Dynamax is obviously broken, but the idea behind the mechanic is fun and makes the game even more complex and gives the smarter player new possibilities to win against a better team.
Instead of completely banning it, I would prefer nerving it.
Possible nerves are:
Congruent with main games:
1. - Set dynamax level always to zero (so HP are only times 1.5). This is the easiest nerve and makes the most sense with the main game.
2. - Choice item users cant dynamax #choiceclause
3. - Ban certain attacks that lead to snowballing (like Max Airstream).
4. - Ban certain pokemon from dynamaxing. All the snowballers like Gyara and Hawlucha. Easy to do and gives other Pokemon a chance to shine.
Less congruent with main games:
4. - Status changes disappear after Dmax ends rd3. Stops snowballing.
5. - choice item users stay locked (after Dmaxing it still uses move from before or the corresponding Dmax move)
6. - Max moves do less damage against Protect etc.
7. - After Dmax ends round 3, user has to recharge 1 rd (similar to Hyper Beam). Stops snowballing.
8. - Dmax lowers speed while activated (because tall mons are usually slower). Stops snowballing.
9. - No Max moves/Max moves have no secondary effects. I dont like this one, but still better than complete ban
10. - Dmax only 1 or 2 rds.
11. - All stats get lowered after Dmax ends.
I like number 4 the most. The idea behind Dynamax is that your mon becomes a beast in these 3 rds and gets small and back to normal afterwards. It doesnt make sense that this huge monster just increases its stats and does the most work when its back to normal size. Also 5 (or 2) is necessary.
