This is it. This is my entire Rain Team. Building this team ain't easy. Well, at least for me. As you know(or you might know), I started competitive battling not long ago. I tried this team out in PO and the results isn't too disappointing, ranking at 2000+(I know, it sucks but hey). Don't laugh at me because I am new or something like that, just give me advice on what should I do. I will take every advice given seriously and make adjustments to my team.

I long wanted to try out a Weather Team. I started with Hail because I just love Froslass. But unfortunately, Hail is outshadowed but the main reason is Stalling, isn't my style. I like to hit hard and fast. So thus, I am left with 3 choices. Sandstorm doesn't suit me as I don't like the "theme" of it. I pictured in my mind, me battling in a Rainy Day and think it was amazing. Thus, a Rain Team was made.

Politoed_and_co_by_purplekecleon.png

Politoed @ Choice Specs
Ability: Drizzle
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Ice Beam
-Focus Blast
-Hynosis

My main lead. A staple on every 5th Gen Rain Team. The Pokemon that was once ignored as emerged as a must-have Pokemon on any Rain Team. I chose Choice Specs because of Tyranitars, Vulpixes and Hippos and Abomasnows. They are the common weather starter and I was always faster than them, thus I can finish them quickly. Focus Blast to deal 4x to TTar, and destroy Abomasnow, Hydro Pump or Ice Beam to hit Hippo hard. The accuracy of Hydro Pump is really disappointing. I've missed 5 times in a row before and that changed like, the overall result of the game. Focus Blast is too, disappointing accuracy. Hypnosis is terrible. But having a Choice Specs, I know you have to hit hard so yeah. Unless I get a Life Orb, then I can get Surf and other jizz. Though I'm thinking of replacing Hydro Pump with Surf. Opinions?

Ludicolo_by_Ar_Bo.png

Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Ability: Rain Dish
Nature: Modest
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Hydro Pump
-Energy Ball
-Ice Beam
-Energy Ball(maybe considering Grass Knot)

Ludicolo. Ahhh, the carefree one. I built this team having Ludicolo as a staple in mind. This guy amazed me tons of times when I was battling with other Rain Abusers. I chose Energy Ball instead of Giga Drain is because Energy Ball has higher power. But that is not the main reason; I chose this because my Ludicolo is not the only sweeper. I use this guy is too eliminate the dangerous threats fast in order for my Jolteon / Gliscor(mainly Jolteon) to come in and clean up. The thing that always makes me go "lolwut" is that my Hydro Pump on this guy, never misses. Never. Lolwut? Never mind. Loving this guy so far. Swift Swim plus Rain is win. Ludicolo is really one of my favourite. Really.

Toxi_by_Toxicroak.png

Toxicroak @ Life Orb
Ability: Dry Skin
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
-Sucker Punch
-Drain Punch
-Sword Dance
-Substitute

Monster in the rain, he has net many KO's without SD under the Rain with Dry Skin for recovery. Life Orb's recoil isn't a problem. This guy is in great synergy with Gliscor. This is my water soaker. Predict the -insert Water-Type move- and switch in and watch the HP soar. Sucker Punch is great to use. Drain Punch lets it recover after setting up. Substitute is a great move for dealing Breloom, which is a pain for me. Nothing much to say about this guy but, I love you, Toxicroak. I really do.

Jolteon_by_quartzy.jpg

Jolteon @ Life Orb
Ability: Volt Absorb
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
-Thunder
-Volt Switch
-Shadow Ball
-Protect

Jolteon is a natural Choice Specs user. But, I replaced it for Life Orb. You see, after Ludicolo is down, probably Jolteon will go up. If I were to use Choice Specs, I would probably have to switch if some Excadrill *** came in and that would put the next Pokemon that I am sending in in disadvantage. Thunder for obvious reasons. Shadow Ball for coverage. Protect instead of HP. I can't breed for HP for all the reasons in the world. Yes, you got that right, I am lazy. Exams are coming. School require me to stay back oftenly. And most importantly, I don't know where to start from. After all busy-period, I will start to breed for HP. Protect isn't a bad choice. It is with good synergy with Life Orb+Volt Switch+Protect in my opinion. Protect to see if there is any life-threatening moves for my Jolteon. If there is, I'll just Volt Switch away. If not, Thunder hits them like a truck. Or not. I've used this set to moderate success(it works most of the time). But Jolteon is fragile so I'm probably looking for alternative.

Gliscor_by_vitzzz.jpg

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Nature: Impish
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spe
-Acrobatics
-Earthquake
-Fling
-Sword Dance

The normal Fling-Acro set. But this badass bat is one of the most, if not, the most potent sweeper if it ever survives after a SD and it’s at late game. He has surprisingly survived a lot of Super Effective moves and often a check to Tyranitar, which is pretty scary. An Earthquake and down he goes. Speed is a main issue here but survivability is most valuable to this purple bat. This guy has really earned his chance to remain in this team. Nothing much to say about this guy really as his moves is really self-explanatory. A check to Breloom with Toxic Orb...Uh, yeah that’s about it.

tangrowth_and_hoppip_by_SailorClef.jpg

Tangrowth @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
Nature: Relaxed
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
-Power Whip
-Earthquake
-Sleep Power
-Leech Seed
Hmmm...My wall. Tangrowth caught my eye long in the 4th Gen. I wanted to use him in this Gen as this is my first competitive team(at least the first decent one). I’ve considered Ferrothorn. I don’t like him much and don’t think I’ll ever do. Though if it’s good, I might consider switching. Try to stick with this buddy if you can. But if you can’t, VOICE OUT OPINIONS. Really, I don’t mind. Anyway, Regnerator let it stick around further and the EV Spread ensures that it can survive a mild Fire-Type Attack and hit it back with Earthquake. Earthquake is really invaluable. Many people assumes that this dude doesn’t have an EQ and send out their Heatran blah blah blah and got KO’ed by EQ.

Overall, this is my team. I hope you can really look at it and you know, give advice. No flaming / bashing. I’m new. Of course, being new isn’t an excuse. Be harsh, but not to the extent of flaming. I’ve seen many people saying that they are new blah blah blah and when they got harsh comments or just strict, they will turn into rage mode and start to troll etc. Anyway, this ain’t the point. I love Rain Team and yes. I will always do. I will try a Sun Team sometimes because Arcanine ftw.

I do not neccessarily be playing in Smogon's server. And mostly I'm battling with my bunch of competitive friends and sometimes the Wi-Fi so yeah, that isn't an issue.

Even though I play wi-fi it is still banned combo even with friends. When you play wi-fi here drizzle + ss is banned, just like moody and blaziken! FIx the complex ban or just put rain dish on ludicolo.

Fixed. And I am currently playing on PO and will only play on that until my team if finished, which is why I said Swift Swim is allowed on other servers.
