Fighters of the Mellenium (Peaked #97)

Intro

This is one of my best RMTs and is about to get to about #90 on the ladder and I only made this yesterday and its working surprisingly well. This team is built around Garchomp, the second best scarfer in OU, and it is the ultimate the counter to Kyurem-B in OU and Kyurem-W in Ubers. Kyurem-B with Max Speed can't outspeed garchomp nuetral because of scarf. Kyurem-B also usually runs Life Orb or Band which is better. The dragon beast escaped the Ubers and went to OU city.

Fighters of the Mellenium

Once A Upon A Time (Wait is this a fairy tale?), Gabite was playing in the refrigerator and fainted. He had a concussion and was in the hospital for 4 months. Six years later, he is 17 year-old garchomp and with his buddy Skarmory they are the most awesome core and have won Pokemon Championships 1 + 2 and the Halloween Bowl and are top fighters until one day... Starmie! Starmie had both Ice Beam and Thunderbolt easily taking and crushing the unbeatable core, but Garchomp finds a Choice Scarf! Garchomp got so angry it learned a new move, Outrage! It used it and went berserk and with the combo of Whirlwind and Outrage they crushed Starmie with the fury of a thousand year-old OHKOing Starmie. Victini watches this from the shadows. Garchomp and Skarmory are impressed with Starmie and become friends.

In the New Year Dish Competition, Starmie, Garchomp, and Skarmory make it to the finals where they fight the Genesect, Victini, and Rotom-W trio. The two teams fight hardly but Team Landshark can't win. Genesect uses Rock Polish to let its Ice Beams go close range and Rotom-W use Will-O-Wisp to cripple Garchomp. Skarmory is being hit by the the wrath of V-Create and is wasting PP on Roost. Team Steel Pearcers use their combo move, Elemental Trio, a combo of Hydro Pump vibrating with infrasonic vibrations from Genesect's Bug Buzz and being Electrified and boiled by Victini. The attack hits sending them all to the hospital. Team Landshark was impressed and asked them to join the team.

However, their was a problem. There must be a leader for the other five for the Pokemon World Tournament XV so they get in a battle. Garchomp manages to use Outrage and crushes them all. Garchomp is the leader and name their team "Fighters of the Mellenium". Now, they clash head on against Team Hail Crashers who have the mighty Kyurem-B. Abamosnow uses Ice Punch to try hit Starmie but he quickly dodges with that amazing speed and uses Scald. Espeon redirects Garchomp's Fire Blast at Genesect leaving him with 6.89% HP. The hail caused damage making him faint. This was a tough fight. Espeon is OHKOed by Skarmory's Brave Bird because it hits him in the nose.

After tough fights it was Kyurem-B who was healthy and 34% HP Garchomp. the team prayed for Garchomp and he got the blazing aura of his friends and learned Stone Edge which hurt Kyurem-B. Kyurem-B's tail flashed, he was going to use Outrage. Even before the actual attck started the trees around him were falling. Garchomp new their was only one hope and to use the combination of all his friend's moves to win. Garchomp understood his friend's feeling and he surpassed his 4 move slot and gained 24. The combination was named Ultimate Burning Inferno! And it blew through the world and clashed with Kyurem-B's Outrage. Kyurem-B still had the advantage but Garchomp then pushes him back! Kyurem-B is knocked into the OU world. The crisis was so drastic it caused Global Warming and Climate change in Yellowknife, NorthWest Territories where the battle began.

The Pokemon Heatmor Squad arrested Garchomp for being to powerful and was sent to Ubers. Now Garchomp is 30 years-old, he now wants to kill the ones who made him suffer the pain of fighting the God Arceus and prayed to be in OU. Arceus said yes and let a suspect test begin in OU and there it was. He came back with his friends and family!

When Garchomp came back, they found Starmie and Victini turned 65 and were seniors quitting on battling and replaced by Jellicent and Latias. Garchomp welcome to the team and were providing awesome defensive force to the team. The Uber Kyurem-W says bye and is happy his counter is elimanated. Garchomp is happy he is back to destroy OU. Latias challenges Garchomp to a battle but is destroyed by Ultimate Burning Inferno. Jellicent fights him but also is crushed by the move. They are impressed and let him be their leader.

