Enter the First Sandstorm Team

Well, this is my first Sandstorm team so I'm completely new to all this stuff. Any tips or help would be completely appreciated. Anyways, here we go!

Enter Sandman

Tyranitar@Life Orb
Sand Stream
Adamant Nature
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Sp / 4 HP
Dragon Dance
Ice Beam
Crunch
Stone Edge

He sets up the Sandstorm. Standard DD TTar that can take out Infernape (unless it has Grass Knot), Gyarados, and Azelf leads. I may have some problems with Bronzong, but hopefully Crunch will take care of it.

BATMAN!!

Gliscor@Leftovers
Sand Veil
Impish Nature
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Aerial Ace
Earthquake
Roost
Knock Off

The defensive wall of my team. Aerial Ace for pesky things like Heracross. EQ for reliable STAB, Roost for recovery. SR is always helpful, but Knock Off can take off their Leftovers, rendering them an inevitable Sandstorm death, or no free chances to get a free stat boost. Plus, Blissey has the rocks covered.

Fight Fire With Fire

Heatran@Life Orb/Leftovers
Flash Fire
Modest Nature

252 SpA / 216 Sp / 40 HP
Lava Plume
Earth Power
Dragon Pulse
Flash Cannon

My Special Sweeper. Lava Plume is to cripple their Physical Sweepers that try to EQ Heatran. Earth Power for the annoying Magnezone i can hopefully outspeed as well as some annoying electric types. Dragon Pulse for, well Dragons, and Flash Cannon is basically a filler move with STAB. No Choice Specs as I want versatility.

Tender age In Bloom

Blissey@Leftovers
Natural Cure
Calm Nature
EVs:
252 Def / 40 SpA / 216 SpD
Aromatherapy
Ice Beam
Softboiled
Stealth Rock

My new special wall. I'll use it to set up the SR and absorb any special attack, using aromatherapy to heal any statuses on my team. Ice Beam for a little more coverage on the Pokemon immune to the sandstorm.

Dream On

Jirachi@Leftovers
Serene Grace
Impish Nature
EVs:
240 HP / 56 Atk / 76 Def / 136 Spe
Wish
U-Turn
Zen Headbutt
Ice Punch

Wish Support for my team. Ice Punch to cover pokemon immune to sandstorm. I really love Jirachi and it's never failed me before so I adore using this thing. I'm trying something new giving it an elemental punch and i'm eager to try it out as well.

The Trooper

Garchomp@BrightPowder
Sand Veil
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Sp / 4 Def
Substitute
Swords Dance
Earthquake
Dragon Claw

Ah, the finisher of my team. I've never used the BPSub version, so I thought in a Sandstorm team this would fit perfectly. Dragon Claw>Outrage for more of a controlled moveset.

Well, yes I'm a big fan of Rock N Roll if anyone asks. Anyways, there's my first Sandstorm team. I know i have a LOT of flaws in that team, so please guide me on that. I'm thinking of replacing someone for a Special Lucario so any help on that would be helpful as well. I'm also considering a Rain Dance team for anyone who wants to give me some tips for that. Thanks!
EDIT: I now have a weakness to fighting so any tips on that would help me a lot too. Thanks!

Take advantage of sandstorm and use regirock it has insanely high def and in with sandstorm it's sp defence augments by 1.5. Get rid of zong.
I was thinking:
377.png

Regirock @Leftovers
EVs:252 HP/6 Def/252 SpD
Nature:Careful
-Rock slide
-Earthquake/ Hammer arm
-Rest
-Sleep talk
The low PP of Stone edge hurts here. This thing does the same thing as bronzong but with better defences and it can be ur status absorber.

the odds of hitting garchomp are like 60% with base 100 accuracy so id go with adament as theres a good chance the attack will miss and than it can just sub, with 394 attack after an SD EQ 2HKOs max HP/DEF hippo which i dont think jolly does, if you stay with jolly id go with outrage over dragon claw

good team. but why not make Ttar a tyraniboah?
and u should replace aerial ace on gliscor for ice fang

Why should he do either of those things? Making suggestions with no reason is about as useful as not posting at all.

Take advantage of sandstorm and use regirock it has insanely high def and in with sandstorm it's sp defence augments by 1.5.

