[SET]
Fast Pivot (Mienfoo) @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
Level: 5
Tera Type: Steel / Water
EVs: 196 Def / 36 SpD / 236 Spe
Jolly Nature
- High Jump Kick
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Fake Out / Taunt
[SET COMMENTS]
Mienfoo continues its LC dominance with its mixture of defensive fortitude from Regenerator, moveset utility, and its Speed acting as the benchmark for the rest of the tier. Knock Off enables Mienfoo to create constant progress against opposing Pokemon like Foongus and Mareanie who resist its Fighting-type attacks. U-turn synergizes with Mienfoo's Regenerator ability while also exploiting defensive switches that Mienfoo often causes. Fake Out is a useful move for helping Mienfoo lead against opposing teams and chipping down Choice Scarf users. Taunt is a valuable substitute to Fake Out that can prevent setup and Foongus's Spore. Tera Steel grants Mienfoo important resistances to Vullaby's Brave Bird and both of Foongus's STAB-move options. Alternatively, Tera Water can be used in order to resist Shellder's Icicle Spear and Hisuian Growlithe’s Flare Blitz.
Mienfoo's versatility allows it to fit on a large variety of teams. Vullaby is Mienfoo's most common partner because of its ability to manage Foongus that Mienfoo struggles to deal with, while Mienfoo can deal significant damage to Tinkatink for Vullaby. Mienfoo's pivoting power from U-turn allows frailer teammates like Elekid and Alolan Diglett more opportunities to enter the battlefield. Gothita is another excellent partner for Mienfoo as its Shadow Tag abililty allows it to trap Poison-types like Foongus and Mareanie that Mienfoo has difficulties making progress into.
