My goal upon making this team is to create a team that can easily be recreated in game, as I am active in the Wi-Fi battling scene as well. Basically, I wanted to create a quality, competitve team of 6 Pokemon that is easy to breed and raise. That means no dragons(takes too long to breed/raise), legendaries(Resetting is boring) and to an extent, starters/Eeveeloutions(12.5% female chance makes breeding a chore, but I have succesfully breeded a Treecko and Eevee before but it was annoying) and no hidden power(who has time for that?).
It took me about 4 days of ShoddyBattle testing(and lots of losing) before I came up with this team that seems to be good enough
All 6 Pokemon I use are easy to breed and raise because the egg steps are low and no ridiculous amounts of experience is needed to level up to higher levels.
I have used this team on Shoddy Battle to test it out, but before I begin making the team in-game I want to make sure its worth it.
jimmy young (Weavile) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Ice Shard
- Night Slash
- Taunt
This is my lead, though I find myself really hesitant to use Taunt against Bronzong leads. People wish they wouldn't lead with Gengar or Azelf when I lead with this. In Wi-Fi where Azelf and Deoxys leads are almost non-existant, it makes an even better lead.
billy pizor (Gallade) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Steadfast
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Night Slash
- Ice Punch
- Thunderpunch
Most people I battle don't expect Choice Scarf on Gallade for some reason. This is still a tricky Pokemon to use because of that, sometimes I predict right and wrong. Requires a lot of prediction to use, but is deadly in the right situations.
willie leiss (Milotic) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
EVs: 252 HP/128 Def/128 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Toxic
Some might think its a special wall but its a mixed wall to me. Takes defensive hits better than you would think. Even though there are no Special Attack EVs, it still does the job when it needs to attack. I would say she is the lifeblood of the team, the cornerstone.
Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Aerial Ace
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Roost
The one thing standing between the my team getting swept by a SD Lucario. I try to keep him alive because of that. This is why I use Gliscor instead of Dusknoir which I originally tried(Crunch hurts too hard), and I tried Hippowdon for a while for more offensive punch(didnt want to rely on Weavile/Gallade for physical hits only), but I decided to bring back Gliscor and add Swords Dance instead for late game scenarios where I need to hit harder as well as walling Lucario better.
john brown (Magnezone) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 122 HP/136 Def/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Flash Cannon
- Magnet Rise
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute
Walled by Blissey/Snorlax, but Substitute and Magnet Rise is never fun to deal with. I have considered replacing Magnet Rise with Explosion, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
curtis clay (Roserade) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 100 HP/42 Def/252 Spd/16 SAtk/100 SDef
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder
- Sludge Bomb
- Energy Ball
I use him to try and get Blisseys to switch and whoever comes in into a Sleep Powder. Leech Seed annoys Blissey, and Roserade is critical for Swamperts, especially the cursing variety. Surprisingly enough, I caught a Timid Shiny Budew in game with a 30 IV in Special Attack and 22 in Speed, but am unsure if I will use it because its other stats are bad.
That is my team. I occasionally have trouble with Calm Mind/Substitute Jirachis, especially if Weavile is out of the picture. But again, in the Wi-Fi Environment Jirachis are rare. SD Lucario is a pest if Gliscor is dead.
