[epic]gyrados[/epic]

this is my epicdos
set name-hydracodos
gyrados@life orb
quiet
252 sp.att 120 defense 90 attack 46 hp
thunder wave
ice beam
earthquake
thunder

This set isnt meant to lead a team its meant to have someone scout for a while, to make sure I get to see all there pokemon or at least a good majority of them. Then I will start to use my epic predicting skills and hit whatever comes in with two moves that hit e-vires and ground types and have awsome general type coverage with thunder. Thunder ohkos a starmie most the time and im going to be using this in a rain dance team so it won't miss. I'm using ice beam over ice fang for donphans and hippodons along with more power it will ohko dragonight and his dragon friends. Thunder wave so you can take advantage of your evs and be faster than anything. Earthquake is for other electric types who come in but by that point you have scouted there team out and will predict the electric/ground switch in.

please leave friendly comments and DO NOT tell me to just use the standard set.

Special attacks? :S
[epicfail]Gyarados[/epicfail]
Nah, J/k,

But wouldn't you do more to Hippodon and friends with a DD Icefang than ice beam off that Satk...

The only issue is that, it would get walled by the usual walls, however beat the offensive monsters. It does roughly 86% min to Starmie while 101% max, so if you have Stealth Rocks out, you could get a score on the switch. It's a shame you'd have to make it Life Orb though, as it hurts it's ability to switch into the Dragons, or at least phsyical versions.

yeah that was the problem i saw in it but it does owngyradoses ussual counters and it tends to beat up skarm pretty badly too

I find this set very creative...using the standard set is so un-original...

Though the standard set is no doubt the most affective, this is an interesting and somewhat useful set.

However, I really dislike the lack of STAB, but other than that, very creative! =D

i was thinking of waterfall but this gives better type coverage so i went went eq for a pysical stab move. i also like eq more because after you scout for a while you know if they have any e-vires to switch into

Surely you could do more to Hippowdon and friends with a DD Icefang than an icebeam coming off 60 base attack...

Reaches 360 special attack with specs, 312 with life orb (30% right), with 252 evs and a boosting nature, you have a chance to KO Skarm with Fire Blast. With 160 Attack evs (326) + Life orb, you 3hko Blissey if you factor in leftovers (43-51%). 222 speed (96 evs) seems like a good benchmark. Doesnt seem entirely worth it to me, but you still have intimidate, and that nice typing (obviously).

As I said, this set definitely can't be compared with the standard set, but its creative. It gets tiring to see the same BulkyGyrados (AKA Taunt, DD, Waterfall, Earthquake).

Yes, but in a competitive environment, it works.

Taunt ruins Skarm anyway, so there isnt any *real* need to go mixed.

ugh.

Do you really think that a Gyarados after a DD is less effective than a Gyarados after a TWave? It's standard for a reason. Your set gets mauled by at least three quarters of what Gyarados usually switches safely into under the standard set.

you could also.. taunt skarm.. and dd while it switches.

you could.. waterfall that blissey for a 2hko after a dd...

AND I'M NOT EVEN BUILDING HIM TO COUNTER SKARMBLISS! RRRRRREFL

Your gyara is a poop lol

...this wasnt meant to brack walls and it does outclass the standard set with because it ohkos starmie takes care of e-vires ohko dragons and does more damage right off the bat than ice fang against hippodon and donphan...cuz who really wants to take a stone dge before they get pleasure???

You 'take care' of electivire without having an electric move (t-wave), and using EQ after DDing on the switch... Being slower, and relying on prediction isnt taking care of something.
