ElectiCune Awesome Combo

Aight so this is my third RMT since i joined smogon. This team has great success getting a 10-1 for me since i tried it. i did though had to make some changes to my team along the way to get to this team, so without further ado here it is:

TEAM BUILDING PROCESS:

As stated in the title, this team is based on Electivire and Suicune.

Next i needed a fire type to scare away scizor and other steel types because electivire and suicune can't stand alone :P I opted for my favourite scizor counter: heatran.

I decided that i needed a pokemon that goes can take all the eq's aimed at heatran and electivire, so i chose the red dragon: Latias.

Next i decided i needed a spin blocker and a phazer plus a swampert counter because my team was swampert weak, so i opted for Rotom-c.

I needed a lead to take hits and set up the ever so important SR, so i used Swampert

Okay so after some sugesstions left by viewers i decided to sack electivire for metagross and i also changed rotom-c for breloom.

IN DEPTH:

260m.png

EV's: 252Hp 4Atk 252Def
Nature: Impish
Item: Leftovers
Moveset:

Avalanche
Earthquake
Stealth Rock
Roar

Ok some people may have noticed the different nature and the use of avalanche instead of the normal ice beam. The reason for the impish nature is because swampert will still get the defense boost but it wont lose its speed instead it loses its special atk so avalanche was used besides avalanche is stronger because swampert will most likely attack last because its slow. The only reason i use impish is to outspeed other swampert leads and roar them away, so they can't set up SR. SR is important to any team and my team is no exception. EQ and Avalanche give the normal coverage. Roar lets me reveal my opponents team after i set up SR (hopefully) and it also breaks any potential focus sashes and also damages the opponents poke. Swampert usually stays around for the first bit of the game and i also like to keep it around after it has set up SR to suck up t-waves, sleep, and other status, so my sweepers can stay on. All in all he is an awesome bulky lead.

EV's: 48Hp 252Atk 208Spe
Nature: Adamant
Item: Toxic Orb
Moveset:

Spore
Seed Bomb
Focus Punch
Substitute

I have decided to replace Rotom-c with breloom. Breloom acts as my sleep inducer and my blissey destroyer. Spore is a must, for sleep. Substitute lets me safely attack without taking damage and since toxic orb heals me i can make several subs without a problem. Seed bomb allows me to destroy water or ground types. Breloom also provides the same coverage as rotom-c and keeps swamperts at bay. I like to keep him hidden till late game so i can focus punch their team to death.

EV's: 4Hp 252Spe 252SpA
Nature: Timid
Item: Life Orb
Moveset:

Calm Mind
Dragon Pulse
Surf
Recover

She's my late game sweeper. Even after one calm mind she will wreak havoc on the opponents team. Dragon pulse lets me take care of incoming dragon types and hits everthing thats non steel relatively hard. Surf is mainly for filter and to take down steel types. Recover lets me heal off damage from LO recoil or hits from other pokes. She takes cares of the ground attacks aimed at heatran and electivire. She cleans everything up after my other sweepers have severly dented or annihialted their entireteam (cocky). It usually takes more than one switch to kill her, especially if she has some calm minds under her belt. I abosuloutly love the coverage and power she gives me. Hopefully she'll in OU after the next suspect test because she's outclassed in Ubers by the likes of Latios.

EV's: 252Hp 252Atk 4Def
Nature: Adamant
Item: Leftovers
Moveset:

Earthquake
Zen Headbutt
Ice Punch
Bullet Punch/Meteor Mash

Okay so i replaced electivire so the name doesnt work oh well. Metagross is now my tank to take hits and also packs a priority attack to pick off weakend pokes. He functions much better than electivire to take hits and i can also switch attacks. I am though torn between wheter to choose BP of Meteor Mash. Help me decide.

EV's: 252Hp 252Def 4SpA
Nature: Bold
Item: Leftovers
Moveset:

Calm Mind
Surf
Ice Beam
Toxic

Okay, so after some suggestions suicune now runs toxic instead of roar and after i did his suicune has been so much more useful. Toxic damages switch ins who expect a surf or ice beam and scars them for the rest of the battle unless they have natural cure. Suicune is also able to funtion on its own because of CM surf and ice beam. I like to keep suicune hidden away until blisseys and vapreons are eliminated from the match. All in all im glad i made the change to suicune. It has benefited greatly from toxic.

EV's: 4Atk 252Spe 252SpA
Nautre: Naive
Item: Choice Scarf
Moveset:

Earth Power
Fire Blast
Dragon Pulse
Explosion

Choice scarf heatran is my revenge killer and also rips through grass and steel types with STAB fire blast. Earth power destroy t-tar and friends. Dragon pulse allows to hit water types and also hit dragon types, so im not a sitting duck while they switch in a dragon type and boost their stats up. Explosion is basically filter, as it allows me to destroy Blissey, the most annoying special wall ever.

