Introduction

Although we have a lot to thank Arceus for, people and pokemon alike have complained for eons about rare occurences such as:
Critical Hit!
___ flinched.
___ is fully paralyzed.
___ hurt itself in confusion!
Why he teamed with lady luck to create these things that always seem to change the results of battles, nobody knows.

Extended Intro:

While Serene Grace users such as Togekiss and Jirachi (and to a lesser extent, Dunsparce) are obvious appeals to the overseers, there are less common prayers.

Some, such as Honchcrow and Absol, try with their ability of Super Luck to gain the ability to hit pokemon in their nads more often. Where they hit on female pokemon, I am not sure. Others try to confuse their opponents to the point of hitting themselves. (Never in the nads, apparently.) Even more paralyze their opponents into a state of being unable to move.

Now, think of a team that puts all of the most annoying things in the pokemon world together, making a group of pokemon the servants of the creators themselves. They would attempt to make you hit yourself as much as possible, make you unable to move the most amount of times, and make you most of all flinch to your utter demise.

This is the goal of these six regular citizens, to paralyze, confuse and flinch as many pokemon as they possibly can. The effects of this treatment very from person to person, but most end up looking like the picture of the man up at the top of this screen. Tried. Annoyed. Exasperated.

And so I bring you, without further ado (except for the disclaimer), Team Exasperation: The Taming of Lady Luck

Disclaimer

Though the (very) long introduction (basically) states that this team is near perfect, I know it is not. Please state any pokemon you feel could fulfill the role of annoying better than the stated pokemon.

Yes this team is based solely on luck, but there are probably better pokemon than I have listed to appeal to the pokemon gods. Suggestions are welcome.

The Team
065Alakazam.png

Alakazam@Focus Sash
252SpA/252Spe/4HP - Timid
~Thunder Wave
~Swagger
~Encore
~Psychic

Alakazam is the lead for one reason: It is the fastest user of both Thunder Wave and Encore. With these two moves, it can just Twave any lead that wants to set up rocks and then encore the rocks. This forces a switch, which means another pokemon paralyzed.

Pokemon that are paralyzed are very important, as I do not run speed EVs on anything else in this team. 5 of the 6 pokemon here have Thunder Wave, and the only one that doesn't (Togekiss) has Secret Power, which has a 60% chance of paralyzing after Serene Grace. Because of this, speed EVs are near worthless considering I could go for bulk instead.

Although Swagger is a dangerous move on physical sweepers, I use it on 3 of my 6 pokemon because of its ability, after a Thunder Wave, to make it so people can only attack 37.5% of the time. It also allows me to Psych Up the attack boost, which I utilize on both my Regi's.

Focus Sash lets me always get a Twave off on something, which lets either of my Serene Grace users eat them alive.

377Regirock.png

Regirock@Leftovers
252HP/252SpD/4Def - Impish
~Thunder Wave
~Swagger
~Psych Up
~Rock Slide

There are very few things that have enough raw power to 2HKO any of the Regi family.

On both of my Regis, situations usually go like this:
Pokemon uses attacking move
Regi loses anywhere from 30%-60% of health
Regi uses Thunder Wave
Pokemon now only has a 75% chance of attacking
Regi gets ~6% health back from lefties
------
Regi uses Swagger
Pokemon is confused, leaving it with only a 37.5% chance to make the follow up KO/2HKO
Regi gets lefties every time they can't attack

As you can see, the chance of them being able to beat a Regi becomes slim. They are then liable to try and get rid of their confusion, which means I can paralyze another pokemon (It will be a secondary counter, and will rarely do more than 40% to me) and make another one easy bait for my SGers.

Not only that, but check this calculation out:
75% chance of attacking after twave
50% after a Swagger
70% after a Rock Slide
.75 x .7 x .5 = .2625

In other words, after the flinching chance of Rock Slide is factored in, the opponent only has a 26.25% chance of attacking. That is one mean hunk of rocks.

379Registeel.png

Registeel@Leftovers
252HP/252Def/4SpD - Impish
~Thunder Wave
~Swagger
~Psych Up
~Iron Head

They thought they were done when they got rid of Rock, but now they're seeing double.

He plays exactly like Regirock, but with a plethora of extra resistances. All the calculations made in Regirock's description also apply here.

Have fun trying to take down a bulky pokemon when you only have a 25% chance of hitting it.

Fan%20Rotom.png

Rotom-s@Leftovers
252HP/252Def/4SpD - Bold
~Thunder Wave
~Confuse Ray
~Charge Beam
~Shadow Ball

You've seen the somewhat common Thunder Wave/Sub set on Rotom, where you rely on a 25% chance of being fully paralyzed to get up a sub and then fire a Charge Beam off. Intead of waiting for a 25% chance, why not make them have only a 37.5% chance of attacking you? You are then free to start letting free Charge Beams and sweeping with a decent STAB type combination.

