Choice Band Escavalier really appreciates the rise of metagame threats like Gardevoir and Bronzong, as it can freely switch into them and cripple them with Pursuit as they switch out or take advantage of the free turn and nuke something with one of its STAB attacks. Knock Off helps Escavalier against Pokemon like Gligar that usually wall it, and the Speed investment lets it outpace base 30 Speed Pokemon, notably Snorlax and Slowbro. Teammates that resist Fire-type attacks, like Diancie and Flygon, are needed because they can take advantage of Choice-locked attackers like Ninetales that heavily threaten Escavalier. Other Pokemon like Salazzle and Gardevoir appreciate Escavalier's ability to smash the opposition, as it gives them more potential to clean. Pokemon that appreciate Pursuit support, like Roserade and Vanilluxe, are amazing teammates as well. However, play carefully with Pursuit, as it can give sweepers like Dragon Dance Flygon free opportunities to set up, and watch out for potential Hidden Power Fire from Pokemon like Roserade and Gardevoir!
