entry hazards team

Original (Delibird) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Vital Spirit
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Ice Shard
- Focus Punch
- Aerial Ace
- Fake Out

This set is mostly to counter pokemon like smeargle, although I might change this pokemon for something else soon. Instead of Ice Shard, I had quick attack. Both moves are great for priority, but ice shard gets stab and can to a good chunk of damage to dragon types.

Focus Punch combined with Vital Spirit allows it to stay awake if a smeargle or something comes in and tries to spore it. Aerial Ace is also good for brelooms which would use spore also, this time, it would be a OHKO because Delibird will be faster than some breloom even with adamant nature. Have you not noticed Delibird is here because of sleep incucing moves?

If a pokemon is put to sleep on this team, the other player can set up and baton pass. Lastly, Fake out is there for the extra priority the first turn I send it out. Fake out can make a difference whether or not I can KO it with the other moves

Whimsicott @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 124 Def / 128 SDef / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Taunt
- Giga Drain
- Toxic
- Substitute

Obviously pokemon who can set up are a problem. Pokemon like tryranitar, ferrotress, or smeargle can just set up and put in entry hazards or incude sleep are a huge threat sometimes, and this is why I have taunt. Not only does it stop sweepers, but it also can stop other pokemon from trying to taunt aswell!

Giga Drain is a great move to have on whimsiscott because it gets STAB and it can also heal itself a little. With Giga Drian, Whimsiscott can stay alive for a longer amount of time.

Toxic and substitute work well together. Not only is toxic great for widdling down the opponent's pokemon's health, but with substitute and giga drain, toxic is very deadly. With substitute, Whimsiscott can safely go into a subtitute, toxic, and use giga drain to get more health back!

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Taunt
- Spore
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes

This smeargle is a very different set than most smeargles, sure there's spore, but that's pretty much it for the "normalness" goes. First off, taunt is great to stop sweepers and that kind of stuff, spore is great for inducing sleep, but that's not why I have it here.

Spore is here for one reason: setting up entry hazards. After all, this won't really be a entry hazard team without entry hazards right? Stealth rock and spikes can surprise MANY pokemon thinking I would go for something like shell smash. They would switch thinking I would baton pass, but instead I set up entry hazards. It works very well.

Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Trait: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 200 HP / 252 SAtk / 56 Def
Modest Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Protect
Tentacruel is basicly my bulky sweeper. It has great special defence, and decent special attack. Again, it can surprise many pokemon into thinking it's a defensive tentacruel because of toxic spikes, but then gets hit hard with scald.

Toxic spikes are obviously there to make other pokemon get poisoned when they switch in. This team can widdle down other pokemon very fast with all hazards set up. Scald is there for getting great damage, but also defensive coverage. Scald gets STAB, and also gets a chance to burn. Scald is a really great move to have on tentacruel.

Rapid spin and Protect are there for spinning away hazards that the opponent might have set up, and protect is to stal burn/ toxic damage, scout for moves, and can get more leftover recovery

Flygon @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 200 Spd / 252 Atk / 56 SAtk
Naive Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Fire Punch
- Outrage
- Earthquake
Flygon is a mixed sweeper. I'll start off with draco meteor, and then I'll just start using physical moves. It's really great when people think it's a special variant only to switch into a blissey and get KOed by another move.

Fire Punch can surprise ferrothorns or forretress with Fire Punch and potentially KOing the pokemon. Outrage and Earthquake are there for my main STAB moves.

Arcanine @ Choice Band
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature
- ExtremeSpeed
- Close Combat
- Wild Charge
- Flare Blitz

Extreme speed is a great move to have with priority. It also gets boosted with adamant nature, max attack, and choice band. Close combat is great for things like blissey, or tryranitar who would think they would have the upper hand but switching in, only to get KOed. Wild Charge is great for water coverage, and Flare Blitz is my main STAB move.

Well, I just made this team not that long ago, and just tell me what you think, or what I should replace. Thanks! :naughty:

Hey there Rainbow Crash, decent team you're teying to use here. Entry hazards are crucial fore every team, because they wear down the opposing team, allowing your sweepers to sweep your opponent much easier. You use some odd sets and Pokemon, which I like, so that's why I'm rating this team. Anyway, I'll suggest some changes in the EV and moveset department, as is my custom. Keep in mind that these changes may involve changing a Pokemon or two. Also, take these suggestions into some deep consideration and test them out before you put them into your team. Without further ado, let's get onto the rate! Delibird isn't really much of an "anti lead" as most Pokemon are, so I suggest you change it to an All Out Attacker Mienshao. Miensho's high Attack stat, decent speed and access to some high power moves, he can be a great anti-lead that can net a few KO's. Moving on, I would change Tentacruels EV spread to one of 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe. The aftermentioned EV spread allows Tentacruel to outspeed Timid Magnezone and Adamant Breloom, which would otherwise pose a huge threat to it. Moving right along, I suggest that you change Flygons set to a Choice Scarf set over your current one. When equipped with a Choice Scarf, Flygon can come in late-game and sweep the opponent after they have been worn down with hazards. Well, that's all I have to say for now. I hope my advice helped just a bit. Have fun and good luck with your team!
