Overview
The Dragon type has superb type coverage, unresisted by all apart from Steel types. Because of this unparalleled coverage, it is easy to sweep with a powerful Dragon-type when all the opponent's Steel-types have been eliminated. The ability Magnet Pull helps the pokemon Magneton and Magnezone to trap and eliminate Steel-types with their huge Special Attack stats and powerful Stab Moves. I based my team around this tactic: to use the magnets to take out opposing steels, and then to sweep with my Dragon-types.
Note that this order is just the order I built the team in. I don't usually lead with Kingdra; Magneton or Donphan are my usual leads.

A Closer Look
230.png

Poseidon (Kingdra) @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 144 HP / 160 Atk / 40 SDef / 164 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Rest

Say hello to my favourite Dragon, and my #1 late game sweeper. Water-Dragon is an awesome defensive typing and allows Kingdra lots of opportunities to switich in with it's good natural bulk. The tactic is simple: when all the opposing steels are exterminated, spam Dragon Dance until you're nearly dead, rest up to full health then proceed to tear through the opposing team. Early game, Kingdra can also counter Heatran pretty well as she doesn't fear his attacks and can 2KO with Waterfall, even without a Dragon Dance (?). He can counter Rain Teams well too, as with a Swift Swim boost he outspeeds pretty much everything in the game.

635.png

Necronos (Hydreigon) @ Chople Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn
- Fire Blast

This guy is more of a wall-breaker and a scout than a sweeper, but he works well enough. Two handy immunities in Psychic and Ground help him to switch in, and either slam the enemy with a mighty Draco Meteor or U-Turn out to an appropriate counter.
The Chople Berry is to stop Focus Blast Alakazam from taking out my team: Hydreigon can switch in after a death, take the hit and OHKO with either Dark Pulse or U-Turn.

082.png

Tricolore (Magneton) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Volt Switch

Steel Killer #1! Although, I use him more as a revenge killer, being able to take down threats such as Dragonite, Starmie and Gliscor with ease. He can also scout with Volt Switch, forming the Volt-Turn combo with Hydreigon.

462.png

Droidz (Magnezone) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SAtk / 220 Spd
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Charge Beam
- Substitute

Steel Killer #2! This guy is amazingly good, and can set up several Charge Beams on common steels like Ferrothorn and Skarmory lacking whirwind. Hidden Power Fire kills all steels apart from Heatran, Thunderbolt is obligatory STAB, and Substitute is to protect from status and to make setting up a lot easier.

612.png

Jurassic (Haxorus) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 120 HP / 132 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Taunt

Haxorus is another late game sweeper, usually used to punch holes for Kingdra to shred through. After a Dragon Dance he's insanely powerful and can destroy things with STAB Outrage, which will OHKO pretty much anything that isn't a steel type. Earthquake kills the Rotom Forms and Jirachi Easier, while Taunt stops things from inflicting status or setting up on you. Lum Berry is to stop Breloom or Amoonguss from sporing, as well as protecting from Paralysis.

473.png

Buzzard (Mamoswine) @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Superpower
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

Mamoswine has replaced Donphan, simply for the added firepower. STAB Ice Shard coming from Base 130 attack is a force to be reckoned with. Superpower stops Air Balloon Heatran from switching in for free, as well as decimating the pink blobs and other threats. Earthquake is obvious STAB, while Stealth Rock supports the team with residual damage.

Changes Made
-Given Magnezone a Timid Nature over Hardy (whoops!)
-Given Hydreigon a Chople Berry over Life Orb to counter fighting attacks, namely Focus Blast Alakazam.
-Replaced Salamence with Haxorus for extra power, Stealth Rock resistance and taunt.
-Replaced Donphan with Mamoswine for more power, and due to rapid spin being less necessary on the team.

Considered Changes
-Replacing Magnezone with a solid counter to threats to the team, ie ice and fighting resists: maybe a Terrakion counter? Magneton would have HP Fire > Ice if this change went through to reliably decimate Ferrothorn, Scizor and Forretress.

Threatlist

Alakazam is a nasty force to be reckoned with, and has stopped my Kingdra from sweeping in the past. Nothing could outspeed him or set up, and Donphan's priority ice shard couldn't do the trick.
-space for more-

Some comments on this team would be much appreciated. I've used it to moderate success on Pokemon Showdown and aim to improve it further.
Thanks a bunch,

Hi

Looks like a solid MagDrag team but since you want some suggestions:

I don't know why you're using a Hardy nature on Magnezone, but my guess is it's a typo ;) A Timid nature is preferred here.

Usually people use a bit of attack investment on Donphan with a spread of 252 HP / 80 Atk / 176 Def, as it gives him a slightly better offensive presence; like 2HKO'ing Landorus. The difference in bulk is hardly noticeable so it's something to consider.

Now for your weakness to Alakazam. Perhaps somewhat a weird option but you could try Chople Berry over Life Orb on Hydreigon. This way neither Focus Blast nor Hidden Power [Ice] can kill you. As an added bonus it can also fake a Choice Item. Alternatively you can just put a Choice Scarf on him so you can simply outspeed Alakazam and kill it that way, although he then loses his wallbreaking capabilities somewhat.

Hope these suggestions helped and good luck with the team!

