vileplume. Pivots like Rotom-C, Xatu, and Heliolisk work well to bring Duraludon in safely against the likes of Dragalge, Guzzlord, and Diancie. After a Draco Meteor, Duraludon is susceptible to setup sweepers, so make sure to have a good revenge killer saved; Heliolisk and Passimian are good Choice Scarf users, and priority from Sirfetch'd and Toxicroak also works.

Eject Pack allows Duraludon to gain momentum for its teammates, oftentimes after claiming a KO. Dark Pulse hits Pokemon such as Bronzong and Starmie for good damage, lessening the need to use Draco Meteor, while Body Press hits Copperajah, helping teammates such as Blastoise sweep later on. Duraludon's good matchup against common entry hazard removal options like Talonflame and Xatu makes it a decent Stealth Rock setter. Alternatively, Thunderbolt can be used to better pressure bulky Water-types such as Vaporeon and Mantine. A Timid nature is preferred to outspeed base 80s such as Braviary and tie at worst with Toxicroak.

Fighting-types such as Toxicroak and Sirfetch'd take advantage of Duraludon's checks such as Copperajah, Vaporeon, and Escavalier. They are also able to weaken and pressure shared checks in Mudsdale and Bronzong. In return, Duraludon is able to threaten bulky Poison-types such as Garbodor, Vileplume, and Dragalge. Duraludon is easily revenge killed and chunked by faster special attackers such as Salazzle, Starmie, and Electric-types, and unable to properly check Fire- and Fairy-types. Pokemon such as Diancie and Heatproof Bronzong pair nicely with Duraludon as a result. Diancie and Bronzong appreciate the extra protection against Pokemon like Decidueye, Heavy Slam Guzzlord, and bulky Poison-types. In addition, they benefit from Duraludon running Stealth Rock, allowing them to use other sets.

Choice Specs can be used to increase Duraludon's already decent wallbreaking power, scoring more OHKOs and 2HKOing Pokemon such as Vaporeon and Bronzong. Choice Specs Duraludon is more prediction reliant, however, than Expert Belt variants.

While more matchup dependent, Iron Defense + Body Press Duraludon can serve as a usable sweeper. It's able to use its decent bulk and Steel typing to set up on non-Body Press Bronzong, Copperajah, and other passive Pokemon. It also has more longevity utilizing Leftovers, allowing it to better answer Pokemon like Ninjask long-term.

Checks and Counters
====

**Bulky Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Copperajah and Escavalier can tank multiple hits and threaten heavy damage, while Bronzong can avoid a 2HKO and threaten back with devastating Body Press.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Unless it gets very favorable damage rolls with Thunderbolt, Vaporeon has a chance to PP stall Duraludon and win one-on-one. Snorlax has the raw bulk to handle any attack from Duraludon and KO it with Earthquake. Scrafty can use Duraludon as setup fodder with Bulk Up.

**Special Attackers**: Special attackers such as Salazzle, Heliolisk, Rotom-C, and Starmie are all able to OHKO or heavily chunk Duraludon with their resisted attacks.

Thanks to Duraludon's Steel-typing, high Special Attack and good Speed, it's able to act as a decent one-time pivot and wallbreaker. Its serviceable physical bulk and Steel-typing allow it to switch into the likes of Talonflame, Ninjask, and bulky Poison types, with the consumption of Eject Pack allowing it to better handle Poltergeist and Knock-Off users. Even in unfavorable matchups against bulkier walls, Duraludon is still able to make progress thanks to the combination of Eject Pack and Draco Meteor.(I think it'd be good to note here or somewhere else in the Overview how Eject Pack Duraludon prevents momentum loss against its hardest checks/counters and is good at supporting the wallbreakers that take advantage of its switch-ins.) However, Duraludon has very poor Special Defence, making it very vulnerable to faster Special Attackers such as Salazzle, Celebi and Volt Switch users. Duraludon also faces slight (Definitely more than just "slight" competition.) competition as a Dragon and Steel type wallbreaker with Goodra and Copperajah respectively. (It's worth noting that Duraludon is unable to make use of the typical resistances you'd gain from having a Steel- or Dragon-type on your team. It can't reliably check Fairy- or Fire-types, which leads to some heavy compensation being needed in the builder.)

