[OVERVIEW]
*Ferroseed is a niche option among hazard setters with its improved bulk thanks to Eviolite.
*Ferroseed has an impressive series of resists in Water, Electric, Fairy, Psychic and Steel because of its great defensive typing, letting it take on offensive threats in the tier such as Primarina, Aerodactyl-Mega, Altaria-Mega, Latias, and Nihilego.
*Ferroseed also has a niche of punishing Rapin Spinners like Tsarenna and Tentacruel which at times can deny them the spin and instead kill it from Iron Barbs.
*Ferroseed has a set of valuable utility moves, such as Leech Seed + Protect, Thunder Wave and Knock Off, which can help make up for its lack of reliable recovery and cripple mons via Thunder Wave, Knock Off, and Toxic.
*Unfortunately, Ferroseed often finds itself as a setup fodder due to its passivity and poor stats, thus often failing to deny other Pokémon from setting up. Ferroseed struggles against the likes of powerful sweepers in the tier. Celebi, Lucario, and Terrakion/Cobalion all threaten Ferroseed with powerful moves with Z - Psychium, Aura Sphere, and Close Combat respectively.
*Ferroseed as a noticeable quad weakness to fire. Many pokemon in the tier like Amoonguss, Celebi, and Hydreigon run coverage in forms of fire moves for Scizor, which means Ferroseed will see itself falling in the same trap. Ferroseed will be forced out by fire type offensive mons such as Infernape, Volcanion and Moltres.
*Ferroseed relies a ton on its Eviolite, a Knock Off onto Ferroseed would seriously hinder its ability to fulfill its role of a support mon.

Moves
========
*Hazards are necessary on Ferroseed as it had a good match up against a lot of the hazard setters in the tier such as Gligar and Hippowdon. Spikes can be used to rack up damage on upposing pokemon. Stealth Rocks can also be an option if the team cannot learn it outside of Ferroseed.
*Leech Seed is another mandatory move on Ferroseed, as it is the only way for Ferroseed to be able to gain health. Leech Seed can not only chip but also can give other members of the team health. Healing HP with Leech Seed can help Ferroseed 1v1 other rockers in the tier like Hippowdon and Gligar, both of which have reliable recovery.
*Protect, paired with Leech Seed, can further help chip and heal for Ferroseed. Protect is also useful as it can help scout moves, most notably coverage fire moves.
*Toxic can be used over Protect so that Ferroseed wouldn’t be a complete fodder to common setup Pokemon such as Latias, which can setup fairly easily and stall out the Gyro Ball. Additionally, Toxic helps wear down bulkier Pokemon which might annoy Ferroseed such as Alomomola and Primarina. Toxic can also help take care of common dragon dancers in the tier like Mega Altaria and Feraligatr, where Gyro Ball paired with Leech Seed might not cripple like Toxic does.
*Gyro Ball is a mandatory move for the last slot. This helps Ferroseed become a counter to a non Fire Blast Mega Altaria, where otherwise Mega Altaria would be able to setup freely. Gyro Ball can also be used to hit common scarfers such as Hydreigon and Heal Bell Togekiss.
Set Details
========
*Maximum HP investment is used to improve Ferroseed’s overall bulk, and supports its longevity throughout the battle so it can reliability set up hazards.
*180 SpDef and a Sassy Nature helps give Ferroseed avoid a 3HKO from a Hydro Pump dished out by Specs Primarina. Sassy Nature also gives Ferroseed a loss in speed so that it can deal more damage with Gyro Ball.
*The remaining EVs are dumped in Defense so that Ferroseed to improve its bulk against Pokemon like Altaria-Mega and take physical hits better from Scizor and Aerodactyl-Mega.
Usage Tips
========
*Bring Ferroseed in on pokemon that it can handle such as Altaria-Mega, Alomomola, and Gligar. Get hazards up to start pressuring the opposing team.
*Leech Seed should prioritized after the hazards have been set up, unless it is late game and Ferroseed needs health to keep the team from losing to threats like Aerodactyl-Mega. Teams without Wish Support or some kind of heal outside of Leech Seed should be used carefully, as an opposing team with Liquid Ooze Tentacruel can make Ferroseed lose health. The combination of Protect and Leech Seed should avoid being used excessively, as it can invite in offensive Pokemon like Celebi which can set up on Ferroseed's passivity. Leech Seed would be used carefully against teams with Amoonguss, as Amoonguss can get a free Regenerator heal off.
*Never let Ferroseed take a Knock off, as losing Eviolite would heavily deprive of Ferroseed's bulk. Ferroseed should play carefully against common Knock Off users such as Krookodile and Crawdaunt.
*Use protect to scout for unsuspecting coverage moves, and also to bait in Z moves from your opponent. Protect paired with Leech Seed would bring in more health to Ferroseed as well. Protect can also be used to scout suspecting choiced pokemon so that you can make the respective play next turn.