You can easily get 2 or 3 Charge Beams off with this set most of the time, which allows for some pretty clean sweeping afterward with Shadow Ball.

He also serves as something to eat the ground and fighting moves aimed at the two Regis. He also provides some much needed special attacking.

070418jirachi.jpg

Jirachi@Leftovers
252HP/252Att/4Def - Adamant
~Thunder Wave
~Iron Head
~Zen Headbutt
~Ancientpower

Yep, the king of hax himself.

Take a moment to bask in its glory.
...
Take another moment to think of its glorious bulk and typing.
...
Take another moment to think of its lovely, beautiful, haxy ability.
...
Take another moment to think of both these with paralysis support.
...
Take a final moment to think if it had all of these, plus confusion support.
...
Bask in its glory again.

...

That's right. After paralysis (.75) and flinch (.4) there is a 30% chance of the opponent attacking. If I'm able to come in on a confused pokemon (.5), the figure drops even further to 15%. Yes, that is a 15% chance of attacking. 15%.

Jirachi is cleanup sweeper #1.

468Togekiss.png

Togekiss@Leftovers
252HP/252Def/4SpA - Bold
~Secret Power
~Air Slash
~Aura Sphere
~Nasty Plot

The Duke of hax.

I won't make you be silent as much as you had to be for Jirachi, but this kid is still dang good.

Air Slash, although with a (slightly) shaky accuracy of 95 makes for a slightly larger chance of the opposing pokemon to attack, allows Togekiss to clean up on anything that Jirachi cannot, along with being immune to ground types, which helps Kiss out greatly.

Threats

Not much can take repeated beatings from lady luck herself, but there sure are some things that can annoy the ultimate annoyer strategy:

Clerics
Ground types in general
Limber pokemon
RestTalkers
Toxic Spikes (Regirock at least)
People that burn stuff
Breloom
Fast subbers (Raikou)

Maybe a cleric of my own could help?

Final Thoughts

Wow, you made it this far! That's great! By now you're probably

picard-sigh.jpg

...Thinking really hard about suggestions. Feel free to post them if you want to improve this freakishly fiendishly evil team.

Clefable is a great suggestion. I'm hard-pressed to find a spot for it though.

I'm also thinking about all the switching the confusion causes and figure that entry hazards would be very nice. Can anyone think of some annoyers that could still place entry hazards?

Simply replace SR with T Wave on Regirock. You already have para support one 4 pokemon, losing one wouldn't be that big of a deal. I suggest replacing Regirock for Clefable, as it is just doing similar things to Registeel.

Okay, I'm trying a Clefable over Regirock. We'll see how this plays out.

I'm actually trying a lot of new things that for some reason I neglected in the last 3 days of playtesting. They are:

Lead Froslass with Spikes, Twave, Confuse Ray and Shadow Ball

Curse over Psych Up on Registeel

Iron Defense over Ancientpower on Jirachi

Because Hax has no counters at all, you really seem to have everything covered. You must be careful of Thunder Wave on your opponents team, so a cleric sounds pretty good. Celebi can make an excellent Cleric in OU.

Celebi@ Leftovers
Natural Cure
Bold nature (+Defense, -Attack)
252 HP/220 Defense/36 Speed

Grass Knot
Recover
Heal Bell
Leech Seed

It can prove to be an excellent annoyer between Leech Seed and Leftovers. Grass Knot is a decent STAB option, while Heal Bell is your move to cure status.

Hope I helped, and Good Luck!

Pikachu, Body Slam is illegal with Nasty Plot on Togekiss.

I'll put in Celebi over Regirock. I think it will help greatly with my severe weakness to status. Well, I'll playtest it first :D

I'm happy for all the enthusiasm so far :P

EDIT: Celebi over Regirock leaves me with a massive Fire weakness. I really need something that can take Fire attacks. Maybe Miltank?

You definitely want SR, if not more entry hazards on your team. Between Twave, confusion, and flinching, you will be forcing switches rediculously fast. SR can go on Regirock, or if you want someone dedicated to getting hazards out, Forretress is sturdy and has 3 hazards in 1.

You know, after glancing over your team, SubPetaya Agility Empoleon can beat your team quite badly, especially if it gets in on one of your Regis. Then it just has to Agility Up, activate Petaya Berry, and sweep you. I haven't done damage calcs (you might want to check), but I think it can beat almost every Pokemon on your team, and once it's behind a Substitute, you can't really threaten it with anything besides Togekiss's Aura Sphere, but you will be outsped and takes 82-96% damage from +1 Torrent Surf. I'm not entirely sure what you can do to fix this without ruining your 'hax' strategy, but you could try a CM Latias over one of your Regis.