What does Regirock add? Tyranitar already has insanely high physical defensiveness and even better special defensiveness than Regirock. Add in Gliscor and Cradily and Regirock isn't really adding anything new to the team. It's basically just you saying "Hey SS team needs Regirock!" without any reasoning behind it other than "It's awesome".

the odds of hitting garchomp are like 60% with base 100 accuracy

80%. With Brightpowder, 72%.

so id go with adament as theres a good chance the attack will miss

What kind of an argument is that? How does the likelihood that the attack will hit determine what Speed you need? You also shouldn't be banking on things with such a low chance to work. There is only a 28% chance for them to miss, but even if we take your wrong number of 40%, that's still a 60% chance that they hit you with Ice Beam and OHKO.

As for the team, I'd recommend replacing Cradily with Blissey. Natural Cure is generally a better ability than Suction Cups, Blissey has superior special defensiveness, even in SS, and they have similar physical defensiveness. Blissey gets the advantage of Natural Cure, and you can use Ice Beam over Rock Slide. You gain a Normal and Electric resistance for a Bug and Ice weakness. Your team already has 3 normal resists, and you have Gliscor and Garchomp for those rare Electrics that don't also have an Ice attack.

you should give tyranitar EQ instead of stone edge. Ground+dark provides much better coverage than dark+rock (not walled by steels or fighters). Also, ice beam won't KO garchomp without life orb, so you may want to consider giving it life orb.

Hmm... i've never been a BIG fan of blissey but it's always worth using and it has an easier method of status absorbing as well so i might change that as well as giving TTar a life orb. As for the Ape... I'm still having trouble thinking of a counter to that.

You have a really big MixApe weak. I would suggest replacing Jirachi with Vaporeon. He can still Wish, and counters Infernape decently. Not to mention he can threaten the dragons with Ice Beam. I would reccomend Roar however you have a really big Gyarados weakness, so Hidden Power [Electric] can take him on well. Surf obviously in the last slot.

Definatly keep aerial ace on gliscor for its your best way of countering heracross. I hear scarfed heatrans are really deadly so you may want to look into that if you are using it as a sweeper. By any chance is "The Trooper" an Iron Maiden reference?

yeah The Trooper is from the Iron Maiden song lol. If I added Vaporeon, wouldn't Surf be weakened by the Sandstorm?

Unlike rain and sun, sandstorm and hail don't provide any boosts or decreases to any attacks. Sandstorm only provides a special def. boost for rock types and hail provides perfect accuracy for blizzard. (I'm not sure if its all ice moves or just blizzard, but a perfect sheer cold would be scary.)

There are some things I like about this team and stuff that I don't like about this team.

For one thing you have 3 Pokemon vulnerable to Earthquake and only 1 resist (Gliscor). If I can say another thing you're weak to it's DDTar with Earthquake / Crunch / Ice Beam. Easily switches in on Blissey and then dances once and then you're finished. Unusual for a Sandstorm team to be weak to him too...

Definately add Mixape to the mix. I'd be inclined to also add Alakazam might be able to do some damage to the team (Charge Beam / Psychic / Shadow Ball / Focus Blast). Although uncommon it's something that can cause some major problems if you aren't careful. AgilityLuke (again, somewhat uncommon) can also destroy this team alone with Close Combat and Hidden Power Ice.

So a few things. Keep Gliscor first off since he fits fine with the team. You do need something to block Heracross and simply replacing Knock Off with Stealth Rock allows you to give yourself some freedom. I'd also recommend Ice Fang > Aerial Ace. Despite the rising popularity of MoPCross you have a lot of issues if other Garchomps pop up their heads and try to take a chomp out of your team. By doing this you can free up a move for Blissey or even be able to replace her if you feel like it. In my opinion I'd just slap Vaporeon in this team as this solves another problem to this team: Gyarados! As far as anything else I'd either keep Jirachi or seek Metagross (or Bronzong if you want to) to help keep Deoxys-S at bay.

I hope I've helped a little bit.

You could consider maybe Slowbro over Jirachi if you're noticing that fighting weakness too much. Water pokemon might then become a nuisance but Jirachi probably wasn't going to do much against them without Thunder anyway.

Or Vaporeon with Wish could be good too if you don't want to lose the potential healing for your team. But fighting moves will still hit you hard.

Lead T-Tar needs Taunt. What you want to get rid of is up to you because it depends on what you fear the most. I'd get rid of Ice Beam but that's just me.
