Fair OverUsed Team

Team Building Process:

Machamp makes the perfect lead. It tears everything in it's way, giving his team an opening to destroy the opposing team.

Lantrun is perfect to counter rain teams, that can destroy my Machamp.

Lanturn had a great run, but sometimes I wish that Ground-type weakness would disappear. Unfortunately, I had to change it with Rotom-W. It has proven to be a better substitute to Lanturn. Not only that but it has Levitate which covers that Ground-type weakness. Heatran isn't my favorite but I need Fire-type coverage.

My teams always faced threats from entry hazards, so on this team I made sure to have a Rapid Spinner that can also set-up entry hazards so Forretress was a very good choice. Jirachi makes a perfect wall and it really does well with most of my team. Salamence was just to fill in the spot.

In Details:

068.png
Machamp @ Lum Berry | No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 248 Att / 16 SpD / 4 Spd | Adamant
- Dynamic Punch
- Payback
- Bullet Punch
- Ice Punch
Machamp takes out anything that doesn't resist out. Dynamic Punch's power and it's 100% accuracy allows me to OHKO most of the times and rarely allows me to sweep. Payback hits Fighting-type leads like Infernape. Bullet Punch is amazing allows me to finish out my opponent before they could deal more damage. I went with Ice Punch over Stone Edge because it hit's Dragonite and Salamence.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers | Levitate
EVs: 112 HP / 252 SpA / 144 Spd | Modest
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power-Fire
- Pain Split
This thing is awesome! With it's type, bulk, and levitate this thing could take out a lot of threats. Thunderbolt takes out a lot of confident Water-types. Hydro Pump has proven to be perfect, OHKO or 2OHKO anything. Hidden Power-Fire and Pain Split work together perfectly. When the opponent's Grass-type is taken out with HP-Fire, the Pokemon switching in heals my Rotom with Pain Split. HP-Fire is also perfect for taking out bulky Steel-type walls like Jirachi.

485.png
Heatran @ Air Balloon | Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spd | Timid
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power-Grass
- Roar
I really hate this guy...not as a Pokemon but he isn't this great. All he does is kill stuff or fodder. I put Roar on him to get rid of others who try to set-up on my team. He only comes in handy when idiots forget that I have Air Balloon on it and keep going for EQ without popping my balloon. If you have a replacement please TELL ME!
205.png

205.png
Forretress @ Leftovers | Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD | Sassy
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch
All he does is Rapid Spin and if I get a chance set up entry hazards...I set them. Volt Switch allows me to switch out and deal damage at the same time, to allow me to Rapid Spin again if needed.
385.png

385.png
Jirachi @ Leftovers | Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spd | Careful
- Iron Head
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Fire Punch
This thing is awesome it kinda makes me sad that it has a Fire/Ground-type weakness. But it works great! Iron Head and Body Slam is perfect with Serene Grace. After paralyzing the opponent I start flinching them with Iron Head. Fire Punch is for opposing Jirachi-es. Wish is to heal off damage from itself and it's teammates.
373.png

373.png
Salamence @ Life Orb | Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Att / 252 Spd | Adamant
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
I was never good with using Dragon-types. He isn't bad sometimes...some. I think one of the Eon Duo would be better. But his bulk did help me defeat Scizor in a lot of occasions.

Threats:

186.png
450.png
All three are annoying but the most annoying weather has to be Rain. Rotom-W can take them out, but you will soon know why he can't.
302.png
This thing isn't really annoying but it works well with weather teams. It can use Trick to switch a Choice item with the threat to their team. Doing so gives him a lot more freedom and allows him to ruin me.
373.png
149.png
After one Dragon Dance this thing can Outrage or Dragon Claw my whole team.
472.png
Annoying, bulky, and Swords Dance...period.

This team is pretty good takes a lot of other teams out. We do face some problems, but most of the time we do win!

Hello, and welcome to Smogon!

First off I can see some things that need to be changed on your current Salamence. I suggest using an Naive Nature instead of Adamant so you can make Fire Blast stronger, and add some extra speed to outrun Choice Scarf Genesect. I also notice how you can easily solve some of your problems through some moveset changes. I suggest using Hidden Power Ice over Hidden Power Grass on Heatran, while also using Stealth Rock over Roar to weaken these threats to a greater extent through residual damage. I also suggest using Spikes and Gyro Ball over Toxic Spikes with a different spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef | 0 Spe IV to help check Terrakion better.