Forretress over Regirock is definitely something I'll try.

As far as Empoleon goes, most sub/stat up sweepers can sweep this whole team. CMJirachi and Raikou deserve special mention. Could a Blissey fit anywhere, with Seismic Toss/Twave/Softboiled/SR maybe?

I'm also going to try a lead Jolteon, who has a speed-tie chance of beating Aerodactyl before the taunt.

I haven't had much time to playtest today, but hopefully I'll be able to get some things done.

Oh, and Toxic Spikes on Forretress is counterproductive since then I couldn't paralyze things, so no TS.

substitute is king, nuff said, especially since both regis only have 1 attack, which each has a very common resist, jirachi has no speed investment and togekiss has no special attack investment, hence the subber doesnt even have to be fast, it can just wait until a regi has haxed it to death and then come in and set up a sub (can somebody say SubCM Jirachi? o.o) sub heatran also runs through this team. completely.

my fix for this: use your own subber! with such low probability of them hitting you anyways, i was surprised you didnt try to abuse it. imo substitute can go better than ancientpower on jirachi. you wont be using ancientpower much, as using it over iron head more than doubles their chance of attacking (lol)

also id recommend replacing rotom. rotom isnt exactly doing much here and you can use this slot to patch up a lot of holes. id actually put a scarf flygon (lol) here and this is why:
first of all you have 2 great ice resists
it counters most subbers, and outruns most subpetaya empoleon after their agility :p
u-turn can be ridiculously useful on this hax team, since having the upper hand on the switch = free thunder wave
you still need the ability to revenge kill >.<

With all this paralysis support, having Machamp somewhere would be very cool, with his 100% confusion rate. A Resttalker would probably be fine, as thanks to the confusion+paralysis, along with your bulk, you can really have Machamp last a long time.

I'd put him over...Regirock.

Thanks for all of the rates so far! Been up for like 14 hours and still on the front page!

Most of the playtest pokemon I've done have detracted from the team so far. I've found spikes don't help as much as I was hoping they would.

There is a Jolteon lead I've been trying, which I might edit in soon. I think I like it better than my Zam.

I was actually just thinking about sticking in Machamp, he seems to be a great, bulky choice for a sweeper, especially when DynamicPunch fits the team so well! A Bulk Up/Rest/Sleep Talk/Dynamic Punch set would be amazing!

Actually, just thinking about makes me want to edit it in now before playtesting. It solves my status problem, as it could act as a great status absorber also. The set would leave me weak to Gengar/Dusknoir though.

I am hesitant to put Body Slam on Jirachi because I usually end up using Jirachi on one last pokemon that wasn't paralyzed. The last pokemon is NEVER a ground type because Registeel and Regirock do such a great job luring ground types out and getting them out quite quickly. The difference between the accuracy of paralyzing is the difference between Hypnosis and Spore - definitely game changing.

As far as subbers go, yes they completely beat this team. A CMJirachi/CMRaikou/SubTran totally runs through me.

I will try a Flygon over Rotom and a Machamp over Regirock/Registeel, separately and then together. Any other options to beat subbers would be welcome.

Oh and FYI:

I'm also quite an avid UU player and love the metagame there. I made a team much like this one that focuses on Dunsparce flinching things to death, so if anyone has any ideas of ANY parafusioners, not just OU ones (remember that most every pokemon in the metagame it seems gets Swagger :P) that could work well, feel free to post!

Pikachu, Body Slam is illegal with Nasty Plot on Togekiss.

Well there's always secret power.

I love the concept of a hax team. Perhaps it's because I am evil and sadistic and would like nothing more than to watch my opponent bash his own head in out of frustration. You could try running tri attack on togekiss or giving him a scope lens(you might just wanna stick with what you have already though).

You could also try putting ice punch on jirachi and hope for freeze hax.

Problem:

Electivire.

With all of those TWave's being thrown around, Electivire should be dying to come in and get a motor drive boost.

Solution:

Rotom-H (Levitate / Leftovers / Bold)

A standard Rotom-H set or sleeptalk set;
Discharge (30% paralyze rate) STAB.
Will-O-Wisp (cripple physical attackers like Electivire who are immune to TWave)
Rest / Shadow Ball / HP fighting
Sleep Talk / Overheat / HP fighting

Electivire, to a lesser extent Jolteon, and to an even lesser extent Ground-types ruin your day.

Dugtrio is a revenge killer who is immune to Thunder Wave, Flygon is fairly common in OU, and easily wipes half of your team.

To counter this provide Will-o-wisp on your Rotom so that he can cripple physical sweepers. On an offnote consider Toxic on one of the Regis to cripple others in general, since you already have a bunch of Thunder Wave users.
