Elekid @ Eviolite
Ability: Vital Spirit
Level: 5
Tera Type: Psychic
EVs: 12 Atk / 236 SpA / 236 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Volt Switch
Thanks to an incredible Speed tier that makes it the fastest Pokemon in the tier bar Choice Scarfers, an extremely wide pool of coverage, and a solid Special Attack stat, Elekid is one of LC's most reliable pivots. Psychic allows Elekid to hit Fighting- and Poison-types for Super-effective damage, most notably Mienfoo, Foongus, and Glimmet. Focus Blast arounds out Elekid's coverage, nailing Alolan Sandshrew while also being Elekid's strongest option vs Ground-types like Mudbray and Alolan Diglett. Volt Switch allows Elekid to pivot out of poor matchups against the likes of healthy Foongus and Chespin and bring in frailer teammates like Wingull in safely. With Tera Psychic, Elekid is able to OHKO Mienfoo after Stealth Rocks while also having small defensive benefits against Choice Scarf Gothita attempting to revenge kill, however it comes at the major cost of being weak to Sucker Punch from the likes of Stunky and Alolan Diglett. Elekid struggles to deal with bulky special walls such as Chinchou and Tinkatink, so having teammates that can reliably deal with these two such as Foongus and Stunky can be helpful to have. Even with Eviolite, Elekid is still relatively frail, so it enjoys having slower pivots like Vullaby and Mienfoo to allow it to come in safely, while also forming VoltTurn cores with these two.
