move 2: Superpower
move 3: First Impression / Stone Edge
move 4: Thunder Fang / Stone Edge
item: Life Orb / Focus Sash
ability: Hustle
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

[SET DETAILS]
Durant is one of the best Dynamax sweepers due to its ability Hustle perfectly synergizing with Max Moves' perfect accuracy. In combination with Life Orb’s power boost, Durant is able to KO many threats even with its neutral coverage. Because of its already high damage output, a Jolly nature allows it to outspeed most of the metagame, but notably excluding Choice Scarf users, Cinderace and Dragapult.

Iron Head is Durant's main STAB attack and allows Life Orb Durant to OHKO Pokemon such as bulk-invested Dynamax Togekiss. Max Steelspike's Defense boost makes Durant almost impossible to quickly KO with physical attacks, with the exception of Fire-type coverage. Superpower allows Durant to gain Attack boosts with Max Knuckle, which is recommended for finishing off Pokemon. Durant's other two moves are flexible, depending on team need. Thunder Fang can hit Toxapex well and ensure Corviknight cannot set up safely. First Impression is a priority STAB move that allows Durant to revenge kill many threats. When using Max Flutterby, Durant can also regain its ability to use Bug coverage after the first turn. Durant can run Stone Edge to cleanly beat non-Choice Scarf Rotom-H, which can easily fight off the other move options. Stomping Tantrum lets Durant bait in and heavily damage traditional checks such as Aegislash and grants a Special Defense boost with Max Quake, but it has limited targets in comparison to the other move choices.

Durant excels with dual screens support, as it does not need any turns to set up and is relatively frail. Under Light Screen and Reflect, Durant can even take some Fire-type attacks. As a result, Grimmsnarl is one of its most common teammates. Checks for Aegislash and Toxapex, such as Rotom-H and Assault Vest Arcanine, are greatly appreciated by Durant; the aforementioned examples are also able to cleanly tank Fire-type moves. It is helpful to get Durant in without taking damage, as it has questionable bulk and most often uses Life Orb, which has notable recoil damage, so slow pivots like Rotom-W and Eject Button Grimmsnarl are particularly helpful teammates. Type: Null is another notable partner in this regard, granting an excellent slow U-turn while also helping cripple faster Pokemon such as Dragapult with Icy Wind or Thunder Wave.

Is first impression really good? I am kind of disappointed by how little it hits as so much of the metagame resists Bug. Iron Head, Superpower and Stone Edge all seem super mandatory almost, so I think that First Impression even if it's to be slashed at all, should be the 4th slash combined with Stomping Tantrum and Thunder Fang. Otherwise, it seems good.

Mention that Iron Head is strong enough to one-shot a Dynamax Togekiss with bulk investment.

I personally like it to revenge kill many fast/scarf threats that beat Durant, such as Hydreigon, Darmanitan, and even weakened Dragapult/Sand Rush Excadrill/Cinderace/Gyarados. It deals over 40% to each of these resisting Pokemon, thats impossible to discount in a lot of situations. I could slash it, but I personally think it should be a top option.

Togekiss comment has been included.

Alright this is next on my to check list!

-I'd mention for Stone Edge, that it hits Fire-types hard in general, since Arcanine and Charizard are targets too.

-I'd legit actually make Thunder Fang the first slash in, and First Impression the 2nd. It's mostly because Corviknight can actually beat you if you don't have Thunder Fang, and that's a HUGE bummer since a lot of teams with Durant have a mode heavily based around it sweeping, and Corviknight will be by far the greatest problem if you don't use Thunder Fang. Generally, if you're gonna use Grimmsnarl support, this is why the team that got to the #1 spot with it used Thunderfang: you don't want Corviknight making that work go to waste! It does mean that you have a worse match-up vs Quagsire, but thats usually easier to play around than Corviknight, especially since Quagisre is almost exclusively used on semi stall, while Corviknight is on plenty of other teams.

-That being said, for teams that aren't as hellbent on supporting Durant with dual screens, I think the other two options are still fine, with First Impression in particular being argubly better vs offensive teams. And like I said earlier, if you're not basing your whole team around the Durant set up, hitting Quagsire harder might be more important than Corviknight.

Otherwise, this seems good to me, QC Approved 1/2!

Its been a while since we’ve touched this, but Ive seen a lot more First Impression. Looking at Nouthuca, this notion is pretty well supported. Im thinking about altering the attacking slashes to as follows

Iron head
Superpower
First Impression/Stone Edge
Thunder Fang/Stone Edge

Havent really seen Stomping Tantrum at all, so that would probably be dropped.

In combination with Life Orb’s power boost, Durant is able to KO many threats even with neutral coverage. Because of its already high damage output, a Jolly nature allows it to outspeed most of the metagame, excluding Choice Scarf users, Cinderace and Dragapult.

Iron Head is its main STAB, and with a Max Steelspike Defense boost, makes Durant almost impossible to quickly KO with physical attacks, with the exception of Fire-type coverage. It is Durant's most consistent STAB move, allowing it to even OHKO even bulk invested Togekiss with a Life Orb boost. Superpower allows you to gain Attack boosts whilst in Dynamax forme, (dynamax isn't a forme change) and is recommended for finishing off Pokemon to make Durant even harder to wall afterwards. The last two move slots are flexible, depending on team need. Thunder Fang is a move option that can hit Toxapex well and ensure Corviknight cannot set-up safely. First Impression is a new addition to Durant’s movepool, allowing allows it to revenge kill many threats with its priority STAB move. attack. It can also regain its ability to be used after the first turn through Dynamax, allowing you to use its Max Move up to 3 times. Lastly, Durant can run Stone Edge to cleanly beat non-scarf Rotom-H, who can easily fight off the other move options.

It also helps to get Durant in without taking damage, as it has questionable bulk and most often uses Life Orb which has notable recoil damage, so slow pivots like Rotom-A or Eject Button on the aforementioned Grimmsnarl are particularly helpful teammates. Type: Null is another notable partner in this regard, granting an excellent slow U-turn while also helping cripple faster Pokemon such as Dragapult with Icy Wind or Thunder Wave.
