Introduction

Hello Alliance*Stargazed here, welcome to my first Monotype RMT.

This is a lineup I've utilised since the beginning of the generation 7 monotype meta for various leagues, tour games and ladder runs and thought I would share the final result here.

I have recently started to enjoy ladder and this is my result thus far.

Open to any suggestions advice on how to improve the lineup.

Magearna's ability to be both an offensive threat and a defensive tank makes it easily fit onto almost every Fairy team.

Its Steel / Fairy defensive typing is amazing, being immune to Poison and also taking neutral damage from Steel-type attacks, and supports its already impressive bulk.

tapukoko.gif

Tapu Koko being the fastest Fairy-type makes it one of Fairy's best tools against offence and is able to force switches and pivot effectively. Its great coverage lets it hit many targets.

Its ability Electric Surge boosts the damage of its Electric-type attacks, making Tapu Koko combined with Choice Specs makes it one of the greatest wallbreakers in the meta.

klefki.gif

Klefki's vast support movepool with access to moves such as Spikes, Thunder Wave and dual screens in tandem with its Prankster ability allows it to reliably set up entry hazards and shut down fast Pokemon such as Mega Aerodactyl and Mega Alakazam.

It also has a great defensive typing in Steel / Fairy with only two weaknesses, matching up well against common Pokemon most notably having that all important poison immunity.

togekiss.gif

Togekiss is a very well-rounded Fairy-type that possesses impressive bulk, solid typing, and a good offensive movepool.

Thanks to its impressive bulk and typing combined with the Choice Scarf, it can take on prominent threats in this metagame with its ground immunity, its many resistances and its great offensive movepool.

Thanks to its hard-hitting Grass-type STAB attacks bolstered by Grassy Surge, Tapu Bulu is an incredible wallbreaker capable of heavily damaging even targets that resist its moves.

It sports good coverage options to complement its STAB type while adding support healing for grounded team members.

Its large support movepool including the all important Defog make it a very solid glue on many teams. Tapu Fini is a great blanket check to a large number of threats in the tier including Dragon-, Fire-, Water-, Fighting-, Ice-, Bug- and Dark-types thanks to its typing and bulk while having a while sporting neutral damage to Steel.

Misty Terrain is great and allows Tapu Fini to shield itself and its grounded teammates from status moves and effects letting it support the team for any occasion.
Team Description

Topsy Tumbler (Magearna) @ Steelium Z
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flash Cannon
- Aura Sphere
- Thunderbolt
- Shift Gear

A Timid nature and a Shift Gear boost will allow Magearna to outspeed everything up to Choice Scarf Garchomp and Speed tie Choice Scarf Nihilego.

Flash Cannon in combination with Steelium Z gives you a powerful nuke that will help you activate Soul-Heart for Magearna sweeps.

Aura Sphere hits the Steel-types that give Magearna issues like Ferrothorn and Heatran.

Thunderbolt hits bulky Water-types like Rotom-W, Suicune, Tapu Fini, and Toxapex or other defensive walls like Celesteela and Mandibuzz.

tapukoko.gif

Sueded Swinger (Tapu Koko) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Dazzling Gleam
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Tapu Koko is extremely fast, outspeeding all viable non-Mega Evolutions that aren't running Choice Scarf besides Deo speed.

Electric Terrain provides minor team support by preventing Pokemon like Breloom, Venusaur and Amoonguss from putting its teammates to sleep and crippling opposing Tapu taking away Terrain.

Hidden Power fire lets Tapu Koko deal Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor taking pressure off the rest of the team.

Maximum Special Attack and and 216 Speed let Tapu Koko outspeed Weavile but be slower than opposing Tapu Koko giving switch momentum in the mirror matchup while adding minor bulk while hitting as hard as possible thanks to Choice Specs.

klefki.gif

Natalus (Klefki) (M) @ Light Clay
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Reflect
- Light Screen
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave

Klefki has access to a large number of support options, in particular Spikes, Thunder Wave, Reflect, Light Screen, and more.

Prankster allows it to function as a very effective support Pokemon.

Prankster Thunder Wave means that Klefki can act as a check to the majority of setup sweepers.

A Light Clay set with dual screens ensures that its teammates have much more survivability.
Steel / Fairy typing gives Klefki two key immunities and nine resistances, which grants it more opportunities to switch in and set up Spikes or screens.

248 Hp EV's ensure that Klefki takes minimal hazard damage while 16 speed Ev's ensure that it outspeeds up to 12 EV Speed Mega Scizor.

Francheska Flinch (Togekiss) (F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Aura Sphere
- Fire Blast
- Air Slash
- Trick

Togekiss is useful on Fairy teams due to its ability to check Steel-type Pokemon with its Fire-type coverage, and is also a good Choice Scarf user due to Serene Grace Air Slash.

Togekiss has access to a good ability in Serene Grace, allowing it to cause foes to flinch with Air Slash more often than not and net possible burns with Fire-type coverage.

A high Special Attack stat gives Togekiss a lot of offensive power, allowing it to KO or deal massive damage to threats that can be troubling for Fairy teams to deal with.

252 Speed EVs and a Timid nature maximize Togekiss's Speed, taking full advantage of its Choice Scarf and allowing it to outspeed a majority of the meta.