Eject Pack allows Duraludon to gain momentum for its teammates, oftentimes after claiming a kill or after bailing on a bulky Steel or Water-type. Stealth Rocks allow Duraladon to chip and ware down the opposing team. Threatening common hazard removal and deterrents such as Xatu, Dhelmise and Talonflame. Alternitevely, thunderbolt can be used to better pressure bulky Water-types such as Vaporeon and Mantine. (I think you need to check here for typos. You can cut that first Stealth Rock sentence out as is anyway and just note that Duraludon's good matchup against common removal options makes it a fine option to set the hazard.) Timid is preferred to outspeed potentially problematic Pokemon such as Toxicroak (You still risk a Speed tie with Toxicroak, so reword to reflect that.) and base 80's such as Braviary.

Fighting-types such as Toxicroak and Sirfetch'd are able to take advantage of Duraludon's checks such as Copperajah, Vaporeon and Escavalier. They are also able to weaken and pressure shared checks in Mudsdale and Bronzong. In return, Duraludon is able to threaten the bulky Poison-types such as Garbodor, Vileplume and Weezing that might otherwise be problematic for the Fighting-types. Duraludon is easily revenge killed by faster Special Attackers such as Salazzle, Celebi, with Electric-types such as Rotom-C and Heliolisk able to chunk away at its health. As a result, Pokemon such as Guzzlord, Bronzong and Mudsdale make for a good pairing, appreciating Duraludon's offensive pressure and defensive utility with regards to Mudsdale. (To go back to my last Overview comment, maybe make note down here of Duraludon's defensive shortcomings typing-wise and what some options are to pair with it as a result. Diancie and Sylveon come to mind.)

Choice Specs can be used to increase Duraludon's already decent wallbreaking powers, scoring more OHKOs and landing the two hit KO on Pokemon such as Vaporeon and Bronzong. Choice Specs Duraludon is more prediction reliant, however, and lacks the utility of Eject Pack. (Iron Defense is fine enough to put down here. It's worse than Bronzong and less effective than it was in its heyday, but you can still somewhat effectively fish for matchup with it, and having Leftovers recovery can be nice if you need Duraludon for something like Ninjask long-term.)

Checks and Counters
====

**Bulky Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Copperajah and Escavalier can tank multiple hits and threaten with heavy damage back. While Pokemon such as Bronzong can avoid the two hit KO and can threaten back with a devastating Body Press.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially Defensive variants of Vaporeon and Sylveon are able to stomach Duraludon's attacks from full, and can beat Duraludon with the combination of Wish and their STABS.

**Special Attckers**: Special Attackers such as Salazzle, Celebi, Heliolisk, Rotom-C and Starmie are all able to either OHKO Duraludon or are able to heavily chunk it with their resisted attacks.

[OVERVIEW]

