[SET COMMENTS]
Ferrothorn is a great hazards setter as it has a favourable matchup versus the most common hazard remover in Sylveon. Spikes can be used instead if Ferrothorn is already paired with a Stealth Rock setter. Anchor Shot is a STAB option can trap threats like Sylveon and opposing Ferrothorn, enabling it to remove such threats as a result. Grav Apple can be used as an alternative STAB move to target Water-, and Ground-types such as Seismitoad, Rotom-W, and Hippowdon, while also having the added benefit of reducing the opponents Defense after every use. Strength Sap is a great means of recovery that can enable Ferrothorn to weaken physical attackers while simultaneously sustaining itself. Chople Berry can be used as a means of dealing with threats who tend to run Fighting-type coverage for Ferrothorn, mainly being Zeraora, Obstagoon, and Aegislash.
Ferrothorn pairs well with other defensive pivots that can cover its weaknesses to Fire-, and Fighting-type attacks. Therefore partners such as Toxapex, Rotom-H, Centiskorch, and Sylveon all make great teammates, where Toxapex is a notable mention as not only does it resist both Fire- and Fighting-type moves, but also can provide Ferrothorn with Toxic Spikes support and act as secondary check to dangerous wallbreakers such as Sylveon, Kyurem, and Aegislash. Wallbreakers that can take advantage of the entry hazard support that Ferrothorn provides like Gengar, Zeraora, and Obstagoon are also good partners, abusing the extra chip that Ferrothorn's hazards apply in order to achieve certain 2HKOes that they may not otherwise be able to obtain.