252 Special Attack EVs give Togekiss as much offensive power as possible.

Serene Grace is Togekiss's best ability, as it doubles the chance for both an Air Slash flinch and a Fire Blast burn.

Trick lets it cripple pokemon such as Chansey and Porygon2 limiting the support they can provide.

tapubulu.gif

Nashin (Tapu Bulu) @ Choice Band
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wood Hammer
- Superpower
- Zen Headbutt
- Horn Leech

Maximum Attack investment with an Adamant nature maximizes Tapu Bulu's damage output.

252 Speed EVs make Tapu Bulu as fast as possible, outpacing neutral-natured Seismitoad, which would otherwise outspeed and KO it with Sludge Wave.

Choice Band makes Tapu Bulu a bigger threat by granting it more wallbreaking power.

Grassy Surge sets up Grassy Terrain upon switching in, boosting Tapu Bulu's Grass-type moves, decreasing the power of Earthquake, and recovering health each turn.

I chose fairly self explanatory moves for Tapu Bulu given the matchups they assist in.

Zen Headbutt was chosen over Stone Edge to let Tapu Bulu hit Poison-types such as Mega Venusaur.

tapufini.gif

Sueded Swag (Tapu Fini) @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Defog

Because I already had Togekiss, Tapu Fini made for the next best pokemon to handle hazard removal thanks to its great bulk.

248 HP / 252 Def with a Bold nature handles many of the prominent physical natured Pokemon such as Garchomp and Mega Charizard X a lot more easily whilst allowing it do always do its job.

Defog lets Tapu Fini provide support by clearing entry hazards for its teammates.

Surf was chosen over Scald because hits many Pokemon neutrally and the additional power was nice in specific matchups.

Hp Fire lets it get the jump on Ferrothorn on the switch dealing fair damage.

Hey Alliance*Stargazed, decent looking team you have here. I just have a few tweaks to make. Here it goes. :p

184.png
>
788.png

If you are going to use Spikes on Klefki there is no reason to run defog on Fini or Tapu Fini at all. If you want to run Tapu Fini I would suggest running a stallbreaker set with Taunt and Nature's Madness to help deal with some annoying cores for you such as Toxapex, Mega Venusaur and Alolan Muk or the infamous eviolite twins Chansey and porygon2 on normal. However since you team does use screens on Klefki I would tbh Azumarill fits much better on the team as the possibly another screens abuser and setup sweeper.
Azumarill @ Normalium Z
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Aqua Jet
- Play Rough
- Knock Off
This azumarill set is made to outspeed pokemon such as Mantine and Skarmory with no speed investment while maximizing its bulk and attack. Alternatively you can run 252 speed and just 4 hp on Azumarill which would bring you to a speed stat of 199 however since most pokemon that are slower in that area such as Mega Venusaur and Mandibuzz usually speed creep max speed azu I would keep it at 164.

707.png

I would change Klefki's EVs around differently. 252 HP / 252+ Def / 4 SpD allows Klefki to maximize its bulk against sweepers such as Mega-Scizor or alternatively you could run 252 HP / 196+ Def / 60 Spe which would creep Mega-Scizor, Mandibuzz and Mega-Venusaur that like to outspeed max speed azumarill. This may seem confusing to run extra speed on Klefki if your not running max speed azumarill, however since Klefki can set screens with prankster you can outspeed and set screens even against +6 scizor.

468.png

Togekiss while it seems like a promising scarfer really lacks out on beating other common scarfers such as Victini and Kyurem-Black and since steel spam is really high atm in the metagame I would suggest changing around your spread so you can better take on Steel sweepers such as Mega Scizor.
Togekiss @ Babiri Berry
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 48 Def / 36 SpA / 176 Spe
Timid Nature
- Air Slash
- Fire Blast
- Aura Sphere
- Roost

801.png

Since Azumarill should be running Normalium Z to help it setup and sweep easier I decided to make magearna an assault vest pivot pokemon. This allows the team to not only take on other Fairy teams better but can help fairy take some special attacks that it doesnt appreciate. The HP and Defense allow Magearna to live a scarf excadrills earthquake, maximize its damage output and while being able to speed creep pokemon such as Skarmory and Mantine and work as a great slow pivot into wallbreakers on the team helping you gain momentum.
Magearna @ Assault Vest
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 200 HP / 12 Def / 252 SpA / 44 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fleur Cannon
- Volt Switch
- Aura Sphere
- Flash Cannon

The team may struggle against types such as Flying and Fire because there are no rocks but if you really wanted to keep Togekiss and Tapu Fini there is no way to squeeze it onto the team. Anyway, I hope you my rate helped. I'll drop an importable of the new team below. :D

Hey there The Excadrill I really appreciate this and I will make these changes accordingly also i appreciate you being the first one to comment on my first ever rmt this was really exciting for me and I hope some people can find some satisfaction in using it as well. So again thank you and ill test these changes out and I may post some replays especially if i grab a flying matchup as you said. Yes the team I have above needs to play very carefully around Char Y ... extremely careful and the flying replay i have up there isnt too optimal but i appreciate these changes you have made for me and im sure it will help me further advance the team.
