Excadrill cements itself as a staple on sand teams thanks to its great offensive capabilities with Swords Dance and Sand Rush. After a Swords Dance boost, it can effectively outspeed and break through a large portion of the metagame with its strong STAB moves. Steelium Z allows Excadrill to eliminate chipped switch-ins such as Buzzwole, Ting Lu, and Tangrowth after a Swords Dance boost. Rapid Spin supports the team while also making sure that Excadrill can beat other Sand Rush Excadrill and Unburden Hawlucha. If a teammate can remove entry hazards, Rock Slide is an alternative that stops Celesteela and Skarmory from stonewalling Excadrill, as well as handling threats such as Gyarados, Moltres, and both Thundurus formes. As a Sand Rush sweeper, Excadrill needs to partner with Tyranitar or Hippowdon to outpace the entire metagame. Strong wallbreakers like Choice Band Tyranitar, Latios, and Dracozolt form a strong offensive core with Excadrill to help overwhelm its checks such as Slowbro or Skarmory. In return, Excadrill can pressure threats such as Iron Hands, Galarian Slowking, and Iron Treads for them, respectively. Additionally, Choice Scarf users such as Meowscarada, Latias, and Tapu Fini can help pressure some of Excadrill's checks, such as Buzzwole and Tangrowth, while also acting as secondary speed control options outside of sand. Tapu Fini in particular is a great partner to protect Excadrill from burns while setting up, thanks to its Misty Terrain, while also handling Buzzwole and Ting-Lu for it. Slowbro and Slowking handle Fighting- and Fire-types for it such as Buzzwole and Victini, as well as providing Future Sight support and safely getting Excadrill on the field with Teleport. Other Pokemon such as Serperior, Aegislash, and Moltres are valuable support options that can handle its checks, such as Slowbro or Skarmory, while spreading status such as paralysis or Toxic for Excadrill to break through threats more easily.

Excadrill is a strong offensive spinner thanks to its ability to pressure common entry hazard setters, such as Clefable and Tyranitar, while serving as a strong check to common pivots such as Galarian Slowking and Aegislash. The listed EV spread outruns Jolly Mega Tyranitar, and the Attack EVs and nature make Excadrill less passive against threats such as Mega Latias and Scizor; the specific listed arrangement slightly optimizes the stat. The rest of the EVs are dumped into Special Defense to better check threats such as Aegislash and Mega Latias. Toxic is a great option to cripple common switch-ins to Excadrill such as Buzzwole, Tangrowth, and Slowbro while pressuring other threats such as Latias, Ting-Lu, and Mega Sableye, providing more long-term support for its teammates. Iron Head can be used to check threats such as Clefable more easily. Swords Dance is an option, if running Iron Head instead of Toxic, to become a powerful setup sweeper. If running Swords Dance, then a more offensive EV spread of 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used. Stealth Rock is another option that gives Excadrill additional role compression as a hazard setter. Excadrill can also run Tera types such as Fairy and Flying to take advantage of its checks. Fairy is valuable to check Dragon- and Dark-types such as Latios and Hydreigon in an emergency, and it's generally better than Flying defensively, while Flying lets Excadrill handle Ground-types such as Ting-Lu and Hippowdon. Excadrill can struggle against physical walls such as Slowbro, Buzzwole, Skarmory, and Celesteela. Serperior, Moltres, Latios, and the Thundurus formes can help deal with those defensive checks, and in return, Excadrill can check threats such as Aegislash and Galarian Slowking for them. Excadrill can be forced out by faster threats such as Galarian Zapdos, Cinderace, Iron Moth, and Blacephalon; defensive Pokemon such as Slowbro and Tapu Fini can help manage them, and these also give Excadrill slow pivoting in Teleport and Misty Terrain, respectively. Other defensive pivots such as Tangrowth and Tapu Bulu can help deal with Ground- and Water-type checks such as Iron Treads, Ting-Lu, Gastrodon, and Tapu Fini; however, run High Horsepower instead of Earthquake if pairing with Tapu Bulu due to Grassy Terrain cutting Earthquake's power in half. In return, Excadrill can remove threats such as offensive Jirachi and Nihilego for them.

Excadrill can function as a great suicide lead on hyper offense teams, having the unique ability to set up entry hazards against stall teams thanks to Mold Breaker bypassing Mega Sableye's Magic Bounce. Rapid Spin prevents opposing entry hazards from being set. Steel Beam allows Excadrill to go out while generating momentum for its teammates, as well as preventing common Defoggers such as Tapu Fini and Moltres from clearing its Stealth Rock. Toxic is another option to cripple opposing hazard setters and Mega Sableye long-term. Focus Sash is an important item to ensure that Excadrill can reliably set Stealth Rock. Although Excadrill rarely uses Terastallization, Tera Ghost allows it to block Rapid Spin attempts from opposing Excadrill and Iron Treads. Excadrill can struggle against threats such as Skarmory, Celesteela, Gyarados, and Moltres due to their Ground immunities; strong setup sweepers such as the Thundurus formes, Meteor Beam Celesteela, and Nihilego can pressure them for it. Excadrill's Rapid Spin is especially beneficial for setup sweepers otherwise vulnerable to Stealth Rock, such as Gyarados and Focus Sash Polteageist.

