Hello, I am brand new to the community and though I have just recently had interest in the competitive side of Pokemon. I have played it since I was a kid and am familiar with all the generations. I personally like a team with a theme. This is a team I have built and play-tested. I have both IV and EV trained them and so far I have had some success, but I feel like I need some suggestions to maximize the potential of this team. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you very much!
Espeon (Duel Screens)
EV's: 252 Speed 252 HP 4 Defense
Nature: Timid
Ability: Magic Bounce
Item: Light Clay
Moves:
Grass Knot
Light Screen
Reflect
Psychic
This is usually my lead Pokemon Its job is simple to put up both its screens. Eeveelutions typically have weak defense so reflect is top priority. With HP focused EV's Espeon can normally take at least one hit, so putting up two screens is not normally a challenge. Espeon has a strong base Sp. Attack so Psychic serves as a good stab move capable of dealing with anything weak to it. And grass knot is for type coverage since my team is lacking in grass types.
Jolteon (Special Sweeper)
EV's: 252 Speed 252 Sp. Attack 4 Defense
Nature: Timid
Ability: Volt Absorb
Item: Choice Spec
Moves:
Hidden Power (Dragon)
Thunder Bolt
Volt Switch
Shadow Ball
Jolteon is my fast and heavy hitter. Few things can out speed Jolteon which is why I love him as a Pokemon. I tried to give him a wide range of move sets so he can deal with a variety of threats. And with choice spec he can normally 0KO a non Sp. defense based Pokemon even if it is neutral damage.
Flareon (Physical Sweeper)
EV's: 252 Attack 252 Speed 4 Defense
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Guts
Item: Toxic Orb
Moves:
Flame Charge
Flare Blitz
Facade
Baton Pass
I know Flareon has had a ruff past, but now with flair blitz I believe he can have a chance to shine too. His horrendous attack stat with guts is a force to be reckoned with. With reflect support Flareon can take a hit and then strike back with vengeance. However with the toxic orb he can't stay in too long so I have baton pass to pass on the nice speed boost. Vaporeon or Sylveon might need it.
Umbreon (Toxic Wall)
EV's: 252 HP 252 Sp. Defense 4 Defense
Nature: Calm
Ability: Synchronize
Item: Rocky Helmet
Moves:
Toxic
Protect
Wish
Pursuit
This guy is a wall. He has toxic to where down Pokemon my team can't deal with. With wish and protect he can stay in for a long time, and Pursuit is nice for when I think they will switch.
Vaporeon (Healing Wall)
EV's: 248 HP 252 Defense 8 Speed
Nature: Bold
Ability:Hydration
Item: Leftovers
Moves:
Rain Dance
Scald
Wish
Rest
Hydration wall Vaporeon is one of the most durable Pokemon I have seen especially with reflect and light screen up. I love this guy. He can scald for burn. Rain dance/ Rest to restore all its HP which is a respectable amount to say the least. And He can pass wishes. Defiantly one of my favorites in the set.
Sylveon (Special Tank)
EV's: 252 Sp. Attack 252 Sp. Defense 4 Speed
Nature: Modest
Ability: Pixilate
Item: Quick Claw, Life Orb
Moves:
Moonblast
Hyper Beam
Baton Pass
Calm Mind
This Pokemon is my tank. It can take a hit and dish out a big one. Sylveon has great Sp. Defense and great Sp. Attack. It has fairy typing which if you ask me has both defensive and offensive capabilities. It has both moon blast for normal threats and to break down walls Hyper Beam. 150 Stab fairy typing is nothing to laugh at. I have found it to be very effective. It's even worth the recharge time.
Thank you for Reading my post and again, any advice is appreciated. However, I would like to keep this team in the real of Eeveelutions while being as competitive as possible. So please keep that in mind.
