Pre-test notes:

Miltank:
-Utility set seems fine (Seismic Toss might be worthy of a slash over STAB)
-Mono Attacking Curse seems fine.

-Will test Curse + 2 Attacks. It's fine; not too sure on the EV spread though.
-Will test CB (seems like an inferior Kangaskhan though) CB Miltank's ability to beat Rotom and the base 95 Speed tier is the only reason I would use this. Has been pretty mediocre outside of outspeeding Arcanine, Houndoom, Uxie, etc.; I think it's AC material...but outspeeding all those base 95s is pretty cool so I'm still a bit uncertain.
-Maybe an LO / similar offensive set would be worth a try since it only really has three viable attacking options. LO Miltank is too weak. I can't get over recovery + Speed though. AC material. Actually, might give this another try with Double-Edge > Return, and possibly Rock Slide.
-Analysis needs to be UUified.

Results:

-Find optimal EV spread(s).

Moltres:
-LO and Toxic Staller look pretty good as is.
-Don't know if Specs is worth it when LO tres can 2HKO almost everything with LO. Will test.
Surprise 2HKO on Milotic was cool, but inability to switch attacks makes this AC material imo.
-Will test Scarf as well. Yeah, Scarf Moltres is fine.
-Sunny Day is pretty gimmicky, but I've seen it work to an extent for teams that rely on Milotic as their sole Moltres counter. Will test.

-Rest/Sleep Talk (Heysup's request)I already dislike lack of Flying STAB on RestTalk Moltres, and am wary to try it without HP Grass with all the Milotic running around. It has had situational use for me, though.

Results:

-Move Specs set to AC.
-Mention RestTalk in AC

Nidoking:
-Will test Ice Beam on physical set. It does more to Tangrowth and Donphan than Megahorn even with a -SpA nature, although you do lose either priority or to Uxie / Mesprit now.
-Will test Substitute on physical set. Yeah, I realized that I was basically using a worse Rhyperior.
-Other options might be worthy of merit on the Lead set: Megahorn (Psychic pixies) or Stone Edge (Moltres).

Spiritomb:
-Psychic might deserve a mention on some sets (Toxicroak and other Fighters)

-Will test Return on the CB set.
-Shadow Sneak on the defensive lead (which operates well outside of the lead position) is worth a mention to more comfortably deal with Mismagius and Rotom.
-Curse seems like a gimmick to me.Curse surprisingly worked pretty well.

Results:

-I'm leaning towards reorganizing all the Tomb sets, perhaps as such:

  • Choice Band
  • Attacking Lead
  • Physical (the Defensive lead)
  • Defensive (Curse and RestTalk)
  • CM RestTalk
-Want to check the EV spreads a bit. 252 HP / 252 SDef isn't anywhere on there.

All for now, although I probably missed a few ideas.

I recommend testing Return on the Choice Band set for Spiritomb. It hits Houndoom and others hard, while actually being it's most powerful reliable physical attack.

Id really like the Curse Set on Spiritomb to stay if possible, sure it looks like a gimmick but its rather useful. Myself, IPL and several other players have used it on harcore stall teams it it really is a fantastic "win condition" and last Pokemon stopper for these sorts of teams.

Yeah, that's incidentally what the on-site description says lol. I've seen ipl use it as well and still think it's gimmicky (too situational). At any rate, I don't see why it deserves its own set rather than a slash on defensive Tomb, but I guess we'll see.

When Xia was originally writing this I told him not to even write lead in the title because IMO that set is better off not as lead, or was when I was using it ~9 months ago. I think it should be mentioned that it can be used as a lead, but I think the prior two sets are better in that role, as the defensive one is just kind of caught in no-man's-land and doesn't accomplish much at all. It's better for stopping threats, spin blocking, etc., although you may want to evaluate the effectiveness of the EV spread at doing that.
