Fake Out? Pfft

So, here's my UU team that I've mainly been using for Shoddy. While it's not the perfect team (then again, is there?), it does pretty well against most people.

Anyway, to the Pokemon.

Sneasel
Item: Focus Sash
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Inner Focus
Evs: 252 Attack & Speed, 4 Special Defense

-Fake Out
-Counter
-Taunt
-Pursuit

Out of all the leads I've used so far (which is only a few, though), Sneasel is my favorite. Fake Out is pretty simple. I love Counter, because most people don't expect to see it, so they simply attack away, only to be koed the next turn; I've taken out a handful of sweepers with Sneasel before. It also gets a OHKO on Ambipom when it uses Fake Out thanks to Inner Focus.
Taunt and Pursuit has also really worked for me. Taunt is simple, to stop them from setting up rocks or setting themselves up. Sometimes they'll switch, so I use Pursuit, but if they don't, then Counter (Assuming they haven't taken away any of my HP yet).

Claydol
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 252 HP, 144 Defense, 112 Special Attack

-Rapid Spin
-Stealth Rock
-Earth Power
-Psychic

Claydol has been... alright for me. Getting the rocks up is always nice and spinning other's away is nice, too. Other than that, I find it a little useless, despite the fact that is has given me few game-winning KOs against other people. I'm not sure if I should keep him or just search for a new Poke.

Ursaring
Item: Toxic Orb
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Quick Feet
Evs: 252 Attack & Speed, 4 Special Defense

-Swords Dance
-Facade
-Crunch
-Close Combat

My sweeper and has literally swept... almost entire teams :P. But really, if I can manage to find a good opportunity to use Swords Dance, it obliterates Pokemon. Although, I find it difficult sometimes to find a good opportunity, any suggestions on that? And with Crunch, I can also OHKO (most) Ghost types who think that they can simply switch and avoid the Facade. Ursaring is my favorite sweeper by far.

Houndoom
Item: Choice Scarf
Nature: Modest (I think, I forget which one)
Ability: Flash Fire
Evs: 4 Attack, 252 Special Attack & Speed

-Overheat
-Dark Pulse
-HP Flying
-Flamethrower

Houndoom has recently been doing well for me when I switched Pursuit for Flamethrower (or vice versa?). Anyway, I like Choice Scarf because I'd rather have a faster Poke than have a stronger, but slower Poke. Anyway, nothing really special with Houndoom. One time, Flash Fire activated and I managed to get 2 or 3 kills with just Flamethrower :P

321.png

Wailord
Item: Choice Scarf
Nature: Naive
Ability: Water Veil
Evs: 28 Attack, 252 Special Attack, 228 Speed

-Water Spout
-Surf
-Selfdestruct
-Hidden Power Grass

To be honest, I tried out Wailord only because my friends kept talking about the Wailord and Skitty breeding thing. But once I actually used it, it turned out to be a pretty good decision. Water Spout and Choice Scarf, I've managed to get a few KOs on a person's team which is nice. HP Grass has been disappointing though; I'm thinking of maybe switching it with Ice Beam. Also, is using two of the same items on a team, illegal? (Except for Leftovers). I read something somewhere about two of the same items are illegal on a team. If so, then whoops..

Meganium
Item: Leftovers
Nature: Bold
Ability: Overgrow
Evs: 216 HP, 148 Defense, 144 Special Attack

-Energy Ball
-Aromatherapy
-Reflect
-Leech Seed

Meh, Meganium has been alright for me. Aromatherapy is always nice since I don't like status on my Pokemon (Except for Ursaring) and Leech Seed is good too. Although, I'll probably switch Reflect with Light Screen since it hasn't helped me yet.

Anyway, that's my team. Rate pleaseee.

Don't have time for a full rate, but you don't want Aromatherapy on a team with Quick Feet abuse, especially since nothing cares about being burned. I'd suggest switching it with a sweeper. If you like the synergy of a Grass type, go with Rock Polish Torterra.

So,

One thing that stuck out to me was that your team is everywhere. I dont' particularly see a main focus on it anywhere and so in the interest of a better rate I will be focusing on what you yourself said was the best sweeper of your team, Ursaring. Not saying I will completely base it all around him, but I will be keeping him for sure and allowing him a better chance at a sweep. Other than him I am purposely leaving Sneasel untouched as you have expressed how much you like to use him.

