XY UU Fast & Furius (HO ft. Shuckle)

Hi, guys, this is my second UU RMT, and now I want to show you my HO team, built around Shuckle as the hazard setter lead, providing stealth rock and sticky web support for the rest of the team to sweep. The team's name is because two reasons. The first is because I built it in just a few minutes, about 5 more or less, and the second is because is a Hyper Offense team, with a lot of fast and powerful mons. Well, let's start with the teambuilding process:

Shuckle_icon.png

Shuckle was the first member, acting as Deo-D used to act in OU some months ago. It lacks recovery, but mental herb + sturdy guarantees me at least SR or SW in the foe's battlefield.

Starmie_icon.png

After having the hazard support, I decided that I need a spiner to not be weak to the foe's SR and SW. Starmie gives me a lot of offensive presence as well as hazard removing support.

At this point I decided to add a mega, and Absol was the first option that came to my head. My set is a powerful sword dancer that can set up againts most stall mons and procceed to kill almost everything.

Shaymin_tierra_icon.png

Having a powerful physical atacker, I needed a special one. Shaymin doesn't need to set up to be dedly. Seed Flare's high probability of lowering SpD is brutal, and has also a great movepool and a reliable way to recover HP and status.

Having a great offensive core I noticed that priority is always a must in every team, and Absol's sucker punch isn't enough, so extreme speed Arcanine came to provide a powerful priority move, better than any other except against ghosts, that are covered by Absol.

Flygon_icon.png

To finish the team, I decided to give it more speed to be safe against SW offense teams even if Starmie is dead and Shuckle wasn't able to set up my own SW. Scarf Flygon provides me the speed, momentum with U-turn and also a needed ground and electric immunity, which is so good.

In Depth:

Hachigen Ushōda (Shuckle) @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 248 HP / 228 Def / 32 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Encore
- Toxic

Shuckle is usually the most important member of the team since provides the bulk and support against most playstyles. Sticky web is usually prefered against offense and stealth rock against stall. It can also annoy the opposite lead with encore and cripple walls with toxic. The EVspread and nature is to have the same number of defense and SpD (only 1 point more for SpD to give download P2 and P-Z an atack boost), because I don't want him to be a physical wall or a special one. Sturdy + mental herb, as I said in the teambuilding process, guarantees me at least one hazard in the battlefield (only when Espeon is not active, in this case I switch into Absol or Flygon), but contrary is another option that I can consider to gain a SpD boost from Shaymin's seed flare, but it is probably too situational.

starmie.png

Stark (Starmie) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam
- Psyshock

Starmie is my offensive spinner. With a nice base 115 speed and a base 100 SpA, it can sweep too, mantaining the offensive pressure I want for this team. Hydro pump and Psyshock are standard STABs, with psyshock over psychic to hit harder Blissey and Florges. Ice beam gives me nice coverage for Chesnaught, Flygon, Hydreigon, Noivern, Trevenant and other things that otherwise would be able to switch in relatively safely. Natural cure is used over analytic because, although two life orb boosts when the foe switchs are great, with natural cure Starmie don't fear beeing poisoned, burned, or worse, paralyzed.

absol-mega.gif

Yumichika Ayasegawa (Absol) @ Absolite
Ability: Justified
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch
- Superpower

Absol is my favourite UU mega, and not for nothing. Is a great asset against stall, gaining free turns to set up in a plethora of situations, and then spaming knock offs and sucker punchs to kill almost anything until it's death or victory. Superpower is a nice move to face things like Snorlax, Umbreon, Aggron(Mega), etc., and I'm not sure if I should replace it by play rough when ORAS tutors are released.
shaymin-land.png

Lilinette (Shaymin) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power Dazzling Gleam (suggested by Cranham)
- Psychic
- Rest / Synthesis

Shaymin is an awesome mon in UU. With a nice speed and bulk, she can hit really hard with seed flare, threatenind even special walls because of the considerable probability of lowering their special defense. Also, she is my second mon with natural cure, acting as a status absorber with Starmie, and the only one with has enough bulk to be useful with a recovery move, but I never be sure whether to use synthesis for not losing turns changing or rest to recover more HP and the status inmediately.

Arcanine_by_BaconBoy914.jpg
059.png

Genryūsai (Arcanine) @ Life Orb / Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Wild Charge
- Close Combat
- Flare Blitz
- ExtremeSpeed

Arcanine is the main revenge killer with it's powerul extreme speeds. I usually use it with life orb to be safer against predictions (in special Blastoise, wich doesn't fear a flare blitz, but yes a wild charge). Arcanine also helps me to check physical things, making a safer situation for Absol to set up, but it's main use is to revenge kill with maximum priority.
330.png

Kaname Tōsen (Flygon) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- U-turn

Scarf Flygon closes the team as the fastest member (not counting priority), probably too standard, but it makes it's job nice, revenge killing fast or boosted things and helping in danger situations. I use both outrage an dragon claw to have a reliable STAB in mid-game and a move to clean in the late-game, but most of the time this dragonfly will be using U-turn as a pivot.

