**EDITED**
Hey, so I've been trying out this team on showdown for a while now. It isn't a horrible team and it can stand up to multiple threats but it is lacking something. I can't seem to get past the 1100s and am repeatedly knocked down to 1000.
I Love all the help I've gotten thus far. However, as I said in a comment below I had contact with other people as well. Now that these changes have been made, I would love some help with the newish team.
Metagross @ Metagrossite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt
- Pursuit
I decided to switch Pidgeot for Metagross to lower my weakness to Ice types. This change also adds to the usefullness of Politoed in the fact that he enjoys that rain. I honestly just copy and pasted a set from the XY Pokedex here on Smogon. This new guy really takes care of many hits, however I am thinking of going with Adamant due to a unexpected occurance where a Mega Altaria survived an Ice Puch despite being close to half HP.
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
- Knock Off
I chose Ferrothorn due to his overall defensive bulk and his typing synergy with the rest of the team. This guy generally comes out turn 1 and sets stealth rocks and leech seeds while protecting to slowly stall out his first few Pokemon. I normally do switch him out before he dies however. Knock Off is there so that leftovers can be nullified and the rocky helmet/iron barbs combo only adds to the punishment of physical fighters.
Sableye @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect
- Recover
- Foul Play
I decided on this little goblin here because of his awesome support that he gives to many teams. This guy is generally used as a late game staller and sadly not much else. Foul Play is there to demolish things like Mega Salamance whose attack stat is way too high. Leftovers of course ensures that he has good staying power.
Politoed @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Hyper Voice
- Hidden Power [Grass]
This guy was chosen mostly for his Drizzle which gives Ferrothorn the ability to survive some fire attacks. This guy is generally an early game sweeper and he does his job better than most other members. The Choice Scarf is there to quickly get rid of threats to my team and to his self.
Kabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Jet
Probably the oddest change I have ever made, yet it really was the best I ever did as well due to that Swift Swim boost and pretty nice attack. This guy crushes most Ice Types like they are made of, well ice. The onlyreal complaint here is that he is taken down in rain by water type attacks. Any help with his would be great. Again this is a smogon set.
Donphan @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Play Rough
- Ice Shard
I chose Donphan for his Rapid Spin and lack of Fighting weakness. He wrecks a lot of pokemon late in the battle and he does his job best imo. I equipped him with Ice Shard and Play Rough to combat Mega Sceptile and Mega Lopunny. His Leftovers give him plenty of staying power as well.
This is my team and I would prefer most of it to not change. However, I would prefer it if Sableye could stay. Thank you all for the help!
P.S. I am also going to participate in Battling 101 if possible round 91.
