FALLOUT 76 TO BE RELEASED ON NOVEMBER 14, 2018!

So I was looking through the forum and didn't see a single thread about this magnificent series. So here it is. If you're here, I'm assuming you already know what it's about. But just in case you don't know:

Ever wondered what would have happened if the Cold War got hot, and everybody dropped atomic bombs on each other? That's Fallout. The first game takes place a little over 80 years after the world was devastated by nuclear warfare and portrays a dystopian wasteland built on the ruins of the United States. Fallout 2 took place just a couple of decades later, but when Bethesda took the franchise over, the timeline jumped forward: Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 take place around 200 years after the bombs dropped.
In most games, the player is the descendant of people who survived the war by retreating to long-term bomb shelters called Vaults -- and they're leaving the comfort of their underground city for the first time to explore a destroyed and desolate world.
It sounds grim, but it's surprisingly packed with humor and great music, while its engrossing open worlds are buoyed by solid RPG mechanics.[/SPOILER]

And here's everything we know about Fallout 76:
Fallout 76 is a shared-world survival game that's 'entirely online'

Fallout 76 is the largest Fallout game ever made. It will be four times larger than Fallout 4, the last largest game in the series. It's also taking place in West Virginia. Developers recently confirmed a fast-travel feature.

New V.A.T.S. combat - "It doesn't slow time. But it lets you target and pick parts and all of that, but it's in real-time. It still works great. It's different, obviously." - Todd Howard

Bethesda describes it as a "softcore" survival game. Death doesn't mean loss of progression or of death of your character.

. Other players can help you explore the wasteland, or hunt you down and attack you to fight for land. You'll need land because you'll be able to build your own base and move it anywhere.

DLC will be free, but the game has microtransactions.

You can nuke other players.

Replacing the S.P.E.C.I.A.L., "perk cards" are earned and equipped to gain gameplay advantages, kinda like the ones in Friday the 13th, I'm guessing.

I've currently been replaying New Vegas, and honestly it's making me remember why it's my favorite. I've played mostly every Fallout game (minus Tactics and BoS) and dude, New Vegas. It puts 4 to shame definitely. Idk if I'm the only one who wasn't the biggest fan of 4, but... Anyway, yeah. General Fallout Discussion, tell us about your favorite factions, mods, reasons Fallout Online was the best MMO you've ever played, and so on.

Fallout huh? Oh boy, I have way too many hours in this. Started with Fallout 3 in 2008 on the 360 and later moved to PC for mods. Probably have around 2k+ hours in that. Awfully unstable game that I usually find unplayable now both gameplay wise and just from all the crashes I get. Haven't played New Vegas as much even tho I enjoyed the gameplay and story more in that overall, but favorite location is still Point Lookout. I own the older trio of games (1, 2, Tactics) but have never really played them, feel like I've had the games too spoiled overall from reading up on everything on the wiki and watching LPs of them. The Fallout Timeline on the wiki is a really nice and interesting read, especially when you're as invested in that universe as I am.

I know everyone hates on Fallout 4 for how the dumbed it all down RPG and story wise, but I really find myself not care as much because I find the gameplay to be much more fluent and fun than what New Vegas could ever hope to be. Survival difficulty is both addictive and frustrating at the same time. Even tho I wasn't too much of a fan of the FWE mods and Nevada for FO3 and F:NV respectively that basically did the same thing, I prefer it in FO4 when I feel like I have more control outside of VATS, which I've basically almost stopped using now. I still play FO4 kinda frequently at times, on Far Island right now and trying to clear stuff out, around level 45 or so, barely done any story quests.

Fallout 76 looks real nice, glad that it's similar to 4 gameplay wise. Not sure if I'll ever have the time to find a squad to play with but I'm happy overall with how it's looking so far.
