THE MOMS
latest

The moms, a rag tag bunch of Fairy Types who just wanna have fun! But seriously though, they will make minced meat out of even the strongest Steel and Poison types, if used correctly! With a combination of 200+ base power moves, stalling, hazard removal, and just plain ass-whooping, The Moms are quite formidable foes!

Cotton Mom (Whimsicott) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 200 HP / 56 SpA / 154 SpD / 98 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
- Encore
- Moonblast

Cotton Mom is your classic Whimsicott, and quite a pain in the behind. It can take care of fast Destiny Bond users, such as Froslass and Gengar, with Encore and Leech Seed. It is also a particularly useful stat boost wiper, as some people don't like that pesky Leech Seed, and feel particularly obliged to switch out. Her higher speed also allows her to quickly take care of fast, powerful, yet frail Pokemon such as Breloom and Mega Manectric.

Flower Mom (Florges)(F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flower Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD (PREFERRED FOR CLERIC: Modest, 200 HP, 52 SpA)
Bold Nature
- Aromatherapy/Toxic
- Wish
- Moonblast
- Protect

Say hello to the queen of stalling, Florges! Flower Mom is your can-do machine of using her lovely scents to heal her teammates. The set in-of-itself is rather self-explanatory. Flower Mom Wishes, and then, depending on her situation, goes on the offense with Moonblast, or on the defense with Protect, only to be healed after the turn regardless. Florges is particularly good at warding away Iron Head Zekrom-B, a major annoyance for most of the other moms. Flower Veil in particular is what gives Cotton Mom that extra leg-up in preventing bad status conditions or the lowering of it's stats, which keeps Cotton Mom useful against common Toxic, Thunder Wave, and Will-O-Wispers, such as Crobat, Chandelure, and Rotom-Heat. When running super-stall, Flower Mom's every move needs to be planned out in detail, as the slightest slip-up can screw her over.

Wings Mom (Togekiss)(F) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 180 HP / 252 SpA / 76 Spe
Modest/Timid Nature
- Air Slash/Extrasensory
- Flamethrower
- Defog
- Baton Pass

Wings Mom is a mom with choices. If you were to run Timid, when paired with Extrasensory and Flamethrower, Wings Mom becomes an absolutely splendid revenge killer on Poison and Steel types, as well as several other types and Pokemon, most notably Mega Venusaur and Ferrothorn. Baton Pass allows Wings Mom to pivot out of a bad switch in, or a predicted switch-out on the foes side. Air Slash would mostly be used alongside the Modest Nature, to do some good STAB damage, and annoy people trying to use recovery moves, but are repeatedly stopped by a flinch. Defog is obviously used to clear away any hazards so the other moms don't get dirty. (;

Moon Mom (Clefable)(F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 180 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA / 72 SpD
Bold Nature
- Cosmic Power
- Soft-Boiled
- Stored Power
- Seismic Toss

What's better than a Pokemon with a base 260 attack and extremely buffed out defenses? Nothing! Moon Mom is probably one of the most annoying parts of this team on the part of the opponent. Our favorite Mom from the moon can effortlessly go between Cosmic Power and Soft-Boiled, slowly starting to take less and less damage until her defenses are at that golden x4 multiplier, where she can move onto the offense. While stored power is a great counter to poison types, some Dark types, such as Drapion, might pop up, which is where Seismic Toss comes in to lend that extra hand to assist Clefable in her reign of terror.

Dress Mom (Gardevoir)(F) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 16 HP / 8 Def / 232 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Hyper Voice
- Focus Blast
- Psyshock

Look at Dress Mom, strutting down the isle in her brand new wedding dress as she absolutely demolishes all of her squad's weaknesses without a second thought. Gardevoir is particularly strong when using Calm Mind when Mega Evolving to give the extra boost to allow it to over-achieve. Gardevoir is the primary sweeper of the team who is mostly used in no specific manner, however it's particular uses are to counter Mega Venusaur, Mandibuzz, Weavile, and Scolipede.

azumarill.gif
choiceband.png

Blue Mom (Azumarill)(F) @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Aqua Jet
- Knock Off

Blue Mom, who needs hardly any information, is seen on mostly EVERY Fairy monotype team, and is always used in mostly the same way. This blue banded baby is typically good as a first pokemon, as the choice band and variety of move type can clear away a good half of your foes team.