*Bring in Ferroseed consistently to get chip on pokemon like Gligar and Alomomola. It is very easy to get the health back with Leech Seed and that chip can open doors to other members of the team in the mid - endgame stages.
*Gyro Ball is important for Ferroseed as it helps remove some of its passivity and giving more options for it so that Pokemon like Togekiss, Haxorus, and Terrakion cannot setup in front of Ferroseed freely. Gyro Ball should be used to prevent getting swept or dealing enough damage for other team members when those Pokemon could easily finish the game off. These cases will usually come toward end game where most of your Pokemon are weakened and the opposing team still has the offensive aforementioned Pokemon.
*Toxic is also a vital part of Ferroseed's job in crippling. Toxic should be used to put Pokemon that can stall off Ferroseed on a timer, such as Latias, Infernape, and Feraligatr. Toxic can also be used in Stall matches to help whittle down Alomomola and Quagsire faster.
Team Options
========
*Ferroseed is generally used on bulkier balance teams which can support it. Rock types like Nihilego gives speed control and a nice resistance to Fire type moves, and also has access to STAB sludge wave which can help get rid Leech Seed immune grass types. Nihilego is further a fantastic partner for Ferroseed as it can fill in the role of a rocker, giving Ferroseed more options to run another move like Spikes. Other rock types such as Mega Aerodactyl, which can provide rocks, and Rhyperior, which can effectively beat common defoggers like Rotom and Moltres, are great partners for Ferroseed.
*Support mons that can give Ferroseed Wish passing recovery is greatly appreciated by Ferroseed. Pokemon like Florges, Alomomola and Sylveon are great partners are they provide reliable Wish passing. Florges and Sylveon also provide the cleric role which can help remove annoying status such as a burn.
*Ferroseed also doesn't like offensive powerhouses, like Banded Terrakion, Lucario and Infernape which takes a big advantage of Ferroseed. Thus, Slowbro is a reliable partner as it can come in these threats and gain the lost HP back with Regenerator. Tentacruel and Starmie can provide a similar role but as a spinner.
*Ferroseed is heavily dependant on Eviolite, so Pokemon that can take advantage of Knock Off like Coballion and Terrakion, with Justified boosts, are a great partner for Ferroseed. Z move users that don't care about Knock Off such as Hydreigon helps Ferroseed out as well.
*Pokemon that can take advantage of spikes and chip can become more useful with Ferroseed, Pokemon such as Mega Sharpedo, Infernape and Mega Altaria are especially great as they appreciate the support of hazards as well as a switchin to the premiere fairy types in the tier such as Primarina and Mega Altaria.
*Ferroseed appreciates teammates than get take down Pokemon that doesn't mind Leech Seed, such as Celebi and Amoonguss. Thus, Pokemon like Kyurem and Mamoswine can be great partners, with Kyurem being able to shrug off Spore from Amoonguss with the Substitute set, and Mamoswine being more offensive but also being able to use Stealth Rocks.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
*Ferroseed can run status inducing moves such as Thunder-wave and Toxic to further cripple other teams if the team overall has poor speed control.Toxic can be used to cripple pokemon like Chesnaght and Infernape that wouldn't be scared of Ferroseed. However, these options are less nesccary than Protect + Leech Seed which finds more use in games.

Checks and Counters
===================
**Fighting Types**: Fighting Types such as Lucario, Terrakion, and Coballion all threaten Ferroseed with their STAB fighting moves. These pokemon easily force out Ferroseed and can use that opportunity to set up and deal great damage to the team.
**Fire Types**: Fire Types are quad effective versus Ferroseed, thus meaning that the fire types in the tier such as Infernape, Volcanion, and Chandelure all take out Ferroseed in one shot. Other Offensive fire types in the tier such as Infernape can take advantage of Ferroseed's passivity and set up on Ferroseed, which can a big issue as Infernape can proceed to deal some big damage on your team. Outside of crippling with Toxic and Leech Seed, Ferroseed stands no chance against all fire types in the tier.
**Taunt**: Taunt is the absolute nemesis of Ferroseed. Taunt shuts down almost everything that Ferroseed can do. Making it utterly useless because of the prevention of being able to use its support moves. Lack of recovery and inability to set hazards are issues for Ferroseed which may give it a big hinderance in effectiveness. Taunt users in the tier like Azelf, Krookadile, and variants of Hydreigon all give Ferroseed big trouble.
**Knock Off**: Knock Off can be a big issue for Ferroseed, severely limiting its bulk and capabilities, thus making it more vulnerable to attacks that it should be able to take. Common Knock Off users such as Krookodile, Crawdaunt, and some Tentacruel and Empoleon are Pokémon that Ferroseed likes to avoid. Ferroseed can also be caught by a Knock Off Scizor when trying to get some chip on a move.
**Trick Users**: Trick Users can also be annoying to Ferroseed. Scarf Latias and Gengar with Trick can always catch Ferroseed, making it choice locked into one move with a reduce in bulk because of the Eviolite loss
