Sign-Up Phase:
Pretty self explanitory. During this phase, everyone has to sign-up by typing "in" through this thread. Every player must do this, or else not selected as players and can't be involved in the later phases. This phase will last 72 hours. After everyone has signed up, they must join the Discord if they haven't already. When this phase ends, council will randomly assign all players evenly into two different groups, which will be released as public information through a post. After all of this, the next phase begins.
Creation Phase:
This is where the fun begins. As the groups have been assigned, they will both be given Discord roles to assign them for each team. This will allow them to enter private channels for their individual teams. Both teams cannot view the channel of the opposing team, so everything is kept private during this phase. Giving out information to the opposing team is not allowed. During this creation process, each team must create 6 original Fakemon. It's recommended to assign 6 builders to create each mon so everyone is involved. Everyone else will be in charge of balancing each Pokemon so they are balanced for around an SV OU power level. While optimization and strategy is encouraged while building, it is strongly against the rules to try to create broken Pokemon simply to win during the battle phase, so anything too strong will be vetoed. For that reason everyone should help with balancing so nothing overpowered gets past. All teams must also be balance oriented, so no hyper offense or stall spam, as these will be eventually be coded in for an actual metagame, and we don't want to limit people's options for teams. For every Pokemon submitted, a list of reasonable counterplay must be also shown as to indicate it won't easily win against an opposing team. After about a week, the battle phase will end once everything is balanced and submitted.
Battle Phase:
This is the most crucial part of each slate. After every Pokemon is finished, they will all be released on a spreadsheet, visible to all team players. Then a post will be made in the thread giving a tournament time. If you haven't already, each team needs to assign 3 battlers to be involved in said tournament before it begins. They must all create unique teams best optimized to counter the opposing team. Once the tournament begins, all teams cannot be changed and players must stick with what they have. As the war begins, each battler will fight each other in a best of 3. Whoever team wins the majority will have their Fakemon assigned as "safe", while those of the loser team will be eliminated. They will still be coded in, but are illegal to play in future battles until a second chance is given.
After all 3 phases, the process repeats itself again and again. While the first two slates will keep it vanilla, later slates will vary it up a little. Just expect to be surprised about what's to come. And remember not to take this metagame too seriously and have fun with this chaotic metagame. There will always be an element of luck due to the blind factor when making teams, so don't always expect to win. This is all a part of the fun, so don't get too upset if something overpowered slips past or your mons are eliminated. Eventually this will all come back to a stable metagame. The battles simply create the metagame. They aren't the meta by themselves.
Misc Rules:
- SV OU mechanics and clauses apply
- Terastalization is banned so battles can't easily change the tide when they normally have a bad matchup
- Customs are banned so no one has to deal with anything unexpected

On a side note, due to the nature of this metagame, we need a bigger council! We're hoping for at least one more council member, although two are preferible. If you trust your ability to veto problematic Pokemon, feel free to message or dm me and I'll consider your offer. You can still be involved in the creation process, so don't worry.
With all of that out of the way, let's begin Elimination War!