The first problem area that stuck out to me was quite the blaring weakness to Swellow and Scyther. They both have a good chance at running through your team if the chance so arrives. You don't have any reliable switch in's and the best you can do is to revenge both, however they can easily just U-Turn away and come back again to wreak more havok. Wailord cannot even outspeed Swellow and Scyther can OHKO on the switch if it uses either of it's STAB's. Brick Break -> Quick Attack hits straight off for a solid 2HKO. To remedy this I suggest you switch off Claydol for TrickScarf Rotom. The set in the analysis works fine but I'll put it here to save you the trouble.

479.gif
@ Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid
252 SpA, 4 SpD, 252 Spe
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- HP Grass
- Trick

This allows you to switch in on any expected STAB of either, survive barring a critical hit, and follow up for a swift OHKO with Thunderbolt. It's even better if Swellow chooses to open with a Facade as you just got in a free switch. However even this comes with problems. If either decides to open with U-Turn, you've just given away your check. Not only this but the lack of Leftovers recovery is a dead giveaway to the fact you're carrying a Scarf. However most players carrying Swellow will be hesitant to switch out without using U-Turn, and will switch off to a Wall, allowing you to get some Trick action going and cripple a wall or two. Also please note that this is probably your best Milotic hitter as the others bar Ursaring after a SD don't really do much iirc. It's all about utilizing prediction to get off your kill. HP Grass is recommended over HP Fight and other options solely for a reason I will explain shortly.

The reason for running HP Grass resides in your other big weakness, and that is to Rock Polish Rhyperior. If given a chance to set up it can run through your team with ease. HP Grass on Rotom helps as it provides a way to get a good clean KO on it with a little prior damage. Switching in on Earthquake or Megahorn allows you to do so, however Stone Edge will hit for a OHKO so be careful about how and when you switch in. Wailord, your Pokemon you'd think would be helpful, cannot switch in on any attack, and even if you try to revenge with it, is outsped with ease. To help this problem, I recommend two things. One, running HP Grass on Houndoom over HP Fly as Flamethrower hits for more damage than HP Fly on all common fighting types, and also serves as a last minute revenger if need be. Secondly, switching Wailord for a CB Azumarill. The set is as following:

184.gif
@ Choice Band
Nature: Adamant
240 HP, 252 Atk, 16 Spe
- Waterfall
- Aqua Jet
- Return
- Superpower

This will help you by providing a slightly bulkier Pokemon to help take Water attacks and etc aimed at your other Pokemon, and also allow you to have a possible check against Rhyperior. This Azumarill can switch in on any attacks, survive, again barring a critical hit, and retaliate with a quick Aqua Jet possibly getting a straight off KO with a little prior damage. There is a slim slim chance at getting a KO as after LO recoil, Rhyperior will have 90% HP left, and the max damage from Aqua Jet is 90.6% on standard RP Rhyperior. This will also help you remove any trouble some Fire types and generally overpower any weaker threats. Superpower was chosen solely to hit Aggron, but if Altaria is seen as a bigger issue you can switch it for Ice Punch.

Rapid Spin, in my opinion, is a crucial and vital part for this team to succeed. It helps ease switching which I see this team taking a big part in, especially Houndoom who loses 25% every time it switches in, and the HP lost slowly chips away at your Pokemon's ability to switch in to soak up hits by aforementioned threats. Over your Meganium which I don't see doing much, I suggest running a lesser known spinner who can help you help you attract good switch in's for Houndoom and also keep your offensive momentum is the lesser used Hitmonlee. The set is as follows:

106.gif
@ Black Belt
Nature: Jolly
252 Atk, 4 Def, 252 Spe
- Rapid Spin
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- Blaze Kick

This Hitmonlee adds an element of surprise and a strong kick to your team. He will help you get rid of pesky steels such as Registeel and Steelix while also giving you a powerful Rapid Spinner. The first two attacks are obvious, RS and strong STAB, while the last two are for two reasons specifically. Stone Edge allows you to hit levitating Fighting Resistors on the switch i.e, Weezing who will most likely try to WoW you, giving you a Flash Fire boost on Houndoom. It also allows you to reliably hit Altaria. Blaze Kick is specifically for Venusaur. A Black Belt allows you to boost Close Combats power while also feigning a Scarf. A Life Orb can be used to get a chance at OHKO'ing Venusaur but the life lost if up to you if its worth it.

And that concludes my extremely long rate. I hope that this all helps you in your time using this team and that my advice actually proves useful to you. It won't offend at all if you don't use some of my advice or disregard it if it doesn't fit into what you want your team to do etc, etc. But asides from what I said before, trying a lead that can help you get up Spikes / Stealth Rock such as Omastar, Qwilfish, Mesprit can be tried if you want to help your sweep making it all the much easier. Of those I suggest Qwilfish the most but it is up to you entirely.
