Empoleon makes one of the best support Pokemon. It has some of the best typing in the game - water and steel. Since Empoleon also has a good base stat for special attack, it gives him a little more edge than Ferrothorn and Forretress. Scald will do a decent amount of damage plus have a chance to burn the foe. Empoleon can utilize defog, roar, and stealth rocks. He makes an excellent soaker nonetheless, and the immunity to toxic should not go unnoticed.
