Despite Emolga's unique attributes in an Electric immunity and Encore, its stats outside of Speed are quite lacking, and it is outclassed by mainly Oricorio-E. Emolga also does not hit especially hard, and its quirks do not stand up to Oricorio-E's access to Calm Mind, higher Special Attack, much better bulk, and ability to check threats like Gurdurr and Lilligant much more convincingly.

Emolga aims to perform as a pivot with utility moves in Encore, Taunt, and Knock Off with its respectable Speed tier and ability to gain momentum by disrupting the foe. Even with its blend of offense and utility, Emolga's lackluster stats tend to fail it, so it struggles to do its job consistently. This makes Oricorio-E a better option for a Pokemon of its typing, and other utility pivots such as Alolan Persian are overall more effective.

Despite Emolga's unique attributes in an Electric immunity, Acrobatics, and Encore (Jumpluff gets Acro + Encore, but yeah Encore + Motor Drive is unique to Emolga - you might also not end up talking about Acro here anyway if you use LST's set below (Tbolt)), it remains quite outclassed by mainly Oricorio-E. Emolga also does not hit especially hard even with STAB Acrobatics, and its quirks do not stand up to Oricorio-E's access to Calm Mind, utility in countering meta-pertinent threats such as Lilligant and Gurdurr, higher Special Attack, and notably much better bulk.

Emolga aims to perform as a pivot with utility in Defog Knock Off (this is way better than Defog for breaking down teams or disrupting setup and then pivoting out with U-turn - for example, Togedemaru switching into Emolga can lose its Choice Scarf to Emolga's Knock Off, and as a result, Togedemaru will be unable to check SS Omastar or SD Dodrio late-game) and/or Encore with its respectable speed tier. But even with its blend of offense and utility, Emolga's lackluster stats tend to fail it, so it struggles to do its job consistently, and Oricorio-E remains overall more effective this says more or less what the first paragraph did already, even with if it doesn’t wield the same options.
