[OVERVIEW]

Electrode is the premier lead paralysis setter in Nintendo Cup 1997 boasting the highest speed in the game to guarantee setting paralysis for it's team against various high level threats.

[SET]
name: LOW LEVEL PARALYSIS LEAD
level: 50
move 1: Thunderwave
move 2: Thunderbolt
move 3: Rest/Double Team
move 4: Explosion

[SET COMMENTS]
Set Description
=========

Electrode's speed stat of base 140 enables it to move first at level 50 regardless of what level the opponent is at. Freeing up levels to be invested elsewhere on your team, and out-classing level 51 Jolteon as a lead.

* Thunderwave is used with 100% accuracy to cripple opposing leads like Jynx and Gengar to make them more manageable for pokemon like ace Lapras and Rhydon to manage later, in addition to ruining ace Tauros and ace Starmie, effectively preventing them from running through your team with a greater consistency than sleep leads.

* STAB Thunderbolt applies adequate pressure to non resists forcing them to act quickly with status or damage instead of setting up evasion.

* Rest is used to establish Nintendo Cup 1997 sleep clause to prevent other pokemon from getting slept after Electrode has used Thunderwave. In addition to giving Electrode defensive utility against other electric types in a pinch.

* Explosion enables Electrode to constantly pressure opponents with big damage and the threat of suddenly letting in a sweeper like Tauros while denying the opponent the chance to threaten status from sleep moves or Blizzard, and crucially denying ace Dugtrio or Rhydon from setting up a substitute or evasion.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* The threat of Double Team can sometimes be used to enable Electrode to run away with the match if the opponent lacks an Electric counter, and to punish the opponent for not dispatching Electrode immediately with status and Damage.

* Flash is sometimes used to further cripple paralyzed targets to better enable Electrode's team mates to set up evasion or attack without using evasion. However, the low accuracy of Flash and use of a move slot makes this strategy suseptible to switch stalling and inconsistency.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric-resists**: Pokemon that resist Electrode's STAB Thunderbolt like Rhydon and Exeggutor will often switch in and force Electrode to blow up, or simply deny Electrode the chance to paralyze it's premier targets of Jynx and Gengar ultimately making it substantially more difficult for ace Lapras and Rhydon to handle those threats.

I assume that there's no need to mention why one would run double team over rest.
I would rephrase "and out-classing level 51 Jolteon as a lead" to "and out-speeding level 51 Jolteon as a lead".

Otherwise, I approve of this analysis.

Electrode's speed stat of* Electrode is the premier lead paralysis spreader "setting" is more like hazards, terrain, etc. in Nintendo Cup 1997, boasting the highest Speed in the game to guarantee paralysis against various high level threats.

* Electrode's
base 140 Speed enables it to move first at level 50 regardless of what level the opponent is at foe's level. Freeing foe = opposing mon, opponent = opposing player This frees up levels to be invested invest elsewhere on your team, (RC) and out-classing outclasses level 51 Jolteon as a lead.

* Thunderwave is used with 100% accuracy to cripple Thunder Wave cripples we leave out dex info, meaning stuff you could find by just looking up the move itself on the Smogdex opposing leads like Jynx and Gengar to make them more manageable for Pokemon like ace Lapras Rhydon and Rhydon level 55 Lapras reordered so it's clear that only Lapras is level 55 to manage later, (RC) in addition to ruining ace. (AP) It also ruins level 55 Tauros and ace Starmie, effectively preventing them from running through your team with a greater consistency than sleep leads.

* STAB Thunderbolt applies adequate pressure to non resists non-resistant foes, (AC) more GP stuff, we don't call Pokemon "resists" forcing them to act quickly with status or damage instead of setting up evasion.

* Rest is used to establish Nintendo Cup 1997 Sleep Clause, (AC) preventing to prevent other Pokemon from getting slept put to sleep after Electrode has used Thunderwave Thunder Wave. In addition, (AC) it gives to giving Electrode defensive utility against other electric types Electric-types in a pinch.

* Explosion enables Electrode to constantly pressure opponents foes with the threat of big damage and the threat of suddenly letting in free entry for a sweeper like Tauros. (AP) while reworded since it's a one-time button, but its a threat of both big damage + one free entry, hope this makes it read clearer This also denies denying the opponent the foe a chance to threaten status from sleep moves or Blizzard, and crucially denying ace denies Rhydon and level 55 Dugtrio or Rhydon from setting the opportunity to set up a Substitute or evasion.

Other Options

* The threat of Double Team can sometimes be used to enable Electrode to run away with the match if the opponent lacks an Electric Electric-type counter, (RC) and comma mostly only goes before "and" when both parts stand independently as full sentences to punish the opponent for not dispatching Electrode immediately with status and Damage.

* Flash is sometimes used to further cripple paralyzed targets to better enable Electrode's team mates teammates to set up evasion or attack without using evasion. However, the low accuracy of Flash and use of a move slot makes this strategy suseptible susceptible to switch stalling and inconsistency.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Electric-resistsElectric-resistant Foes**: Pokemon that resist or are immune to Electrode's STAB Thunderbolt, (AC) like Rhydon and Exeggutor, (AC) will often switch in and force Electrode to blow up, (RC) use Explosion or simply deny Electrode the chance to paralyze it's its premier targets of — (ASC)Jynx and Gengar— (ASC)ultimately I know this looks like a bug but that's how you do em dashes on the dex, which fit here - remove spaces on both sides so it looks like this: Gengar—ultimately. It'll look correct when published. making it substantially more difficult for ace Lapras Rhydon and Rhydon level 55 Lapras to handle those threats.
