Elmo never loses

This team is based off of a core I made up and posted in the Good Cores thread, and it's made up of Conkeldurr (aka Elmo), Gengar, and Vaporeon. So here we go:
485.png

HEAVY (Heatran)@Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature (+SpA,-Atk)
Stealth Rock
Fire Plume
Earth Power
Flash Cannon

This guy is my stealth rock lead. Since so many pokemon are weak to stealth rock (Talonflame, charizard, those ppl) and some other pokemon on my team are weak to fire I needed a counter to those and Heatran was perfect. He can switch in on any fire attack aimed at my ferrothorn and gain a flash fire boost and kill everything

IM SO SASSY (Ferrothorn)@Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
120 HP / 136 Def / 252 SpD
IVs: 0 Speed
Sassy Nature (hahahaha get it /bricked) (+SpD, -Spe)
Leech Seed
Protect
Gyro Ball
Spikes

Basically this is every Ferrothorn moveset that has ever existed in all of space and time, and so far it has been great. Once it sets up leech seed, it can spam protect and be nearly impossible to take out, and even if any physical attack knocks it out, the opponent gets mauled by iron barbs and rocky helmet. It lures in fire moves, which allows me to switch out to Heatran and power his fire moves. Also, spikes everywhere.

STAYIN' ALIVE (Mandibuzz)@Leftovers
Ability: Overcoat
248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature (+Def, -SpA)
Roost
Foul Play
Taunt
Defog

Thanks to a someone's suggestion I decided to replace Forretress with Mandibuzz, as it's bulky, isn't weak to fire, and can defog everything. When it uses taunt, it helps prevent annoying stall wars, and makes things like blissey and ferrothorn have a heart attack. Foul play is useful against SD Aegislash, and any other physical threats.

ELMO (Conkeldurr)@Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SpA)
Drain Punch
Mach Punch
Knock Off
Ice Punch

YAY FINALLY I GET TO TALK ABOUT ELMO/bricked
In the right situation this guy is a monster, having a reliable recovery move in drain punch, good coverage in ice punch, making items useless with knock off, and picking off weak opponents with mach punch. Assault Vest fixes his Sp. Defense, so he's pretty bulky, and without a flame orb, foes assume he has sheer force/iron fist, and try to burn him. Which ends in a nice surprise, for me at least lol. But mach punch and drain punch are useless on ghost types which is why we have:

PATGAR (Gengar)@Life orb
Ability: Levitate
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
Timid Nature (+Spe, - Atk
Pain split
Thunderbolt
Focus Blast
Shadow Ball

Because Conkeldurr has trouble with ghost, flying, and psychic types, I needed something to take out his counters. Gengar worked perfectly, killing flying types with thunderbolt, and taking out ghost and psychic with shadow ball. Focus Blast is for coverage, and pain split is to tick everyone off and heal life orb recoil. But talonflame murders everyone so far (except for heatran lol) so this is why I have:

134.png

MR. NOODLES(Vaporeon)@Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature (+ Def, - Atk)
Scald
Ice Beam
Wish
Heal bell

This guy walls talonflame and all fire/rock/whatever moves so well. Ice beam takes care of annoying dragons, scald annoys physical attackers, and he can pass wishes to pokemon like heatran, and others that lack recovery. Heal bells heals any status like toxic, and he reliably switches into talonflame's flare blits/brave bird and fight back with scald.

So thats pretty much it, and yes I named them those names. And this team probably sucks :)

SO BYE :D

Wait, really? I must be secretly psychic or something and of all the things to name Mr. Noodles I chose a cat pokemon. xD

Anyway, would Claydol be better to replace forretress or would it fail? I was looking at excadrill, but three steel types on my team would spell death everywhere.

That'd be a good idea. Thanks! :)

your welcome and if you replace forretress put apikes over seed bomb on ferrothorn as with no attack ev's i dont see how it would be doing much damage; anyhow if you dont like that change you should at least replace it with power whip as it has higher base damage.

Knock off >thunder punch
You sort of need to explain it more than that but I agree.

Conkeldurr
Knock Off > Thunderpunch

Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
Although Thunder Punch can be used for hitting things such as Azumarill to avoid it getting the Belly Drum, Vaporeon on your team can come in and take those Physical Attacks, it can then proceed to fire of Scald in hope of the chance of getting the 30% burn and proceed to stall it out with Wish + Protect. You also have Ferrothorn on your team to stall it out with the Leech Seed + Protect, this is only if Azumarill isn't running Superpower. Knock Off has got a buff this Generation and there is no reason why you shouldn't take advantage of it! It allows you to get rid of the opponents items and provide a boost of power when doing so the first time. It allows you to hit Pokemon such as Gengar and Aegislash, provided it doesn't play the King's Shield mind games.

That sounds like a good idea, I'll go use that instead.

Thunder punch wasn't exactly working well, so this is much better. Thanks! :)

Tbh I don't know about your ferro spread, 252hp should. Be maxxed prior to investing in hp, the standard set 252hp/40def/208SpD. You could shift the defense to better take certain things I suppose, but it look s random atm.
Also consider thunder wave>spikes to cripple counters like loom on the switch.

The ev set I used kind of made the defenses even, but I'll try that other one as well.

Thunder wave might make gyro ball completely useless, but I'll consider it.
