Ttar Webs

Introduction

Yo, I don't really play gen 9 but I decided to create a team that abuses webs since the meta really favours webs this gen. Gholdengo + Tera mons are great at abusing webs since if the opponent makes 1 mistake your threats can just snowball out of control. I could've laddered with this team to high ladder but I really can't be bothered since gen 9 is a steaming pile of shit. Team is fun tho, bring tar back to ou.

Team Comp
Ribombee - #743 - Serebii.net Pokédex

Wings in Motion @ Focus Sash
Ability: Shield Dust
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Stun Spore

Psychic for Glimm, tera ghost for treads/ other niche spinners

Manaphy - #490 - Serebii.net Pokédex

Reality Surf @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tail Glow
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Energy Ball

Manaphy is really broken under webs and kinda mandatory. Amazing defensive utility with generic good defensive type and defensive stats. Tera fairy can't really be punished since even if anticipated, steel/poison coverage is harder to fit on teams. I found sucker resistance more valuable than grassy glide resistance since Ttar already has tera poison to lure rilla. Timid was chosen to beat opposing manaphy, outspeed more zap, outspeed tusk (if you somehow can't get the web on). This mon can sometimes outright win MUs when the web is up, especially vs offenses.

Keys to the City @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 148 HP / 144 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
- Psyshock

This was specs ghold in early versions, changed to a stallbreaker set since HO can struggle vs stall. Again, a self-explanatory mon and mandatory on webs.

248.png

Mean Girls @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Stream
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch

Yes, Ttar is not as good in this gen. However, I found HO DD tar to be really threatening since if you don't run into gambit/dozo you can get a lot of value out of this mon. Even if you do run into these mons, you can get a knock off, pivot into a shadow ball, get sand up to break sashes, or even bait a tera out of one of their mons which will help teammates. Tera poison is great since it beats val and clef, gives poison immunity, and resists grassy glide. Ice punch is the chosen filler move and could probably be changed to low kick or edge. I chose ice punch to OHKO gliscor without needing to tera whilst helping against tusk and ting-lu. Knock iss such a great buff for this mon, not only is it stronger than crunch and removes item, but it doesn't miss unlike edge meaning endgames involving ttar are way more consistent. Item choice went back and forth between AB, lum, and WP, but ultimately I chose AB mainly for the tspike immunity which helps vs glimm teams.

Ogerpon - #1017 - Serebii.net Pokédex

It Girl @ Cornerstone Mask
Ability: Sturdy
Tera Type: Rock
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Ivy Cudgel
- Horn Leech
- Knock Off
- Spikes

I wanted to add an ogerpon to this team, and decided in ogerpon rock. Unlike water it doesn't have great defensive utility, or so I thought. Sturdy is actually really important in testing since you can afford to let them setup knowing you have a sturdy mon in the back. This means ribombee can get up webs without fearing turn 1 setup as much or having to stun spore. Knock and spikes were chosen over SD since I wanted a hazard to hit mainly kingambit, dozo, and tusk. Knock is also a great midgame tool that can help ttar out since it alongside spikes wears down its checks.

Oh Well @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin

Spinner and works as a backup wincon. Mainly to support manaphy since mana hates hazards especially tspike. Tera water for backup rain cteam or random aqua jet users.

Thanks for posting! I'll make some suggestions to your team. I love the idea of :ogerpon-cornerstone:on webs, it helps vs :cinderace:and as a second lead.

Big Changes:

Swap your :choice-specs: set for a stallbreaker set. This set rips apart stall teams (wow i can send u so many replays) and enables your boost sweepers like :manaphy: and :great-tusk: to clean up (:Blissey: and/or :dondozo: being gone). 148 hp evs live a 252 spa Shadow Ball from opposing Gholdengo from full as well as a 75% chance to survive a Shadow ball after rocks. This investment just give more bulk. 216 speed and a Timid nature outspeed :dragapult: under webs and the rest was poured into Spa. Make It Rain and Shadow Ball are stabs, Nasty Plot to boost SpA and Psyshock to beat :blissey:, :clodsire: and :toxapex:.

+2 144 SpA Gholdengo Psyshock vs. 252 HP / 0 Def Blissey: 691-813 (96.7 - 113.8%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO
+2 144 SpA Gholdengo Psyshock vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Clodsire: 490-578 (105.8 - 124.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO
+2 144 SpA Gholdengo Psyshock vs. 248 HP / 8 Def Unaware Clodsire: 246-290 (53.1 - 62.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery. (if unaware, just kill it with :manaphy:.

Keys to the City (Gholdengo) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold

EVs: 148 HP / 144 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Make It Rain
- Nasty Plot
- Psyshock

Swap :Tyranitar: for :kingambit:. Unfortunately Ttar is kinda dix :(. Kingambit is 10x better as a setup sweeper. We will be running an offensive set, it suits webs best so we can outspeed as many things. Black Glasses to boost dark moves to crazy heights, Swords Dance to boost attack, Kowtow and Sucker Punch for stabs, and Low Kick for opposing :kingambit: as you will always outspeed under webs as well as deal with random things like :empoleon:. Tera Flying to dodge webs if its ever Court Changed as well as flipping our type weaknesses.

Kingambit @ Black Glasses
Ability: Supreme Overlord
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Low Kick
- Kowtow Cleave
- Sucker Punch

Small Changes:

Swap Dazzling Gleam on :manaphy: for Energy Ball. It helps vs :dondozo: which normally wall you as well as beat opposing :manaphy: in the mirror matchup. Also swap the Tera for grass to power up Energy Ball as well as resist Grassy Glide from :rillaboom:.

Make :great-tusk: 252 attack. With webs up, 300 speed is enough to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame, meaning that we can invest in attack without loosing out on much. With this change, we will swap Earthquake for Headlong Rush and swap the tera for Ground to hit wayy harder.

Pitbull (Great Tusk) @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Earthquake
- Ice Spinner
- Rapid Spin

Thats all! Hope this helps. Go get em! :boi:

yo, I used some of your changes and tested them. Most changes worked better than the original team but I kept tera fairy on mana and tera water on tusk. For mana the sucker resistance is way too important since tar already has tera poison to lure rilla. For tusk I kept running into random aqua jet users like craw or azu so kept it tera water. Thanks for the suggestions, though :tyke: Team is updated