This wraps up my RMT. Even though the name doesnt fit anymore i like this team :D

Electric/Grass moves (except the occasional Leaf Storm) won't be aimed much at a Suicune. More common moves are Toxic, Taunt, and Encore (the latter two still not affecting Electivire switch-ins, though).

I'm not saying that the team is bad or anything, it looks incredibly solid. Just that Electivire + Sucune "combo" isn't really going to be as awesome as you think it might be. Perhaps use a Choiced Suicune and Meditate Electivire? That Electivire would go ways as your main physical attacker (or Choice Band, whatever).

I also feel as if you are overestimating Stealth Rock.I don't even think a Spin Blocker is really necessary (Rotom's cool, just don't think you have to be using it mainly to guard Rapid Spin).

The thing is even if your faster they can still set up Stealth Rocks. Pretty good team only flaw i see is fast scarfs like Gengar, Starmie, base 100 spe pokes might bring some problems but death fodder a poke and scare it off seems to be the plan.

Yeah, I agree with PhilosophicalPsychologica on the Suicune/Electivire combo not being as effective as you might think. Especially with Suicune not having Rest/Talk, it's incredibly vulnerable to Toxic. Considering most Suicune are CMers, most people woulnt try to Thunderbolt it straight up. Even if you did manage to get a Motor Drive boost, what is that going to do for you? You already have a Scarf to boost your Speed, and you get locked into one attack that isn't even boosted...

I also see a problem with Breloom and Celebi, especially if you guess wrong and switch Heatran into Focus Punch/T-Wave, Rotom or Latias into a SubSeeder, or allow your two Water types to get hit by a Grass attack while trying to Roar out a SubSeeder. Electivire won't like to take anything but a T-Wave from Celebi, and nothing likes a Spore from Breloom. I guess its fine as it is, but both are very dangerous until you can figure out what set they are running by guessing correctly.

avalanche only doubles in power if you get hit first. unlike payback you HAVE to get hit to get the boost.use ice beam.

just a quick little blurp:

You seem to think you can roar opposing swampert leads away preventing SR, but roar has a negative priority so it doesn't matter if your faster, they will get SR up before you roar them away.

A few nitpicks:
---
Roar has negative priority so SR will go before Roar. You should know this if you tested this team.
To get Avalanche's power doubled, you need to get hit, not to move second.
Shadow Ball on Rotom-C has been spelt incorrectly.
Surf on Latias has been spelt incorrectly.
---
Chocie Scarf on Electivire? Suicune already attracts Electric attacks, where Electivire can come in and soak them up, gaining a speed boost equal to that of Choice Scarf. You also have the freedom to switch moves without Choice Scarf.

i prefer toxic on suicune instead of roar because swampert can already phaze. Also I dont like the idea of scarfed electivire because it just makes his ability practically useless.. I think tyranitar and celebi can be threats of your team and the lack of priority moves might get you killed by DD Gyra, SD Lucario and maybe Gengar or Ape. Overall you've picked the strong OUs so you should be able to shrug off some opponents.

hmmm... thanx for the ideas, im gonna go swtich roar to toxic on suicune and switch electivire to metagross (own idea)

I haven't used Suicune or Electivire, ever, but I'll look at this from the opponent's position since I face Suicune so often. As soon as I saw the title "ElectriCune" I knew what was coming and I was skeptical. Suicune is usually a huge pain in the ass unless I can explode on it, but what I've learned NOT to do is toss Thunderbolts at it. Since most of my opponents run Crocune or some variation of it, it's often a waste of a few turns trying to attack it outright. You should find some other way to bait electric attacks, like Gyarados (but don't be too obvious) and put an Expert Belt or Life Orb on it. Scarf obviously locks you in and doesn't give you any extra power.
With a choice scarf on he will revenge pokes that would normally destroy him, most notably choice scarf t-tar, the Ev's allow me to have a bit of Hp to stick around a bit longer. This set does not need to rely on the help of motor drive to boosts its speed to awesome levels, although it is still appreciated.
If you get a Motor Drive boost, you will outrun ScarfTar anyways. And you say that scarfed Electivire doesn't need to depend on a speed boost, but your (water type)/Electivire strategy suggests that you are trying to, and probably will get one.
The rest of your team seems pretty good but as others are saying, you don't want Roar on too many Pokemon because of negative priority.

Have you considered agility on metagross insted of zen headbutt? I haven't tried using zh but I really don't think its needed.