Steelium Z allows Excadrill to eliminate would be checks chipped switch-ins More appropriate wording considering how much prior chip you need to reliably do this against all possible variants of these mons. such as Buzzwole, Ting Lu and Tangrowth after a Swords Dance boost. Tera Ground with Life Orb is an alternative to Steelium Z in order to OHKO Slowbro after a Swords Dance boost, but it fails to hit any other relevant Pokemon. Rapid Spin lets Excadrill support its team by clearing entry hazards while also making sure that it can beat other Sand Rush Excadrill and Unburden Hawlucha. If hazard removal is already covered on another Pokemon, Make this clear since you generally use this as a luxury on the rare occasion where you can fit other forms of removal, which sand doesn't typically have many slots for as opposed to the other benefits that driller provides when doing it. Rock Slide is an alternative to Rapid Spin that allows Excadrill to avoid being stonewalled by Celesteela and Skarmory, while also getting the jump on threats such as Gyarados, Moltres, and both Thundurus forms. As a Sand Rush sweeper, Excadrill needs to partner with strong sand setters such as Tyranitar and Hippowdon in order to outpace the entire metagame. Serperior, Moltres, Latios, and Dracozolt are solid partners that form a strong offensive core to handle most of Excadrill's checks such as Slowbro, Buzzwole, Skarmory, and Celesteela. Worth adding speed control-oriented offensive options in its own subcategory since relying on sand for speed control to function can be v unreliable, you partially go into this already so do expand upon these mentions. Tapu Fini is another great partner to avoid Excadrill from getting burned while setting up thanks to Misty Terrain support, while also handling Buzzwole and Ting-Lu for it. Slowbro and Slowking are also good partners that handle Fighting and Fire types for it such as Buzzwole and Victini, as well as provide Future Sight support and safely get Excadrill on the field with Teleport. Add teammates that appreciate Excadrill's speed control and removal options, including slower breakers like Band TTar.

The one from the comp is dated as it stands rn, so we're currently going with the set from the spreadsheet as the main one. Speed outruns Jolly mttar, while hitting an extra attack point. Rest in SpDef over HP to check things like Aegi and Latias better since it's more worthwhile to invest there.

Excadrill is able to serve as a strong offensive Rapid Spinner and setup sweeper on offense teams thanks to Mold Breaker allowing it to bypass Unaware users such as Clefable and Tera Water Skeledirge. Mold Breaker also allows Excadrill to hit Latios, Latias, and Hydreigon with Earthquake thanks to it bypassing Levitate. Excadrill can run Tera Poison to setup on threats such as Buzzwole, Galarian Zapdos, and Iron Hands while also maintaining its immunity to Toxic. Tera Flying is also an option to additionally setup on Iron Treads and opposing Excadrill, but at the cost of a weaker defensive typing and lack of Toxic immunity. Rapid Spin is necessary for Excadrill so that it can outpace the entire unscarfed metagame while also being able to clear entry hazards for its team. Excadrill can struggle against physical walls such as Slowbro, Buzzwole, Skarmory, and Celesteela. Serperior, Moltres, Latios, and the Thundurus forms can help deal with those defensive checks. Excadrill also has difficulties against faster threats such as Galarian Zapdos, Cinderace, Iron Moth, and Blacephalon, so defensive Pokémon such as Slowbro and Tapu Fini can help manage them. To be more explicit on the defensive mentions, what does driller check for them and other pivot mentions like Tangrowth in return to make them synergize well?

Make sure to adjust the details to match the set given above before I recheck this, Max Attack + Speed with Jolly is also fine to keep as an option and works better when paired with SD, which I'd def point out.

Stealth Rock and Rapid Spin are required moves for Excadrill that allow it to set entry hazards while also preventing opposing entry hazards from being set. Earthquake is also necessary to hit other threats such as Tyranitar-Mega, Aegislash, Iron Treads, and opposing Excadrill, ensuring is not too passive while setting up. Iron Head is an option to hit Clefable and Grimmsnarl for big damage. Steel Beam can be run as an alternative to allow Excadrill to go out on its own terms and maintain its momentum, while also preventing opposing Excadrill, Iron Treads, You already go into spinners with tera ghost next paragraph, so its better to list other defog examples like fini here which beam specifically deters here and Moltres from clearing its entry hazards. Toxic is another option to cripple opposing hazard setters and Mega Sableye. Although Excadrill rarely uses terastallization, tera Ghost is an option that allows it to block attempts from opposing Exadrill and Iron Treads from spinning away its entry hazards. Excadrill can struggle into threats such as Skarmory, Celesteela, Gyarados and Moltres due to their Ground immunity, so a strong setup sweepers such as the Thundurus forms, Meteor Beam Celesteela, and Nihilego can pressure them for it. In return, Excadrill can make sure hazards stay off the field for setup sweepers such as Gyarados and Polteageist.

