Hello fellow smogoners, you can just call me Masaki. I've come to present to you my Fate/Stay night themed pokemon team - Fate/RMT. For those of you don't know, Fate/Stay night is a very popular visual novel by Type-Moon released in Japan in 2004. Since then it has spawned a sequel, a prequel, several video games and its own Anime series. It has also been translated to english by the fan group Mirror Moon. It is a very impressive story filled with suspense, romance, drama and all the action you can want. I strongly recommend this Visual novel to anyone who has not had the pleasure to read this VN. But enough of that, on to the team.

Team Synopsis

The basis of this team is to be as competitive as possible while keeping with the Fate/Stay Night theme. Each pokemon was picked for their likeness of specific F/SN character. Their roles on the team relate to the character's fighting style in the novel. Each pokemon will be introduced first by the character they represent, a small bio on that character and the pokemon's description. Now finally on to the best part - the Team! Also
something I you might notice - this team is very similar to Kevin Garrett's latest Archived RMT. I had created this team about a month before I even saw Kevin Garrett's RMT. You can imagine how surprised I was to see such a similar team be used by such a successful battler.

RMTIllyaSignature.png

Illyasviel von Einzberg of Germany. She hails from a noble family, the only heir to the Einzberg fortune. Although she may have the stature and personality of a young child, she possesses great magical prowess and cunning wit. She is often taunting her enemies and lulling them into a false sense of security. Outside the battlefield however, she is very docile. Well, mostly.

Smeargle (F)
Held Item: Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Atk, 252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Explosion
  • Stealth Rock
  • Spore
  • Spikes
Ah lead Smeargle. A while ago, the only lead Smeargles I used to see were for Baton Chains, however one day while reading some random RMT I saw this set. Instantly I recognized the potency of this lead. I often call this lead the biggest Risk/Reward lead. If it gets set up, you will have one crippled or fainted pokemon, SR and 1-3 layers of Spikes up plus SR not being on my side of the field. However there is still a big chance of this lead being completely shut down. Basically, if you're faster and you have taunt, Fake Out, Sleep Powder, or your name is Tyranitar, you've won this match-up. Still, having SR and a couple of Layers of Spikes with some deadly sweepers usually means victory. If I run into a lead that gives me trouble like say.... Taunt Azelf, I'll usually switch to the next pokemon:

RMTBerserkerSignature.png

Servant Class Berserker. You see that monster? He's actually scarier than he looks. I wish I was kidding. Considering all Servants have divine abilities and are near God-Like, it really means something that this guy is head over shoulders above them. His real Identity is actually the Greek Legend Hercules. Although most masters try to keep the identities of their servants secret, Illya has no qualms of revealing to the enemy who her servant is. And rightfully so, Berseker has such immense strength, other servants spend most of the war developing a plan just to defeat him. His appearance on the battlefield means certain death for his enemies. Not only is he the strongest Servant as far as brute strength goes, he's even the second fastest Servant in the competition. However, it does come at a cost. While the Berserker class does increase all the parameters of a servant, it also strips them of their sanity, they become no more than feral beasts.

Metagross
Item Held: Choice Scarf
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 28 HP, 252 Atk, 228 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

  • Earthquake
  • Explosion
  • Meteor Mash
  • Thunderpunch
Choice Scarf Metagross, my main revenge killer. I choose ScarfGross simply because not many people expect it. Combining Metagross impressive bulk with excellent speed makes one hell of a pokemon. However, it sadly comes at the cost of not being able to switch attacks. But it is still a very potent threat and can sweep teams by himself. I use Mash for STAB, Thunderpunch to kill Gyrados and other Bulky Waters, and Earthquake to cover everything else that resists steel and electric. Unless your name is Rotom. Then fuck you. I choose to forgo Trick for Explosion because a Scarf Explosion coming from a 369 Attack stat hurts. A lot.

RMTRinSignature.png

Tosaka Rin, star student and secret mage. Beautiful, Intelligent and Athletic, she is a Role Model student and the top of her class. She is also exceptionally skilled at magic. She was orphaned at a young age and was raised by a priest in the art of magic. She tried to summon a Servant Class Saber but summoned a Servant Class Archer instead. She is cynical and very Tsundere but has a good heart and is protective of others. Like Illya, she comes from a strong lineage of magic users.

Latias (F)
Item Held: Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 128 HP, 252 Spd, 128 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)

  • Calm Mind
  • Dragon Pulse
  • Recover
  • Safeguard
I love Safeguard Latias. Its awesome to see the Blissey switch in as you Calm Mind to try and Status you only fail as you get Safeguard up. Then you switch a Set-up Sweeper and... Sweep. It works all the time. I am honestly surprised that Safeguard isnt used more often when Status can be so deadly. At any rate, with Safeguard, Latias has the ability to beat Non-Calm Mind Blisseys one-on-one, which is awesome. Dragon Pulse is used as its only attack since not that many pokemon resist it. This Latias is heavy Pursuit bait though... but thats not necessarily a bad thing :)

RMTArcherSignature.png

Servant Class Archer. He is the Servant summoned by Rin. Cynical and Brash, he suits his master perfectly. However there is something peculiar about him. His Identity is a mystery. He claims that he lost his memory due to the botched summoning but that is hard to believe. And although he is of the Archer Class, he is able to produce Swords from thin air and is very adept at wielding them. Just who is this man?