Team Building Process

I wanted to start with Garchomp to elimanate everything there in OU because it kills everything with STAB Earthquake and late-game sweeps with that STAB Outrage. It also uses its special movepool for surprise factor.

Spr_5b2_445_m.png

Now, I need something that could take care of Garchomp's weakness and abuse that oppurtunity to set-up hazards and cause status. Skarmory had stealth rock, phaze sweepers with ease and provide toxic support.

Spr_5b2_445_m.png
Spr_5b_227.png

Rapid Spin Support was an absolute need and same with Entry Hazards so the first pokemon that came in mind was starmie. This thing goes up to people andit says, "Can you take me on your journey". Many reject but he is amazing.

Now I need a special and physical sweeper. Victini is a very good physical sweeper especially with rapid spin support and has amazing synergy with Garchomp. Trick Room catches almost everything off-gaurd. For special sweeping, Genesect laughs in everythings face. Rock Polish, Life Orb, and Download is a sweep.

Finally, I needed a pokemon that could trick stuff to walls and make it a lot easier to win. Rotom-W

Well, Starmie was lame and Victini had crappy team support so these two were used instead. You'll see their point in the description.

The True Perspective

garchomp_v_3_by_xous54-d36qdhp.png

Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Nature: Naughty
- Outrage
- Fire Blast
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Garchomp was just released out of Ubers coming to wreck apart OU. Its earthquakes kill everything super effective like Jolteon, and its amazing coverage check stuff like Tornadus-T killing it with Stone Edge. It can then later sweep with STAB Outrage. Garchomp is one of the very few checks to Kyurem-B which is awesome. Fire Blast demolishes Forretress which thinks it can take a fire fang and then rapid spin but it will it its horrible pitiful SpD which is a problem especially when Sturdy is gone. Fire Blast takes down stuff and backfires on sun teams. Rough Skin has to be used but its useful especially against bullet punch scizor as the added damage could be needed for the OHKO. Genesect is ruined when running Modest because Garchomp is much faster.

Skarmory__Normal_Coloration_by_Xous54.png

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Nature: Impish
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Spikes
- Roost

Skarmory has amazing synergy with garchomp, actually the best. It can reel in its counters and then set-up on them, phaze them then next time they come in, they'll be KOed. Brave Bird hits hard even without investment. Roost provides reliable healing and giving skarmory a resistant to Ice-Type moves. 4 Speed is useful at some times getting me a layer of spikes to add before he is taken down. The problem is that skarmory is complete taunt bait. I will be forced to switch. Magnezone is a problem because if HP Fire OHKOes me before I phaze it than I'll have to estimate and try to get more spikes instead. Brave Bird lets me kill Breloom which is amazing because it can sweep through this whole team without skarmory. Rocky Helmet punishes U-Turners such as Landorus-T and Scizor and Outragers who think they can kill Skarmory. Here is how awesome SkarmChomp Combo is:
-Skarmory Weaknesses: Electric and Fire, Resist: Dragon, Ice after Roost
-Garchomp: Immunity to Electric, x4 resist Fire, Weakness: Dragon, Ice

779-1.png

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Trait: Levitate
- Trick
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp

Bulky Scarf is never seen but the main purpose is to only trick it way. This thing can burn everything, hurt stuff with STAB Hydro Pump, and scout well with Volt Switch. This thing is amazing and lets my sweepers get in without taking any damage. Scarf on Ferrothorn, Forretress, Bronzong, Blissey, Chansey, or Heatran is trouble because they lose all their walling capablities and are more predictable. It also means it will force switches alot. I like using him but the main problem is that he has a bad defense but it doesn't matter because i have Skarmory. He also has great synergy with Genesect.

latias.gif

Latias @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spd
Nature: Timid
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf
- Recover

Victini has added an extra stealth rock support so after a suggestion, Latias was a great edition to the team. It allowed me to rip holes in the opponent's team like a boss and added great synergy with Jellicent. Draco Meteor was the ultimate killer letting me kill the opponent's pokemon easily like Choice Band Terrakion without sand support and Toxicroak which this team fails too. Surf is a great counter to rain teams and Recover made sure I could stay into the game longer. Psyshock is amazing letting me 2HKO Blissey after Spikes and killed many weak pokemon to it like Breloom who I could OHKO before it spores me. Life Orb was awesome especially with Recover so its like free 30% boost. 130 SpD can't be denied and lets me check rain teams especially with Surf.

