SV OU Feedback on my team (1460 peak)

Hi! It's the first team I've made that I've climbed with semi-consistently. I know 1400s is not that high but it's the first time for me that I've made it so high and having losses where I go "oh shit, if I had done this instead of that I may have won". I used to run a variation of this already bulky team, one where I ran Slowking-Galar and Tinkaton rather than Goodra-Hisui and Darkrai. I admit that I enjoy more the first two (makes it for a quicker game) but I'm all ears. Thank you in advance.

Wiu wiu wiu (Alomomola) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Scald
- Flip Turn
- Wish
- Protect

This bulky team revolves around Alomomola to keep it healthy, while also having a Regenerator Pokemon which gives me inherent longevity. It allows me to switch into Great Tusk, Kingambit and maybe even Dragonite with ease, while also threatening to burn them with Scald AND giving me momentum with flip turn. This might be the most critical member of the team as it is pivotal against most stall teams.

TERA: I have to admit I'm pretty bad at judging when to Tera Alomomola and I haven't done that in a long long time. While very important, I usually end up Teraing other Mons, most frequently Lando and Pecharunt. Tera Poison allows me to negate Toxic.

Pierluigi (Pecharunt) @ Red Card
Ability: Poison Puppeteer
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Malignant Chain
- Hex
- Parting Shot
- Recover

I found a set of Red-Card Tera-Fairy Pecharunt ages ago and that combo has really stuck with me. I find it can be really disruptive and catch a lot of people off guard. It's also my hail mary against sweepers like Zamazenta, tera-Ground Iron Moth, Bulk-up Great tusk, Kingambit, etc. Specially Zamazenta, provided it doesn't tera-Steels, gets walled by Pecharunt, even if not Terastalized. Not to mention that it tanks even super effective Physical moves fairly well, even a +1 Dragonite Earthquake. It's also great against most past/future Pokemon sets, negating their Booster Energy use. Por example, I can disrupt Iron Valiant set up provided I can tera before the Shadowball or read an incoming Moonblast.

Malignant chain allows me to deal with some walls like Clefable, Dondozo or Alomomola which I otherwise really struggle, specially the Unaware sets.

TERA: Gets rid of my ground weakness while also allowing me to neutralize an incoming dragon-type attacks into Malignant chain.

Nishinoya (Cinderace) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Libero
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 224 HP / 32 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Pyro Ball
- U-turn
- Court Change
- Will-O-Wisp

As you can see, my team has 0 hazard interaction other than Court Change - Cinderace, and that's my main intentional use for this Pokemon. Also, it's great to chip down some threats that I cannot outright OHKO since my team is pretty slow other than Darkrai. That's when I rely on U-Turn into Alomomola into Flip Turn into U-Turn. It's my only fast-fast Pokemon and my only consistant answer to Corviknight. Will o wisp comes in handy more often than I anticipated, it's a killer against Kingambit as it ensures it won't hit like a truck. The original set is supposed to be Blaze, but I run Libero since I've found STAB-U Turn to be more useful.

Sir Isaac Newton (Landorus-Therian) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Smack Down
- Substitute

Sir Isaac Newton has been an staple in most Pokemon teams I've made over the years. I'll admit it, it's not the strongest set but when allowed to set up it can be deadly. I used to run Gravity instead of Smack Down (hence the nickname) but found it bothersome to only have one type of damage. It's also great to break Multiscale and deal some damage to flying-types considering my Lando is pretty bulky. Again, I have no idea on the EVs just thought I should have a bulky Lando and it has been working up pretty well so far. Also Intimidate is great :D I used to run Stone edge but found it super unreliable plus I got walled by Corviknight far too ofter. I used to run Gliscor briefly because I was frustrated by burns, but Lando is just superior and my team already lacks damage. Nowadays I either try to predict by switching into Cinderace or swords dance to neutralize the effect.

