Magnezone @ Air Balloon
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Flash Cannon

I choose magnet pull primarily to try to deal with opposing corviknight/Skarmory. But also with other steels that threaten tapu lele. And to force switch’s on fairy types aiming at tyranitar / picks off most fairy types. Volt switch is a good pivot out move. Body press for steels that aren’t also part flying and thunderbolt & flash cannon for stab. Air balloon as to not get ripped apart by ground type moves. I opted for a quiet nature for more stab power but I’ve been debating on a bold nature for body press.

Gyarados @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Moxie
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Ice Fang
- Waterfall
- Power Whip
The idea behind this was simple at its core. Use it as a glass canon by Finding a time to safely pull of a dragon dance. Rack up kos get moxie boosts. A jolly nature to most out speed weakened foes after a boost. Debating on switching out for a more utility style pokomen. maybe one that deals with hazards and status conditions that this team is so easily exploited by.

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Draco Meteor
- Earth Power
- Heat Wave

This is one of my favorite mons on the team because it’s so versatile. So I like to use it as my lead for a couple reasons. Most expect a physical set but since I opted for a special set as its SpA stat isn’t awful. Scarf out speed almost everything and allows me to keep a one up on dragapult/tapu koko/zeraora/ Garchomps who aren’t scarfed themselves with both draco meteor and earth power stabs. Heatwave for coverage and U-turn to immediately pivot out of unfavorable match up or predicted switch outs to more favorable teammates

Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Thunder Wave
I like this set on Tyranitar it can reliably set up stealth rocks. Thunder wave for speed control for the team to start picking apart. Stone edge for stab over rock blast for more consistent damage. Earthquake because it’s a good move to have. Also added perk of being able to occasionally switch in and change the weather on a lot of rain teams that may appear.

Tapu Lele @ Choice Specs
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Energy Ball
- Focus Blast
- Extrasensory
Now we move on to the two powerhouses of this team. Choice specs tapu lele is powerhouse special attacker. Moonblast tears tho most everything that doesn’t resist or immune to it. Specs psychic terrain extra sensory is also extremely powerful. I chose it and over psychic because of the added pp but also the occasional flinch is nice. Focus blast for worst cases where lele has to fight steel types and energy ball really for the occasional swamperts/ seismitoad/ Water types. Overall I’m pretty happy with this set as it handles a variety of situations okay.

Darmanitan @ Choice Band
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Iron Head
The sheer power this set brings to the table still blows my mind every time lol. Stab Fire blitz does massive damage on everything even things that resist it like max hp bold natured toxpex can deal 35-41%damage. Superpower is useful as is u turn to deal massive damage out on a pivot. And so iron head I’m not 100% sold on I do think it would better to have either earthquake or stone edge but I’ve been playing around with the last slot.

And that’s my team I know I have room for improvement but I’ve been bouncing ideas around.
thanks again for dropping by

Hey there, I’m here to give my thoughts on the team as well as some advices to improve it.

You seem to have chosen cool Pokemon that aren’t much seen in OU like Darmanitan :darmanitan:, Flygon :flygon: and Gyarados :gyarados:. That’s a nice idea and even if some of them may struggle a bit in the tier, I think you can make something efficient without changing all these Pokemon. Looking at the team, it seems that you are building something really offensive with strong breakers. I especially like the idea of having Magnezone :magnezone: as a trapper with several Pokemon that can take advantage of the removal of Corviknight :corviknight: or Skarmory :skarmory: to threaten the opposing team. I will try to propose some changes while keeping the spirit of the team. Let’s dive into it!

Major Changes:

:tyranitar: -> :landorus-therian:: You need a lead to setup Rocks and help your breakers. Tyranitar is a good Stealth setter but a specially defensive Tyranitar lacks of offensive pressure and cannot keep its rocks up against a lot of common Defoggers. Here you can try using a Landorus-T :landorus-t: lead instead. Thus, you can try something like a Focus Sash Landorus-T with Rocks, Swords Dance and Explosion. Using Smack Down instead of Explosion and Soft Sand to power up your Earthquake could also work. The set is just below:

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Focus Sash / Soft Sand
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Explosion / Smack Down

:flygon: -> :garchomp:: Flygon is a cool Pokemon, but to be honest, Garchomp :garchomp: is a better Flygon. You can use the classic Life Orb Garchomp with both Scale Shot to boost your Speed and Swords Dance to boost your Attack. This mon is a very threatening sweeper, especially when you’ve managed to remove Corviknight with Magnezone. Stone Edge is better than Fire Fang here as it deals with Mandibuzz and others Flying types, and because Corviknight and Skarmory are removed by Magnezone. Here is the set:

garchomp.gif

Garchomp @ Life Orb
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Scale Shot
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge

Minor Changes:

:magnezone: Your set is fine, even if I would remove the Air Ballon as you already have several Ground immunities and you need to have some Speed investments. You can try to use a Choice Specs Mangnezone with the same move but with a full investment in Speed instead of HP (and a Modest Nature) to outspeed and efficiently trap Corviknight :corviknight: and Skarmory :skarmory:. Another set that you can try is an Iron Defense + Body Press variant that is able to trap both Corviknight and Ferrothorn. The set is just below, don’t hesitate to try both (the Speed on Iron Defense Magnezone is here to outspeed Corviknight and prevent him from U-turning out):

magnezone.gif

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 Def / 116 SpA / 140 Spe
Bold Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute

:tapu lele: Regarding the item, I think that Choice Specs is overall the best item on Tapu Lele. However, here as you lack a lot of Speed and need something to revenge kill fast threats like Dragapult :dragapult:, you may try to use a Choice Scarf variant of Tapu Lele. You already have several breakers to help dealing with defensive walls and Scarf Tapu Lele could be a great addition to improve your matchup against offensive teams as it still does great damage to offensive Pokemon. Regarding the moveset, Moonblast and Focus Blast are great but Extrasensory is basically a worse Psychic so just run Psychic instead. Also, Energy Ball doesn’t hit much things that Psychic doesn’t already threaten so you rather have Psyshock in that slot to abuse Tapu Lele ability to hit special walls with this move. Here is the set:

tapulele.gif

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast

:gyarados: Gyarados can act as a good wincon, being able to easily clean a team weakened by your other breakers thanks to Moxie. I think I would use Earthquake over Power Whip or Ice Fang to hit some Steel types and walls like Toxapex :toxapex:. Power Whip is useful against the Slowtwins :slowbro: :slowking: and Ice Fang helps to beat Dragonite :dragonite:, Garchomp :garchomp: or Grass type. Overall, I think that Ice Fang has the less utility as Tangrowth :tangrowth: and defensive Dragonite are pretty rare unlike Toxapex or the Slowtwins. This would be the set:

gyarados.gif

Gyarados @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Power Whip

:darmanitan: Choice Band Darmanitan is a demon and your set is fine. The only thing I would change here is going for Earthquake instead of Iron Head. You’ve mentioned Earthquake in that slot and I really think you need it to catch Pokemon like Toxapex :toxapex: on the switch as even if Flare Blitz does massive damage, it’s not enough. Iron Head doesn’t seem extremely useful as you can already hit Fairy types with Flare Blitz for the same damage. Here is the set:

darmanitan.gif

Darmanitan @ Choice Band
Ability: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Superpower

That’s all for the suggestions, the team will look like this with all that changes:

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance

Bold Nature
- Iron Defense
- Body Press
- Thunderbolt
- Substitute

Gyarados @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature

Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe

Feel free to test some or all the changes and see if it works better.

Hope this help, have a nice day!