Not 1/1 yet, but pm me once you find this to be ready for another check, there's plenty of missed details here content-wise that I'd just like to see done right before the stamp, and I appreciate the effort already put into this so far.

After a Swords Dance boost, it can effectively outspeed and break a large portion of the metagame with its strong STABs, while also outspeeding most of the offensive metagame. Should've noticed that you could just merge both statements together since they contribute to the same point last time, mb. Steelium Z allows Excadrill to eliminate chipped switch-ins such as Buzzwole, Ting Lu and Tangrowth after a Swords Dance boost. Tera Ground with Life Orb is an alternative to Steelium Z in order to OHKO Slowbro, Hippowdon, and Tera Water Amoonguss I assume? after a Swords Dance boost, but it fails to hit any other relevant Pokemon. Rapid Spin lets Excadrill support its team by clearing entry hazards while also making sure that it can beat other Sand Rush Excadrill and Unburden Hawlucha. If hazard removal is already covered on another Pokemon, Rock Slide is an alternative to Rapid Spin that allows Excadrill to avoid being stonewalled by Celesteela and Skarmory, while also getting the jump on wording typically gets associated with outspeeding key targets, so don't recommend using this here over other phrases like "nailing" or "covering" instead. threats such as Gyarados, Moltres, and both Thundurus forms. As a Sand Rush sweeper, Excadrill needs to partner with strong sand setters such as Tyranitar and Hippowdon in order to outpace the entire metagame. Serperior, Moltres, Latios, and Dracozolt are also solid partners that form a strong offensive core to handle help overwhelm most of Excadrill's checks such as Slowbro, Buzzwole, Skarmory, and Celesteela. Imo the paragraph here and the other one shares a lot of redundant info, especially as you state similar things about what checks they help pressure for driller, it would be better to focus strictly on breakers that help force damage here (band ttar, latios dracozolt, zam .etc), and move other supporting mons (serp, dirge, subtox aegi) to the end. Additionally, Choice Scarf users such as Galarian Zapdos Best to change this to Meow since I find this to lack the longevity needed to be effective long-term on Sand, especially if you keep Band/BU GZap as a mention already, Latias, and Tapu Fini are good partners that can help pressure some of Excadrill's checks such as Buzzwole and Tangrowth while also acting as a secondary speed control option outside of sand., since relying solely on Excadrill's Sand Rush as speed control can be a crutch at times. Wouldn't the best way to word this personally. Tapu Fini in particular is a great partner to avoid Excadrill from getting burned while setting up thanks to Misty Terrain support, while also handling Buzzwole and Ting-Lu for it. Slowbro and Slowking are also good partners that handle Fighting and Fire types for it such as Buzzwole and Victini, as well as provide Future Sight support and safely get Excadrill on the field with Teleport. Wallbreakers such as Choice Band Tyranitar, Galarian Zapdos and Buzzwole appreciate Excadrill being able to outmaneuver faster threats such as Cinderace, Iron Moth, and Nihilego thanks to Sand Rush. Alternatively, Iron Head can be used to check threats such as Clefable easier and can even be used in conjunction with Toxic so Excadrill can further handle a large portion of the metagame. Fluff considering that you already go into detail about what Tox does above. Swords Dance is an alternative if running Iron Head instead of Toxic, allowing Excadrill to become a powerful setup sweeper. If running Swords Dance, then an alternate EV spread of 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with a Jolly nature can be used to better capitalise on Excadrill's offensive prowess. Stealth Rock is another option that lets gives Excadrill additional role compression by both being as a hazard setter and remover. Paraphrasing Excadrill can also run tera types such as Fairy or Flying to flip matchups against common checks such as Latios, Buzzwole, Tangrowth, and Galarian Zapdos. Makes this whole bit too long imo, I'd just condense mentions of what these Tera types help against into their respective descriptions and what one covers over the other. Tera Fairy is very valuable since it lets Excadrill maintain a strong defensive profile due to its new typing, allowing it to check (mention), however, Tera Flying is also beneficial to abuse threats such as Ting Lu, Iron Treads, and opposing Excadrill albeit at the cost of a worse defensive typing. Excadrill can struggle against physical walls such as Slowbro, Buzzwole, Skarmory, and Celesteela. Excadrill can struggle into against threats such as Skarmory, Celesteela, Gyarados, (AC) and Moltres due to their Ground immunity, so immunities; strong setup sweepers such as the Thundurus forms, formes, Meteor Beam Celesteela, and Nihilego can pressure them for it. Excadrill's Rapid Spin support is also especially beneficial for setup sweepers otherwise vulnerable to Stealth Rock, such as Gyarados and Focus Sash Polteageist.