300px-485Heatran.png

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 16 SpD
Nature: Modest
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock

Heatran is the amazing at its job. Hidden Power Ice is for getting Dragons to the ground like Salamence and, and being an excellent check to sun teams. Stealth Rock is vital to stop pokemon like Volcarona. He also takes in Skarmory and Genesect's Weaknesses too. He providses one of the best support options with max SpA to elimanate counters. Stealth Rock + Spikes is nothing but trouble to anything.

190px-649Genesect.png

Genesect @ Life Orb
Ability: Download
EVs: 60 HP / 60 Def / 252 SpA / 136 Spd
Nature: Modest
- Bug Buzz
- Rock Polish
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam

Genesect's rock polish set is deadly. Come in on outraging dragon, use good defnses to survive, rock polish, then sweep. The defenses let it survive priority much better and bullet punch and ice shard are resisted so its much easier to sweep. Download gives it a 1.5 SpA boost if you predict better and the LO boost will make him a special powerhouse. Thunderbolt is used instead of flamethrower because this team is currently weatherless. He is great with garchomp, starmie, and Rotom-W. Victini also resists fire-type moves too making him a top-notch sweeper on this team.

Threat List

Thundurus-T: With scarf, he'll sweep the whole team if Garchomp is gone.
Vaporeon: Though he's less common, he is a big threat passing wishes easily all the time.
Politoed: Sends out rain, a big threat to this team
Virizion: Even though he fell to UU, he sweeps this whole team after a swords dance if skarmory is gone. Starmie fails to kill it with Ice Beam and Garchomp's Fire Blast cant make it through healthy ones because of their SpD

Closing Words

Thank you for taking your time reading this and your rate. I'm open to weather suggestions. The following would work best on this team, Sand Offense 1+2, and Sun Offense. I will try out all suggestions and there will be frequent changes in the RMT so your rating won't be crap (I used that word to much), so see ya later and god may bless you!

Interesting team man!

So I can see that you listed being and I want to try and help tailor your team to deal with them. The first thing I suggest is replacing Starmie with Gastrodon. The set I suggest is:

423.png

Gastrodon @ Leftovers
Trait: Storm Drain
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Def / 64 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Recover

Your team really isn't weak to entry hazards, for the most part, specifically you don't have any Stealth Rock weak Pokemon so a Rapid Spinner isn't needed. Gastrodon helps you against Thundurus-T and Politoed, while being a terrific check to a lot of common Rain team threats. It's Storm Drain ability and Ground-typing allow it to sponge all Water-type and Electric-type attacks. Ice Beam hits Thundurus-T for Super Effective damage while Earthquake allows you to control SubCM Jirachi.

Now this change does however make you even more weak to Pokemon such as Keldeo, and notably Virizion. Because of this I would like to suggest replacing Victini with Latias. The set I recommend is:

380.png

Latias @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Draco Meteor
-Surf
-Psyshock
-Roost

Latias makes a wonderful addition to your team, taking out a lot of key threats such as the aforementioned Fighters. It also gives you another top notch Drizzle check as Latias can take many common Water-type attacks and retaliate with strong Life Orb boosted hits. Victini really wasn't bringing anything to the team besides a Stealth Rock weakness and was actually hindering the team by setting up Trick Room, which your sweepers like Genesect hate.

Good Luck!

Thanks dude for the rate! I really find Gastrodon underated because then I have two pokemon weak to grass, both which are easily walled by Ferrothorn and killed by STAB Power Whip. However, thanks for the idea! As most people think, spikes is underated so I will switch your Gastrodon suggestion to a Specially Defensive Jellicent. Jellicent is a great check to rain teams, and usually I have great luck countering Thundurus-T with Garchomp using Stone Edge. Jellicent isn't only a great check to Politoed but can run HP Grass for surprise factor. He is also a great spinblocker especially when spikes is underated. Well thanks any way. Latias gives me some problems still especially when it can't do anything but deal damage. I would rather use the your set instead of Victini anyway because it adds more bulk and a chance to force switches because experienced players aren't stupid to stay in. Thanks dude! You gave me ideas for the team and it was great teaching me the basic to countering rain teams!