Hey,
DragMag is a solid offensive playstyle and I have used it in the past so I can help your team out a fair bit. Although you mentioned Alakazam as your major threat I would also include Opposing Dragons into this list. To me Donphan is the odd one out as your team bar Salamence doesn't really care about hazards, and Donphan's attacks are pretty weak TBH. If you want a guy who can help you out a bunch try out Stealth Rock Mamoswine over Donphan. His Ice Shard actually packs a fair punch and can put Rocks up throughout the match with his decent bulk and also of note is his utility against Hail teams which also look annoying for you to face. I would use Jolly over Adamant to also help beat Adamant Lucario and other random stuff but Adamant is viable as well. Now I know you think that Salamence greatly appreciates spin support but I know a DDancer who is easier to set up and hits insanely hard. I would suggest you try out Dragon Dance Haxorus > Salamence. With the more bulkier approach you still outspeed most relevant threats at +1 anyway and basically everything at +2. Once Haxorus is worn out Kingdra can come in and clean up what is left of the opponents team
GL with the team, sets below
Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Nature: Jolly (+Spe -SpA)
Trait: Thick Fat
EV's: 252Atk/ 4Def/ 252Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake
- Superpower

Haxorus @ Lum Berry
Nature: Adamant (+Atk -SpA)
Trait: Mold Breaker
EV's: 126HP/ 252Atk/ 132Spe
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt (Looks weird, but stops you from getting Phazed or Status and is highly valuable)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
I give full credit for this set for Eggbert in this RMT. Check it out if you want to see the full details on the set etc.

Gengar is also going to be a very big threat, at least I would think.
Terrakion and fighting types are quite scary as you have one not very bulky resist and lots of weaknesses to the type

Specially defensive Jirachi could fix the weakness to gengar/alakazam
I guess just be careful around terrakion, a 3 attacks and stealth rock landorus-t is probably your best bet against it.
The pokemon to replace in your team are probably one of your magnet pull users (you want one of them to revenge kill an magneton is faster so probably magnezone) and maybe donhpan

A more offensive kingdra set could prove worthy for an offensive team like yours. SubDD kingdra may fit your team better

Why not moxie on salamence? It allows it to sweep much more often
Summary:
SpD Jirachi>magnezone
Stealth rock bulky landorus-t>donphan
SubDD kingdra?>?chestorest kingdra
MoxieMence>IntimidateMence

Thanks to everyone who replied :)

@Delko, I can't believe how I played so many games with Magnezone without realising I'd forgot to put a nature on D: Needless to say I'll change that.
Chople Berry on Hydreigon isn't an option I'd have considered, but I'll try it out nonetheless, as it'd allow more freedom than with a Choice Scarf, and I'm fine with Magneton being my only scarfer for the time being.

@Asek, I considered Mamo when team building and I'll think I'll try him out: I'd used him on a Hail team to great effect, so I hope he'd be just as efficient here.
I'll also try out Haxorus, he's another one of my favourite Dragons and is insanely powerful. I wouldn't have expected Taunt on him either, but I see it's use and I'll try it out. Thanks a bunch for the sets, too :)

@Asterat, suprisingly I haven't faced a Terrakion yet with this team, but I imagine he'd be a bother. I'll test out my team as it is for now, but I may consider Landy in the future.
I have faced Gengar in the past however, but I've generally been able to deal with him either with Magneton or Kingdra, however Kingdra had already set up.

Sorry for the double post, but I've updated the OP with my changes and put in potential changes to be made in the future, as well as explaining what I've changed more to avoid losing track. :)

cool team but i never really saw the point in running 2 mags. imo choice scarf magneton is more than enough to kill the necessary steels for this team, with magnezone you are are just adding more weaknesses and a pokemon that does that exact same thing as magneton e__e

i suggest running choice scarf salamence over magnezone. scarf mence is a ridiculous late game cleaner in this metagame, with tornadus/thundurus/politoed/keldeo teams running around everywhere (scarf mence wrecks these teams, as well as being resistant to priority from everyones favorite new toy: mach punch tech loom). moxie scarf mence can come in late game and sweep with dragon claw. it looks like you had some other sort of mence on this team, but speaking from experience choice scarf mence on mag hax teams is definitely the way to go. make sure you run hp fire magneton too cause ferrothorn is a pain in the ass. you have enough dragonite insurance to ditch hp ice imo

dd haxorus is cool and all, but cb haxorus in this meta is a LOT better. it wrecks rain teams and draws out shit like ferrothorn early game (which gets 3hko'd by cb outrage or trapped by magneton) and in conjunction with magneton will easily remove everything for kingdra and salamence (should you decide to use mence) late game. dd haxorus is more of a mid/late game sweeper on a team like this, but with dd kingdra i dont see the necessity for dd haxorus, its kinda redundant and cb is awesome especially with no forry/skarm

so in short
scarf mence > magnezone
cb haxorus
hp fire over hp ice for forry/ferrothorn

and just out of curiousity how has that hydreigon set been working? it seems pretty awesome

Reporting back.

-Kingdra has been my best sweeper by far, if he can set up one or two dances then nine times out of ten he'll sweep the opposing team without any resistance.
-Given Mamo a bulkier EV spread (252hp, 252 atk, 4 def iirc) with the set SE/EQ/IS/Hail, mainly to counter sun or sand teams better after the weather summoner is down
-Replaced Magnezone with Scarfmence. Outrage/Dragonclaw/Earthquake/Hydropump iirc. He's awesome.
-Given Haxorus a choice band, same EV spread, with outrage/dragonclaw/earthquake/superpowah. he works alright, he's certainly pretty damn powerful but he never seems to have the same sweeping power as Kingdra or Salamence.
-Since I've put Chople berry on Hydreigon, I haven't actually run into any Alakazam, or any powerful fighting moves really.
-Another threat I've faced in battle is Slowbro. Hydreigon can easily deal with him, as can Mamoswine with prior damage (I think) but if one of them are down I'm done for.
-I'll update the OP when Showdown's back up (and when I can be bothered)
