XY NU Expert Belt Mesprit

Hi. So after watching a couple of replays and looking at this pokemon I have decided on building a team around Expert Belt Mesprit. This is a pokemon that is mostly looked down upon due to the fact that Azelf and Uxie both can do better jobs but due to this is a NU team this pokemon will be in its place. So lets get to the team

seismitoad.gif

Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Earthquake
- Scald
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock

Seismitoad is here for the Stealth Rocks and To be a defensive monster. Earthquake is for stab and for poison types. Scald is there for the chances to burn physical attackers such as pawniard or physical attacking Spiritomb. Knock off is for knocking off (no-pun intended)eviolite leftovers and other annoying items. Stealth Rocks is for limiting switching on threatening pokemon.

mesprit.gif

Mesprit @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 252 SpA / 144 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt

The Star of the team is here, Mesprit is expert belt because I don't like it to be locked into certain attacks and have to force switch. Psychic is for STAB and for poison types once Seismitoad is gone. Dazzling Gleam is for the dark types that think they are safe since Mesprit can't do anything to them. U-turn is to keep momentum with the team. Thunderbolt is there for the water types. The odd ev spread is for it to take attacks and dish out a lot of damage

spiritomb.gif

Spiritomb @ Black Glasses
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Sucker Punch
- Shadow Sneak
- Pursuit

Spiritomb here is a physical attacker, Black Glasses here is to ensure that it will KO certain pokemon with sucker punch or pursuit. Infiltrator is for the pokemon that think they are safe behind Substitute. Will-O-Wisp is for the physical attackers despite its poor accuracy it comes in hand sometimes. Sucker Punch is for attacking first or if Spiritomb has low HP and needs to do as much damage so that the next pokemon can come in and kill it. Shadow Sneak is for if they play mind games like setting up then attacks and repeat. Pursuit is for Golurks and other pokemon thinking they are safe switching when trying to switch out to preserve them.

garbodor.gif

Garbodor @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Spikes
- Pain Split
- Toxic Spikes

Garbordor here is for spikes and stalling. Gunk Shot is here for only attacking and if it gets taunted, also due to its accuracy increase. Spikes is for more residual damage on pokemon switching in. Pain Split is for regaining back HP since this Garbordor has no other way to recover HP. Toxic Spikes is here for the badly poison and incase Gunk shot doesn't poison the pokemon.

cryogonal.gif

Cryogonal @ Never-Melt Ice
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Freeze-Dry
- Recover
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Rapid Spin

Cryogonal is my Rapid Spinner. Freeze-Dry is for other water types and types weak to ice. Recover is for gaining back HP and since Cryogonal has Never-Melt Ice this is all it has to gain back HP. HP Ground is for fire types that were weakened before so Cryogonal can clean up. Rapid Spin is here to Get rid of Stealth Rocks, Spikes and other entry hazards.

audino.gif

Audino @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Knock Off
- Protect

Audino is the Cleric of the team. Wish is for passing on to other pokemon that can't gain health and for some cases stalling out burn or poison. Heal Bell is to get rid of status. Knock off is for knocking off (pun-intended) eviolite and other annoying items. Protect just like Wish is to stall out statues.

Importable:

Seismitoad @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Earthquake
- Scald
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock

Mesprit @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 252 SpA / 144 Spe
Modest Nature
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt

Spiritomb @ Black Glasses
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Sucker Punch
- Shadow Sneak
- Pursuit

Garbodor @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
- Gunk Shot
- Spikes
- Pain Split
- Toxic Spikes

Cryogonal @ Never-Melt Ice
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Freeze-Dry
- Recover
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Rapid Spin

Audino @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Knock Off
- Protect

Constructive Criticism is ok :)

Hi there cool team! The team looks pretty solid, although I do see one or two issues. I feel that the team has difficulty switching into Dark Types, and literally gets straight up 6-0'd by CroTomb. You literally cannot deal significant damage to it, while it sets up on any single one of your pokemon and can sweep you. Similarly, Liepard can deal tons of damage around since you really only have Garbodor to switch into its STAB Knock Off. The team also lacks a setup sweeper and has difficulty finishing late game due to the overall lower power of your attacks. However, that aside this is actually a pretty cool team, and I really like the structure. [P.S. GarboToad is my favorite core]

The easiest thing in my opinion is simply to use Pivot Pangoro over Audino. I don't feel that Audino adds much to the team, as most of your team really doesn't need the wish passes and you aren't incredibly weak to status, but Pangoro does offer a way to reliably beat any dark type in the tier, as well as smash through Spiritomb with a Scrappy Storm Throw. Furthermore, it offers Taunt and Parting Shot support to help gain you momentum and stop stall, and is overall a solid mon. I feel that it can better help you round off your weaknesses, and forms a great bulky offensive core with Mesprit, who really cover each other's checks and counters incredibly well.

Minor Changes:
Mesprit: I honestly am looking at your team and thing it is worth using Calm Mind Mesprit over Expert Belt. Calm Mind Mesprit gives you a decent way to finish up a game near the end, and is an amazing setup sweeper with its amazing balanced stats and great coverage. The set is Calm Mind | Psychic | Dazzling Gleam | Hidden Power [Fire] or Substitute with either Leftovers, Colbur Berry, or Life Orb. It would honestly be so much better for your team as it really can punch through a lot more to help Cryogonal clean as well, and is just more reliable especially in tangent with your team's great hazards support.
Garbodor: I'm not a huge fan of Pain Split on Garbodor, since you can easily get set up on and swept by anything resistant or immune to Gunk Shot. I would advise running Seed Bomb / Drain Punch > Pain Split, as one lets you fair better on Seismitoad or Golem, while the other prevents the setup / spin of Pawniard or Cryogonal. They give Garbodor more flexibility and less lost momentum than Pain Split.

Cool team, hope this helped!