THREATS
452.gif
Drapion
Drapion resists/is immune to most of the mom's moves, however there is some chance of clearing it away with Wings Mom and Air Slash spam, as well as Aqua Jet Blue mom, and Focus Blast Dress Mom. Drapion puts Moon Mom especially in a tight corner, and forces it to switch and clear its stat boosts more often than not.
094.gif
Gengar
Gengar is an absolute DESTROYER of fairies. It especially pins down Gardevoir, with access to heavy hitting moves such as Sludge Wave and Shadow Ball. The team's only saving grace against this threat would be the fast Wings Mom using Extrasensory.

Hey there, cool team. Your team seems mostly fine Pokemon-wise but some of the sets could change a bit. Here's a quick rate:

  • 547.png
The Whimsicott set could be improved, as the main reason to use Whimsicott on Fairy teams is to either paralyze faster Pokemon that are generally a nuisance to Fairy teams due to the real lack of speed control or to abuse its secondary typing with its STAB. You don't really do either of these things with this set, and the SubSeed set in general isn't very good or consistent. Stun Spore > Substitute and U-turn > Leech Seed seems like the best option here as you can cripple annoying threats like Gengar and Drapion like you mentioned, alongside things like Excadrill and Landorus with Stun Spore, and you can gain good momentum with U-turn in combination with Encore. Your EVs also seem weird, so I fixed this in the sets hide tag.
  • 036.png
Since you don't have Diancie or Klefki, you have no hazards at all which is a problem. Stealth Rock > Seismic Toss fixes this issue and Clefable and keep its role. Cosmic Power Clefable is not consistent at all because it takes forever to set up and it is very weak in the beginning. Calm Mind > Cosmic Power is much more consistent and will be more useful in more situations. Your EV spread on this also isn't optimal so I put an EV spread that hits a bunch of benchmarks like being able to switch into Life Orb Kyurem-B in sets.
  • 468.png
Your Togekiss set doesn't make much sense to me, one of the main reasons to use Scarf Togekiss on Fairy teams is to revenge kill Pokemon due to the lack of speed on Fairy teams and your EV spread makes Togekiss really, really slow, getting outsped by positive natured base 100s and 110s and a bunch of other Scarf users. I recommend max SpA max Spe to fix this. I would also use Trick > Baton Pass as I don't think you would use Baton Pass too much whereas Trick is really helpful vs annoying Normal teams and Flying teams to cripple things like Chansey, Porygon-2 and Zapdos.

The set you chose for Florges is completely and utterly outclassed by Sylveon. The only niche Florges has over Sylveon is being a slightly better bulky Calm Mind user due to access to a one turn recovery move in Synthesis. Sylveon has near identical special bulk, much better physical bulk, a stronger uninvested STAB, and bigger wishes and thus directly outclasses Florges. Because of this, Sylveon > Florges is a better choice on this team by doing the same role better.
  • 282-mega.png
This is a nitpick, but those EVs on Gardevoir are the OU EVs to survive two Life Orb Latios Psyshock. You have a monotype Fairy team, and Sylveon, Clefable and even Florges not only completely wall Latios, but the rest of your team does pretty well vs Latios and on top of this Life Orb Latios isn't even that prevalent in Monotype, so the EV spread is just a waste. I would go with Max Spe Max Spa. Because your team is really slow and being able to outspeed things like Diggersby and Breloom before mega evolving along with being able to outspeed other things like Pinsir before Mega Evolving and being able to speed tie with other base 100s is kind of really important for this team, I would change Modest to Timid.

That's all I have, hope I helped!
