Resource Farewell

You are one of the few players who truly inspired me to transition from an Ubers noob to an OU player. Your contributions to the community have been invaluable. Even now, whenever I need inspiration, I go back to your tournament replays to get that adrenaline rush.

I personally believe that a Competitive Pokemon lover like you never truly says farewell to Pokemon. Wishing you nothing but the best. Happy New Year, and thank you for everything you’ve given us in the past, present and hopefully, what you will continue to represent in the future.

It feels very weird to say what I'm about to say, but though you're someone I've never talked to, fought against or played alongside, your play and creativity is what helped me fall in love with this simultaneously incredibly beautiful and frustrating game we know as competitive Pokemon. I became aware of this game around ORAS and while I never played at that point, more spectated and learned from afar, what an introduction to the game watching your matches was. You are on a very short list of names that kept me coming back to learn more about competitive Pokemon, and I wouldn't be the same person I am today without having had this hobby.

There is no clear criteria for what defines a competitive Pokemon great. However, something I have always admired is the type of player that manages to constantly reinvent themselves and be able to express themselves through a variety of different playstyles and teams, and you were often one of the names leading the curve in terms of metagame development. SM OU will be sad to lose you, and yet at the same time it's what it is today because of people like you that went so hard to push it to the highest level of development possible. This team dump alone is such a wealth of knowledge about the format, but even more importantly shows the level of depth and respect you gave to this game. I simply don't have any words to explain how much I respect that.

Again, weird to say this to a relative stranger, especially because this is just a hobby that we do for fun in our spare time. But thank you for the entertainment, passion for this game, and knowledge you've unknowingly shared with not just me, but many others who have watched you play.

It's very clear that I'm not alone on my opinion as so many other people here of all levels of skill from multiple different generations of play have come here to show you their appreciation for what you've brought to the game. So wherever you end up going from here, I wish you well.

As someone who was lucky enough to see your prime during the gen 6 and gen 7 current gen days, and as someone who has admired your teambuilding methodology... essentially inspiring my own, being tagged by you in this is one of the greatest honors. Thanks for everything you have done for the site.

I am glad to contribute on making this place a little better. Best of luck in life wherever it may lead you. Cheers!
