ORAS OU (EDITED) Bird Jesus and The Goblin (Not Sure What to call it Now)

**EDITED**
Hey, so I've been trying out this team on showdown for a while now. It isn't a horrible team and it can stand up to multiple threats but it is lacking something. I can't seem to get past the 1100s and am repeatedly knocked down to 1000.
I Love all the help I've gotten thus far. However, as I said in a comment below I had contact with other people as well. Now that these changes have been made, I would love some help with the newish team.

mega-metagross.jpg

Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Pursuit

I decided to switch Pidgeot for Metagross to lower my weakness to Ice types. This change also adds to the usefullness of Politoed in the fact that he enjoys that rain. I honestly just copy and pasted a set from the XY Pokedex here on Smogon. This new guy really takes care of many hits, however I am thinking of going with Adamant due to a unexpected occurance where a Mega Altaria survived an Ice Puch despite being close to half HP.

598.png

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Knock Off

I chose Ferrothorn due to his overall defensive bulk and his typing synergy with the rest of the team. This guy generally comes out turn 1 and sets stealth rocks and leech seeds while protecting to slowly stall out his first few Pokemon. I normally do switch him out before he dies however. Knock Off is there so that leftovers can be nullified and the rocky helmet/iron barbs combo only adds to the punishment of physical fighters.

Sableye.png

Sableye @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect
- Recover
- Foul Play

I decided on this little goblin here because of his awesome support that he gives to many teams. This guy is generally used as a late game staller and sadly not much else. Foul Play is there to demolish things like Mega Salamance whose attack stat is way too high. Leftovers of course ensures that he has good staying power.

Politoed.gif

Politoed @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Hyper Voice
- Hidden Power [Grass]

This guy was chosen mostly for his Drizzle which gives Ferrothorn the ability to survive some fire attacks. This guy is generally an early game sweeper and he does his job better than most other members. The Choice Scarf is there to quickly get rid of threats to my team and to his self.

250px-141Kabutops.png

Kabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Jet

Probably the oddest change I have ever made, yet it really was the best I ever did as well due to that Swift Swim boost and pretty nice attack. This guy crushes most Ice Types like they are made of, well ice. The onlyreal complaint here is that he is taken down in rain by water type attacks. Any help with his would be great. Again this is a smogon set.

232_donphan.png

Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Play Rough
- Ice Shard

I chose Donphan for his Rapid Spin and lack of Fighting weakness. He wrecks a lot of pokemon late in the battle and he does his job best imo. I equipped him with Ice Shard and Play Rough to combat Mega Sceptile and Mega Lopunny. His Leftovers give him plenty of staying power as well.

This is my team and I would prefer most of it to not change. However, I would prefer it if Sableye could stay. Thank you all for the help!
P.S. I am also going to participate in Battling 101 if possible round 91.

I liked your team.
Actually it is very similar to mine, but with different objectives.

My team:
Pidgeot @ Pidgeotite
Ability: Tangled Feet
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Heat Wave
- Roost
- U-turn/HP Ground

I'm really in doubt between U-turn and HP Ground.

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Speed / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Baton Pass
- Calm Mind
- Heal Bell
- Hyper Voice

For very good reasons, Sylveon not take moves like Thunder, Blizzard and Stone Edge, which are weaknesses of Pidgeot, acting as a special wall of course but with the objectives of passing calm mind. Also her covers any status problem of Team with Heal Bell.

Chansey @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 4 Speed / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Thunder Wave
- Seismic Toss

First to paralyze the opponent , second because it is a high security to both special attacks and physical, third can heal the team. Finally, it will also serve to block all the weaknesses of Pidgeot, Sylveon and Excadrill(except fighter) , helps block Sablaye trouble but be careful with Knock Off. Chansey works for any team in fact it is the best support in game.

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Rock Slide

To clean the field and do his job. Nice option btw.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Knock Off

You already know.

And Sableye. Actually I'm in doubt between Sablaye and some pokemon with Volt Absorb ability. Also Rotom-W is a very good option too.
So, u understand the strategy of the team.

What u think?

That looks pretty solid. After a while of thinking and testing and talking to others I have decided to remove two pokemon from this team. Pidgeot and Landorus. Both are huge liabilities due to Ice types and Pidgeot only adds to my team's weaknesses. I will be adding Mega Metagross and Kabutops. Once I finalize these guys I will edit the OP.

I feel like you are wasting a slot on this team in the form of Politoed. Also it does is nullify the weakness of one mon, just to increase the weakness to 2 others. A scarf user is needed on team, especially in this meta, but Poli isn't the one for your team. You already have a Scarf user which is much better. IMO, Dugtrio>Politoed. It helps get rid of Tran. Use a Sash set with Reversal, Memento, Earthquake, and Stealth Rock. Max atk and speed, but 21 IVs so you can activate max power reversal off of 2 Seismic Tosses. With this change, HP Grass>HP Ground on Pidgeot.

Now, a slot is free on Ferrothorn. I recommend Spikes>Stealth Rock, as it claims a lot of KOs.

Now, you are weak to Keldeo. I recommend Healing Wish+Defog Latias>Donphan for this. It can heal Pidgeot back up, so you can continue to break stuff. It also removes hazards.

Will post sets later.

Yo followret nice team you have there. As you said you have a bit of a weakness to ice type attacks. My suggestion would be to play a specs keldeo instead of politoed. It walls ice types and KOs then in return.

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability : Justified
Timid Nature
EVs : 252 SpA/252 Spe /4 Def
IVs 0 Atk
- Scald
- Secret Sword
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power (electric)

Also on Ferrothorn instead of knock off run gyro ball to take care of fast threats like gardevoir mega. I'll think of some more alternatives and let you know.

Glhf playing :D

Hey guys thanx for all the help. I had already made some changes before I checked it this morning so Ididn't quite notice you guys' responses. All edits are in Red. Hope you all enjoy!

As I mentioned earlier keldeo world be am amazing option here song that it takes care of ice types as you are doing with kabutops. Imo keldeo is much more reliable. Btw bullet punch or eq world be appreciated on mega metagross as a priority move is always useful.

Thanks bro! I tried it out and it is working great!

Two last things, hopefully, Is there a better move for politoed to replace HP Grass and Rapid Spin on my Donphan. My team isnt too weak to stealth rocks. And rapid spin is a wasted move now...

Imo politoed is a better stalled than sweeper so I would change hp grass to toxic and rapid spin is a useful move especially when spikes nd sticky web is up.

Are you trying to make this team a rain team?
And you want to use Pidgeot, yet you switch it out?
I'm done here.
Even though I love Pidgeot....I also wanna win as well. I am just adapting to the metagame. Sadly though a new problem has arised. I have nothing to remove those burns...I probably should change something to help with burns. Ideas?

Switching one of your physical sweepers with a special one will deal with this problem. Like I had suggested earlier keldeo instead of kabutops will also help. Otherwise run lum berry on the pokemon that are vulnerable to burns.
