Hey guys! I took a considerable break from competitive battling between the 5th and 6th generation, I remember the early beta of XY's OU. I have now noticed that the metagame is in the process of settling and I'm happy to conclude that it's a more varied and balanced meta than in 5th gen. At first I tried my luck with my team from BW unchanged - I had considerable success with it (~1850 tops) despite it not using almost any mainstream Overused pokemon (Alakazam, Latias, Porygon2, Mamoswine, Dragonite, Volcarona). Every single of these Pokemon could hold its own and seriously damage entire teams back in the day, so you can only imagine my disappointment when the sixth generation came and the team started getting whupped left and right. So I decided to get a little up to date with my Pokemon and experimented a lot, first switching out one or two of them for others, then more. Overall I hit modest success (1500) but then after more experiments, I declined to 1250. But with the shape of my team as of today, I rebounded to 1400 with an almost unbroken winning streak today. So here's what it looks like now:

Assholenite (Dragonite) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd/4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Extreme Speed
I've had Dragonite for a long, long time, as it has always been one of my favorite Pokemon. This thing is just reliable in almost every way. But I had found myself unable to tap into its full potential and make sweeps, mostly due to the fact that I had no hazard removal in the team, which hindered its Multiscale. Also, I had yet to discover the fantastic item of Weakness Policy. It and two Dragon Dances and at least three Pokemon are guaranteed to go down, 'nuff said.

Pwncarona (Volcarona) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Spd / 252 Def
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Quiver Dance
- Roost
This has still to be my single most loved Pokemon. All the matches it won me single-handedly, all those 5-1 situations it successfully reversed... Volcarona acts as a special wall, tank and a late-game cleaner, although I've found that it can be switched to good effect at any point in the game (of course bar the times when Stone Edge users are still in). Thanks to Quiver Dance, Volcarona doesn't fear water at all and even fares decently against Rotom-W. It also takes only around 33% of its HP from Earthquakes from utility Garchomp, letting it set up and destroy it with Bug Buzz. The only Pokemon it fears are Stone Edge users. Its defense-focused EV spread also surprises other users who use all-out attacking Volcaronas instead, which are unfortunately too soft on the physical side. After two Quiver Dances, mine can steamroll almost everything anyway. I've found Stealth not to be a problem either, since I can just Roost to heal the damage in one turn - tricky if the opponent is faster, but strangely enough it doesn't really happen all that often. All in all, I'm never getting rid of this thing.

Su Lang Manchu (Excadrill) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Spd / 4 Def / 252 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
After hours of searching and thinking, I think I finally found what I needed with this little critter. It's so good that instead of spinning right away, I actually attack people with it, and they still die, 'nuff said. The only thing I'm wondering about is to leave Air Balloon on it or to give it something else - Earthquake wasn't attempted on it all that many times in fact.

Doctor Death (Mamoswine) (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Jolly Nature
- Ice Shard
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Endeavor
Mamo was very effective last gen in terms of OHKOing stuff with his Earthquake and executing the FEAR strategy with Endeavor + Ice Shard. I put Stone Edge on it only recently, since its role is no longer Stealth Rocking. But it could perhaps be swapped out for Superpower. Not sure. Also, even though I like this Pokemon as lot, it seems to really have gotten the short end of the stick defense-wise this gen. Almost everyone has moves that are super-effective against Ice, that's why I'm open to switching this one out for a better option.

Wang (Mew) @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Spd / 148 Def
Bold Nature
- Taunt
- Will-O-Wisp
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
I found this setup quite nifty, as I was thinking of having an utility Pokemon too. I used a defensive spread to make it last, since it has no recovery due to the moveset. Taunt stops stall, entry hazards, Trick and other nasty stuff, Will-O-Wisp is for disabling physical attackers and Ice Beam is an anti-Dragon measure. Please let me know if there's a better alternative to this setup.

Percival (Aegislash) (M) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Def / 4 Spd / 124 SAtk / 124 Atk
Quiet Nature
IVs: 30 Def / 30 SAtk / 30 SDef / 30 Spd
- King's Shield
- Shadow Sneak
- Shadow Ball
- Sacred Sword
Last but not least -this thing is simply amazing when used correctly. This is what happens, when it is:

Sweeping, disabling opponents, breaking walls, breaking setup sweepers, Aegislash can do it all. Weakness Policy has quite a good chance at activating when it's in its Shield Forme when taking an attack, and after that it can wreak havoc. No setup moves on this set, since all of the moves get used quite frequently. When I discovered Aegislash, my success rate skyrocketed for a while and right now when the team has spinning support in the form of Excadrill everyone has better synergies, Aegislash included.
So, I understand this team wasn't really made on a concept - just an assemblage of Pokemon that I've noticed stand out individually. Getting utility in the form of Mew and Excadrill overall, things have improved for me recently. Still, I await a rate and advice as to what to improve! Thanks in advance, guys.