Thanks to Duraludon's Steel-typing, high Special Attack and good Speed and Draco Meteor + Eject Pack combo, it's able to act as a decent one-time pivot and wallbreaker (Stats really aren't mentioned in the overview besides Speed, and idk what its Steel-typing has to do with pivoting or wallbreaking. Instead, I kept the Speed mention and added the combo; you write about its typing in the next sentence so there's no need to mention it here if it leads to nothing within the point you're trying to make.) . Its serviceable physical bulk and Steel-typing allow it to switch into the likes of Talonflame, Ninjask, (comma) and bulky Poison-types (hyphen), with the consumption of Eject Pack allowing it to better handle Poltergeist and Knock-Off users. Even in unfavorable matchups against bulkier walls, Duraludon is still able to safely make progress thanks to the combination of Eject Pack and Draco Meteor. Preventing momentum loss against some of its hardest checks such as against Copperajah, Vaporeon, (comma) and Escavalier. (This point should follow the first sentence as it's still mentioning the offensive-pivoting aspect of Dura. It would also make sense as you finish the pros of Dura with its defensive typing, then bridging into the cons of its bulk) However, Duraludon has very poor Special Defense, making it very vulnerable to faster special attackers (only capitalized when directly referencing the stat, not for general special or physical attackers) such as Salazzle, Celebi, (comma) and Volt Switch users. Duraludon also faces large competition as a Dragon and Steel type wallbreaker with other Dragon- and Steel-type wallbreakers like Goodra and Copperajah respectively (I'm still a little confused about this point but if you're trying to say that Goodra + Copperajah are more viable wallbreakers with similar typings + coverage, then I'd leave it at that.). Additionally, Duraludon is unable to properly check the things a traditional Dragon or Steel-type would check, (like what? I think you're referencing mons like Rotom-C and Exploud, and I'd directly mention them. This would help imply why it has competition with Goodra and Copper) leading to type stacking and or more compensation in the builder.

Also, personally, I prefer Body Press over Dark Pulse as coverage for Copper, so if not a slash, then at least a mention at the end here. Really it just depends if the team needs Dura to lure either Bronz or Copper with pulse or press, and I find HO's want Copper chipped for Toise more than then need Bronz to be targeted)

Fighting-types such as Toxicroak and Sirfetch'd are able to take advantage of Duraludon's checks such as Copperajah, Vaporeon, (comma) and Escavalier. They are also able to weaken and pressure shared checks in Mudsdale and Bronzong. Duraludon is also unable to properly take advantage of its Dragon or Steel-typing Dragon / Steel (this is how dual typings are written according to GP) to check Fire or Fire- and Fairy-types. Pokemon such as Diancie and Heatproof Bronzong are able to pair nicely with Duraludon as a result. Diancie appreciates the extra protection against Grass and Water-types (What Grass and Water Pokemon did you have in mind? The problem here is that dura is checked by Vapo, dies to Blastoise and Starmie, and you mentioned how Electric-types are a big issue too so Mowtom doesn't fit. The point I'm getting at is that mentioning these typings directly could be missleading; I'd instead mention specific examples like Decidueye), and can help Duraludon in the Fire- (hyphen) and Dragon-type matchups it's vulnerable against. Bronzong similarly can also act as a good pairing with Duraludon, able to utilize other sets without Stealth Rocks taking up a moveslot.

I'll give this one more look before going to GP. Of which, keep in mind some of the more basic GP conventions when it comes to comas in lists of three or more, hyphens, and typings. I tried to fix a lot here and explain why, and you can also keep this open when writing analysis if you're unsure how to type something formally.
Let me know if you have any questions and feel free to ping me whenever you finish these changes!

Diancie and Bronzong appreciate the extra protection against Pokemon like Decidueye, Heavy Slam Guzzlord, and bulky Poison-types and helps Duraludon in the Fire- and Dragon-type matchups.

Choice Specs Duraludon is more prediction reliant, however, and lacks the utility of Eject Pack.

While more matchup fishy dependent, Iron Defense + Body Press Duraludon can still serve as a usable wincon sweeper. It's able to use its decent bulk and Steel typing to set up on non-Body Press Bronzong, Copperajah, and other passive Pokemon. It also has more longevity utilizing Leftovers, allowing it to better answer Pokemon like Ninjask long-term.

Checks and Counters
====

**Bulky Steel-types**: Bulky Steel-types such as Copperajah and Escavalier can tank multiple hits and threaten heavy damage, while Bronzong can avoid the a 2HKO and threaten back with a devastating Body Press.

**Specially Defensive Pokemon**: Specially defensive variants of Vaporeon and Sylveon are able to stomach Duraludon's attacks from full when healthy and beat it with the combination of Wish and their STAB attacks.

**Special Attackers**: Special attackers such as Salazzle, Heliolisk, Rotom-C, and Starmie are all able to OHKO Duraludon or heavily chunk it Duraludon with their resisted attacks.