Scizor (M)
Item Held: Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP, 252 Atk, 8 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • U-turn
  • Bullet Punch
  • Pursuit
  • Superpower
Whats a Good OU team without CB Scizor? I don't think I really need to explain his role but I will anyway. With his numerous resistances, Scizor can find a number ways to switch in and hit the opponent with a U-Turn or a Powerful Bullet Punch. It can pursuit fragile psychics and destroy Blissey. There's nothing like setting up Safeguard as Blissey Thunder Waves, only to send in Scizor to kill it. I am contemplating using the Swords Dance Scizor as a set up for Luke and because of its relation to the F/SN theme.

RMTSaberSignature.png

Servant Class Saber. Considered the most Outstanding Servant Class because of its minimal weaknesses and numerous strengths. Don't let Saber's small frame fool you, she'll kick your ass. She is easily the most powerful servant bar Berserker. She can match Berserker if she is close to 100%. She keeps her Sword invisible using a veil of wind because if her Sword is revealed, her Identity is revealed. She has near precognitive battle instinct and her swordsmanship is unmatched. She also has the Mana of the Dragon, which are considered the most powerful mythical creatures. She is very kind outside of battle but she tries to suppress her emotions to avoid showing weakness.

Salamence (F)
Item Held: Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 16 Atk, 252 Spd, 240 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)

  • Draco Meteor
  • Earthquake
  • Flamethrower
  • Outrage
MixMence baby. This thing is just a beast. I love to just send Salamence in on any opportunity it can get just wreak havoc on the opponent's team. Draco Meteor hurts a lot and I can follow up with an equally as destructive Outrage. I use Flamethrower because I usually don't need Fire Blast's power so the accuracy and PP drop isnt worth it. Intimidate lets me come in on physical attackers and absorb their attacks then counter with my own. I run Naive because Salamence really appreciates the speed.

RMTShirouSignature.png

Emiya Shirou, the main protagonist. Shirou attends the same school as Rin and often idolized her. However, when he is quickly thrust into this war between Servants, he quickly finds out that not everything is what he thought it was. He is Saber's master. He summoned her in what seems like an accidental summoning just in time for her to save his life. He was orphaned as a young boy but was adopted by a man named Emiya Kiritsurugi. Kiritsurugi died a few years later and Shirou adopted his dream to become a Superhero. He has practiced the little magic he know's for years before he teamed up with Rin. He seems to have hidden potential but his magical talent is... lacking.

Lucario (M)
Item Held: Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk, 4 Def, 252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

  • Swords Dance
  • Close Combat
  • Extremespeed
  • Crunch
To top it all off, I present to you SD Luke. I shouldn't have to explain this guy either but I will. Come in on weakened team, Set-up and sweep. I run Crunch because I hate to be walled by Ghosties. I don't run any Ice moves because I can easily beat Gliscor with Latias or Mence. Sometimes though I just like to send Luke in early if it has a chance to set up and just wreck shit. Surprisingly, most of the time it works.

Well thats all I have, thank you for reading this RMT. I hoped you enjoyed it and the banners I made. Feedback would be greatly appreciated since this is my first RMT.

This looks similar to the team called "Team Kevin Please come Home." I tried that team a lot, and it was reasonably successful. The biggest problem ive encountered with that team, and i suspect you will too, is faster taunters, lum berry leads, and Roserade. If you cant get up some hazards your going to have a tough time

Also, you dont have a ghost to stop spinners. Spinners can really mess up the fast paced nature of a team like this. Rotom-h is a beast, but that would make it a copy of the team i mentioned a little earlier.

Personally, if you are trying to sweep a weakened team late game, I'd use a jolly Lucario. Those can destroy other lucario, who are usually saved for late game too.

Hope that helps!

You have quite a weakness to Scizor, who can Revenge/ Counter all of your Pokemon bar 1, Metagross, who can't even touch it. I agree undisput3d as well, in the regard that you lack a spin-blocker for your precious Spikes. Spikes play a large role in this team, so I suggest Rotom-H over Metagross. Metagross plays a very similar role to Scizor, so it's rather redundant. Try this set out:

Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature
4 hp/252 spa/252 spd
-Trick
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball
-Overheat/HP Fighting

This set will also help against Lucario, Scizor, Tyranitar (on the switch), and Gyarados. It serves a great check to multiple threats, and blocks spinners, threatening every spinner that is used. This will provide a nice addition to the team, so good luck!

Thanks for the response guys. A few things: Scizor and Metagross' serve totally different purposes. Scizor is used to scout and revenge kill pokemon like Salamence or pursuit things to death. Metagross is used to revenge kill pokemon that Scizor can't like Gyarados. He's also used to Explode on any powerful threat that needs to be removed. While Rotom can do most the things Metagross does, probably better, and it can Spin-Block, it doesn't have the Raw Power that Metagross does. Plus it doesn't fit the theme as well as Gross does :)

Remember my goal: The basis of this team is to be as competitive as possible while keeping with the Fate/Stay Night theme.