620.png

Kisuke Urahara (Mienshao) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- High Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Stone Edge

Recommended by CallMeBrendannn. Mienshao acts better as a scarfer, gaining momentum with U-turn too and with a higher atack stat, hitting really hard with reckless high jump kick and helping with item removal with knock off.

Mega-Aerodactyl_icon.png
: This beast outspeeds all my team bar Flygon Mienshao, and I can't lower it's enormous speed with sticky web. Shaymin survives an aerial ace at full HP and can kill back with seed flare if it received some prior damage. Absol can make over 50-60% damage with sucker punch and Starmie can only pray for not take a crunch, but for sure I have to keep rocks up to make this thing RKable.
Mega_Blastoise_Mini_Sprite.png
: A very bulky mega that will force me to keep Shaymin alive. Otherwise, Arcanine can deal between 60 and 70% damage with wild charge, but with full health it can take at least 3 hits form any other member of my team. Thank goodness this thing doesn't have reliable recovery.
images
: Is a bit problematic because it can bounce my hazards, but is usually easy to predict, and I can switch safely into Absol or Mienshao (making a bit risky double switch).
671.png
: Is difficult to handle this special wall when two of my physical sweepers are weak to it's STAB, but Arcanine doesn't fear a moonblast and 2HKO with flare blitz, while it also takes decent damage from Shaymin's seed flare.
porygon-z.png
: Specs adaptability tri atack really cripples my team bar Shuckle. Only Shaymin is able to take even an ice beam and kill it with seed flare (86-102%). If it is a double dance or only agility set and I over predict, revenge killing with Arcanine and Absol is my only way to kill it.
images
: P-Z bro is a great wall that can stop and hit really hard most of my team, but is easy to deal with it after knocking off it's eviolite with Absol and kicking with Arcanine's close combat or Mienshao's HJK. If Shuckle is still alive, it can toxic and encore this machine.
245.png
: CroCune is a huge thread to any team in UU (and even in OU, but Slowbro-M will probably outclass him). After setting up one calm mind is really difficult to kill, and Shaymin is the only one that can switch into a scald and deal a great amount of damage even with +1 in SpD.

And this is all, friends, my HO UU team. I hope you enjoyed this post and I'll thank your help to improve it. Hugs!

I tested a bit with this team, and I found just a few problems. Immediately I switched Flygon for Scarfed Mienshao and has performed much better while keeping the same role as a momentum gainer/late-game cleaner.

Another thing I noticed is that you lack a spinblocker. Looking through the viable options in UU I couldn't really find anything to suit your team other than an offensive Chandelure. You already have two amazing physical attackers in Absol and Mienshao so replacing Arcanine with a Chandelure set of your choice wouldn't be the worst idea. Otherwise the team is very good and definitely has potential to go high on the ladder. GL.

Switching Flygon for Mienshao really convinces me, because I only choosed Flygon because of it's typing and ability, that provides both an electric and ground immunity to stop earthquake spam and to threaten volt-turn cores to be blocked by him; while Mienshao really acts better as a scarfer, and I think it'll fit better in the team.

About switching Arcanine for Chandelure, the most common spinners in UU, as I saw, are M-Blastoise, Starmie, Donphan, Forretress and Tentacruel. Using Chandelure as a spinblocker, I can only switch in safely into Forretress (and Tentacruel, since Chande can survive a scald, but it is still very effective), and I'm not able to kill all of them at full HP except Forretress, Donphan after having sturdy broken, and Starmie if SW was setted up. I don't want to risk a mon in a quite predictable switch in that can finish with Chandelure dead against the most common spinners. I prefer keeping Arcanine to pressure the foe for not spinning and help with revenge killing.

Although this last detail, thank you so much for the Mienshao recommendation ;)

Go back to analytic on starmie. It can force a lot of switches, and you already have Arcanine for wisp, Absol with magic bounce, and natural cure Shaymin, so it's now like you need more status absorbing. Have you considered black glasses Spiritomb for spin blocking? It can weaken Blastoise to the point where it's easily revengeable by the team, gets sucker punch for more priority, and can pursuit trap ghosts for Mienshao. I'm on a mobile device right now, but the set's something like max hp max attack (maybe a bit of Spdef for Stoise) with willo, sucker, sneak, and pursuit

heya this is absolutely solid team and Im gonna give it a go on the ladder, but I have one small suggestion to make
Lilinette (Shaymin) @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Earth power/psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Rest / Synthesis

Honestly your team struggles against hydreigon, Shaymin is able to tank a fire blast from a scarf variant and proceed to KO it with Dazzling gleam. Honestly your only answer is mienshao and if that's down you're going to have a hard time beating dreigon, but none the less fantastic team. Psychic over earth power if you want to beat crobat on the switch in still. Dazzling gleam also provides nice coverage, hitting lucario/Cobalion nuetrally, aswell as hitting Absol/Krookodile for SE damage. Along with Vizirion (but thats hit by Psychic too)