Hey dude! This is going to be a pretty lame rate at least for now because I'm tired, but I'll try to find something to tweak.

The only thing I can see with my lazy eyes as of now is your lack of a Stealth Rocker. In this meta game, Stealth Rock is the #1 move that you must have on your team, especially if your team is more offensive based. Stealth Rocks helps deal with Sun teams and keeps Choice Scarfers such as Salamence from being able to switch in an out effectively. It also completely ruins Volcarona, which will help since it has decent bulk after a Quiver Dance. Lastly with the introduction of Kyurem-B who's a bulky powerhouse, Stealth Rocks really helps wear the giant down. Since you already have a team member who can learn Stealth Rocks, that leaves it quite easy to fix this problem. Skarmory is one hell of a Stealth Rocker because of it's massive defense and typing. That's why I recommend replacing Spikes with Stealth Rock. Stealth Rock requires one turn of set up, while Spikes needs at least two to even be considered effective, and Stealth Rocks is much more beneficial because nothing is immune to it.

Hope this little rate helps, and I might come back tomorrow to finish the rate. Good luck!

If you're looking for the suprise factor, go for Energyball over HP(Grass) on Jellicent. It adds on the effect of lowering your opponent's Sp.Defense.

Good luck with the team!

First of all that has to be the most unusual and cool story i have ever seen in an rmt lol. However you forgot to mention the bit where sand viel got banned as well as ultimate burning inferno getting banned to what a shame! looking at your team i see a bit of a weakness to Genesun teams. Although you have Latias who is a great check to a lot of sun threats Genesect can use its boosted U-turn to deal massive damage and with no weather effect of your own Venasaurs will have +2 speed and will be fast enough to put Latias to sleep. Your team lacking Stealth Rock is also a big problem since it is the most important move in the game to halve Volcaronas health and break Dragonites Multiscale. Both these pokemon ironically are commonly found on sun teams thus compunding your weakness against sun.

To help give your team a great check to sun as well as give your team a reliable user of Stealth Rock i suggest Heatran>Rotom-W Heatran can use its useful resistances and Flash Fire to help it against sun teams. With Shed Shell Heatran can't be trapped by Dugtrio either making it a reliable sun check. With Fire Blast / Earthpower / Hidden Power [Ice] Heatran can hit a lot of commonly found pokemon on sun teams like the chlorohly sweepers, Dragon-types, Ninetales, apposing Heatran, Forretress, Donphan and although i don't advise staying in on it Dugtrio. Heatrans last move is the very important Stealth Rock which i have already stressed about how important it is halving Volcaronas health and breaking Dragonite Multiscale. You honestly don't need Rotom-W to much because between Latias and Jellicent you have rain teams checked quite nicely and you also already have a Choice Scarf user in Garchomp. Also Garchomp is a much better Choice Scarf user having better speed and more power.

Regarding your Jellicent i suggest Will-o-Wisp>Toxic with this change implemented Jellicent has a much easier time walling physical threats. It also gives Genesect more set up oppurtunites letting Genesect set up easier on physical attackers. Also Hidden Power [Grass] doesnt make much sense on Jellicent because he is already a good check to rain teams and Latias helps you with rain as well making it not much of a threat. Shadow Ball>Hidden Power [Grass] is the prefered option. With hazards from Heatran and Skarmory you would want extra ensurance that Starmie can't Rapid Spin on you and although Hidden Power[Grass] hits Starmie super effectively Shadow Ball hits it harder.

@Gary2346 Thanks for the rate, short or small! Superpowerdude gave me a better suggestion of using heatran, it also has stealth rock and better support than Rotom-W + Skarmory's spikes are super vital to the team for Garchomp to sweep with earthquake

@CedOmega thanks for the rate, it has much better power and better power and effect, HP=dumb

@Superpowerdude OMG, thanks sooooo much! I will use heatran, so wait till I post it and I love your Jellicent suggestion but after recent test, Tentacruel was much better because spinblocking pretty useless where Garchomp can OHKO Forretress with Fire Blast and Spikes is used last ditch against set-up bait. I will use your Heatran suggestion.

This team is simply amazing altho i preffer mence ovr chomp i mean mence is a overall beast and i love using it teams amazing but i replaced chomp wit mence love it