I notice how you lack an electric resist, so stuff like Thundurus, enemy Rotom-W, and Jolteon can all annoy you to no end. I suggest trying Calm Mind Latias to aid in breaking the VoltTurn core and checking the latter threats. Machamp is not as good this generation, so I suggest replacing it to aid in checking these threats.

Latias @ Leftovers | Levitate
252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Hidden Power Fire

Thank you for the suggestion. For some reason people don't rate my teams so I really appreciate that. ^.^ But what do you think can deal with Gliscor? He is really hard to hit and can sweep my team after Swords Dance, any suggestions? Thanks.

If you want a pokemon to replace Heatran, try Life Orb Infernape. He hits hard and knows Fake Out with can come in handy.

Infernape @ Fire Gem | Blaze
252 Attk / 4 HP / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Fake Out
- Close Combat
- Mach Punch
- Fire Punch

Hey

Cool team Ghetsis, I did see some big threats other than what you mentioned. Opposing Heatran, especially the SunnyBeam variant can wreck your team, especially in sun. It can do hefty damage to your whole team, and you don't have a safe switch in for it in any condition, with your best bet to be trying to speed tie with your Heatran, which is highly unreliable. Infernape looks troublesome as with any of its set it can leave gaping holes in your team, especially the mixed Stall Breaker set that can throw around its powerful special attacks even after Salamence has intimidated it. Finally as you said set up Dragons wreck your team, not only Dragonite and Salamence, but stuff like CM Latios and Latias too as well as Sub Hydreigon.

First off, you lack Stealth Rock, which makes dealing with said levitating set up Dragons a lot harder considering Stealth Rock is basically a necessity on any team to make sure Dragonite's Multiscale gets broken, and levitating pokemon don't walk all over you. Try out Stealth Rock > Roar on Heatran as your current set does not have the bulk to abuse Roar, and will probably only get to use it once or twice in a match. Heatran finds plenty of opportunities to set up Stealth Rock with the fact that it causes a lot of switches with people fearing the powerful attacks Heatran can unleash on them.

On Rotom-W, Hidden Power [FIRE] is not the best coverage move for it. The only reason to run HP [FIRE] over the other viable Hidden Powers is to hit Ferrothorn, which your team has plenty of ways to get around anyway. Use Hidden Power [ICE] > Hidden Power [FIRE] to achieve perfect coverage by hitting the dragons that completly wall your current set, and generally hit more targets than HP [FIRE] does for you. Also, for Jirachi it really needs Protect > Fire Punch to make the most out of Wish possible. This guarantees you Wish recovery, and also lets you scout what moves the opposition is carrying, and lets you make predictions as to what moveset it is carrying. Fire Punch is not that nessecary on a defensive set, and the benefits of Protect + Wish are far superior to those of Fire Punch.

Looking at your forretress set, it looks very off to me. For some reason you are carrying Toxic Spikes and Spikes, yet your team lacks a spin blocker to protect any of the hazards you can lay down. Further more, your team is offensive for the most part and doesn't really benefit from Toxic Spikes that much. I think using a Hidden Power [ICE] Forretress over your current set would benefit your team immensly. It beats the said set up Dragons once they're locked into Outrage, and also stops your Gliscor problems as well. It can still provide the valued rapid spin and spikes support, but it is no longer complete set up bait for the aforementioned problems

With your problems to rain teams as well as you not liking Sandstorm that much, I though that there was a pokemon that could slot right into your team and provide some much needed immunities that your team would love to have. I suggest Specially Defensive Gastrodon > Jirachi to provide you with 2 key immunities that help defeat rain immensly, as well as a Dual STAB option that hits common sandstorm members for super effective damage. Gastrodon offers your team a way to spread Burn and Toxic and can stick around during the match with his access to instant recovery, unlike Jirachi who needs to wait a turn before its recovery happens. Gastrodon can hit very hard after a Storm Drain boost, even with the Specially Defensive sets lack of investment into offenses. Overall Gastrodon could slot right into your team and help it out immensly in countering both rain and sand. It also stops your Infernape weakness and it beats all Heatran which don't carry Grass moves. It still lets you retain the specially defensive presence Jirachi had, but has the mentioned perks over Jirachi which means you should definitely test it

GL with the team
Gastrodon @ Leftovers

Thank you very much! ^.^

Well I was thinking of taking bluejay's suggestion and go with Infernape who also has accesses to SR as well? Also thank you so much. I will try your suggestions out! ^.^
