DW OU Team looking for some input!

Quick Intro:
So this team is my first real OU team and I’m trying to use it in game (only DW that is available). I think this team has a lot of potential in the fact it has a good mix of sweeper/wall. I’m open to any suggestions! Thanks in advance!

The team:

Further breakdown:

Mienshao (Naive)
@Life Orb
252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
-Hi Jump Kick
-U-Turn
-Hidden Power Ice
-Fake out

This Pokemon works as my starter to get an easy fake out to see what the opponent has. Then depending on what I see, can either hit for a really hard Hi Jump Kick or a HP Ice. Or run with a U-turn using his above average speed. He can be a little annoying against someone trying to setup with a hard hi jump kick/hp. The EV distribution puts a lot into attack to hit setups and the speed to help him out with getting an attack in, he's pretty soft. Life orb just adds to his damage output.

Reuniclus (Quiet)
@Life Orb
172 HP / 32 Def / 252 SpA / 52 SpD
-Trick Room
-Psychic
-Shadow Ball
-Focus Blast

Reuniclus is a pretty solid special sweeper, pushing out psychic, shadow ball, and focus blast with his base 125 SpA. If I'm against someone trying to setup or caught in a swap I'll trick room and get the next move off first. A lot of potential in this hard hitting special sweeper.

Ferrothorn (Sassy)
@Leftovers
252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
-Spikes
-Power Whip
-Gyro Ball
-Stealth Rocks

One of my new favorite walls, Ferrorthorn also acts as an annoying spikes/SR candidate. He can stick around for awhile with good typing and has leftovers to keep it going. His gyro ball and power whip work in a pinch against someone trying to taunt him. If this Pokemon survives a few turns (which he usually does) early, he can really win the match.

Nidoking (Timid)
@Life Orb
4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Earth Power
-Thunderbolt
-Ice Beam
-Flamethrower

My one DW Pokemon, the new ability works really well with Nidoking as a special sweeper. His Earth Power gets an awesome boost with STAB, and the other 3 all hit hard and cover a lot of typing. The speed EVs are to help with making sure he gets a hit in. Pretty average on all the other stats, you don't want another sweeper to just sit and unload on this Pokemon.

Haxorus (Adamant)
@Leftovers
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Protect
-Dragon Claw
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide

It goes without saying, Haxorus is one of the strongest OU Pokemon to come out of Gen V with a ridiculous Atk stat. I'm trying to decide between Dragon Claw and Outrage, I just feel like I'd want the choice to be able to protect and feel out the other Pokemon, or hit em with a really hard Earthquake/Rock Slide. The speeds helps edge out against a few other sweepers.

Metagross (Adamant)
@Choice Band
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
-Meteor Mash
-Hammer Arm
-Bullet Punch
-Pursuit

I wanted another physical sweeper that would help revenge kill (Bullet Punch) or just hit hard with Meteor Mash/Hammer Arm. Plus, if he comes out against another poke that's gonna swap out, hit em with a pursuit. The choice band helps it hit hard with the bullet punch or STAB meteor mash.

Let me know what you think!! Thanks again in advance

I'm just curious about Reuniclus with Trick Room. I'm guessing your goal is to keep Reuniclus in or switch to Metagross or Ferrothorn while its still up? Or is Trick Room really just a situational thing? I feel like Recover will be sorely missed.

And one just kind of nitpick thing, but could you write in what the abilities are? On most 'mons it usually goes without saying, but offhand I'm not sure what Nidoking's DW ability is.

Otherwise, the team looks pretty good! I can't see any obvious flaws on defence. Nice.

This team is weak to Excadrill, which can quite literally 6-0 your entire team at +2, which it can nab easily against Ferrothorn or Metagross locked into anything besides Hammer Arm.

To fix this I'd add Gliscor over Nidoking or Bronzong over Metagross, whichever you prefer. I'd also place Dragon Dance over Protect on Haxorus, because even with that base 147 Attack it's not threatening anything without some form of boost. Another option is using a Choice Band set, in which case you could just slap Outrage on over Protect.

I do want to note that it seems you've been taking VGC analyses for your sets, which do not always work for OU. You're usually going to be better off using sets written for OU.

Good luck.

yeah I could try it with recover, you're right on point with the meta/ferro switch. I think a lot of teams focus on speed and this might help me out.

Yeah sorry about that, Nidoking's is Sheer Force: raises the base power of all moves that have a secondary effect by 30%, but the secondary effects are ignored. So all those 4 moves get +30% more dmg.

Otherwise, the team looks pretty good! I can't see any obvious flaws on defence. Nice.

Thanks!

@TobesMcGobes
Yeah I was looking at a lot of VGC, and I'm working on getting Gliscor in my game as we speak (keep getting females grrr). Also, I'll try the dragon dance on the hax.

Thanks!