French guy (Darkrai) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Bad Dreams
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb
- Ice Beam
- Trick

I used to run Nasty Plot Darkrai but found liking choice scarf just a tad more. It allows me to revenge kill a lot of Future/Past Pokemon even after they have set up with Booster Energy and it still hits like a truck. Also, Choice Scarf - Trick is great to screw the likes of Garganacl or even Zamazenta which can be annoying to deal with otherwise. I run tera Ghost instead of poison to bypass Extreme Speed Dragonite or Zamazenta after being given the scarf, etc. Still not sure if I should stay with this though.

Kakashi Hatake (Goodra-Hisui) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 48 SpA / 208 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Flash Cannon
- Fire Blast

Goodra H is my Special Tank and really excells at it while also taking neutral physical damage Okay due to its natural bulk and excellent typing. Even super effective special attacks don't deal a lot of damage to Goodra so it answers most of these type of Pokemon provided they haven't set up a +2 or more. It walls Gholdengo, Pivot Corviknight, pivot Raging Volt and Specs Iron Valiant. Goodra also gives me the extra coverage my team otherwise lacks in Thunderbolt and Flash Cannon. Although not that reliable, the set I saw ages ago said it needed the extra damage in Fire Blast rather than Flamethrower. As I'm writing this, I realize I actually don't need to put Fire Blast AND extra points in SpA to deal with Zapdos or Kingambit. I really have no clue what I'm doing here - so open to suggestions.

Because this set is not so prevalent, it also catches a lot of people off guard, allowing me to Flash Cannon into Ice beam the likes of Dragonites, Gliscors and Landorus-Therians that think can set up after Flash Cannon has failed to do significant damage.

TERA: Although not great defensively, Tera-Flying allows me to survive pivotal moments like Earthquake dragonite or a hurt Great Tusk. I never use it early tho.

summer sensation (Slowking-Galar) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Sludge Bomb
- Future Sight
- Chilly Reception
- Ice Beam
Having two regenerator mons is great. I really used to like Slowking-Galar as my Special Wall as it disrupts rain and sun teams which are the losses that piss me off the most. While I understand Ice beam is unconventional, I've fiddled with some other options but none of them stick with me. At least with Ice beam I can catch some set up sweepers that want to set up on my turn such as Great Tusk and Dragonite or hazard setters such as Gliscor and Lando-T. To be fair, I seldom use Ice Beam, so if you can think of something better, I'm all ears... eyes.

TERA: Water is a great defensive type.

kirby (Tinkaton) (F) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Pickpocket
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 24 SpD / 232 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Gigaton Hammer
- Encore
- Play Rough
- Thunder Wave
Tinkaton is the last Pokemon and the one I'm not entirely convinced. Pretty standard other than I've switched Stealth Rock for play rough since I have a no hazards policy. I don't have much input on this one other that it was the first Poke I was sure to put on the team because I thought having a 160 base power move was pretty rad. It tanks some hits, paralyzes some fast Pokemon and... yeah. I think this is the only Pokemon I feel at ease going against sp-attacker Dragapult which otherwise anhiliates my team (since I didn't run Goodra with this team).

Please let me know what you think and how I can improve my team.

Hello, and welcome to Smogon!

The biggest problem I see right now is the team's overall philosophy is too conservative for an offensive team, but not bulky enough to play like a stall team. There is evidence of some mastery of the tier and I do think you are being too hard on yourself, but I just don't see any win condition outside of maybe Landorus-Therian. It basically feels like it pivots around until your opponent sets something up and snaps the team in two. Coupled with the lack of any hazard setting and I can see why matches get long. I'll get to a full rate in the morning as I do see some potential fixes, but it will take a good night's sleep to make sure I get something I like to you.

Still on my radar for a full rate - this reminds me of a couple of similar Pinkacross teams that I'll post the RMTs to below. It might help give some ideas. I would play with each of these for a bit for practice. People will recognize them, but for the ladder that's OK. It's more to see what these teams do that yours don't quite do yet.

Hi! I appreciate it. And you have put into words what I have felt off about this team. I’ll try them out. Thank you in advance!

You are welcome. I try to gauge rates based on experience of the builder sometimes. The common procedure would be rip the team apart and provide some suggestions, but I don't think that helps the most here. My suggestion is I would test with the two teams given and then look at your team again with fresh eyes.
