[OVERVIEW]

Darmanitan is a great wallbreaker and revenge killer on sun teams, with its sun-boosted Flare Blitz being extremely difficult to switch into. Under sun, even the sturdiest of Water-types like Slowking and RestTalk Primarina cannot switch in without risking a 2HKO. Its coverage moves also hit most Fire-resistant Pokemon for good damage, with Rock Slide hitting Moltres and Rotom-H, while Earthquake OHKOes Nihilego and lets Darmanitan revenge kill Tentacruel. Both coverage moves also don't have recoil damage. Darmanitan can be difficult to revenge kill, as it resists Scizor's Bullet Punch and many faster threats are unable to switch in safely. However, its poor bulk and Stealth Rock weakness severely limit its entry points, and it is still forced out by Lycanroc-D and Choice Scarf Hydreigon once they are in. Flare Blitz, its main STAB attack, has substantial recoil damage that racks up over time, which reduces Darmanitan's overall longevity. It also struggles to break past Fire-resistant Pokemon with recovery if it lacks sun support, like Primarina and Salamence. Darmanitan faces competition as a Choice Scarf user with Diggersby, which has better longevity due to its Stealth Rock resistance and lack of recoil damage.

With a Sheer Force boost and STAB, Flare Blitz hits most Pokemon very hard, OHKOing threats such as Scizor, Azelf, Amoonguss, and Celesteela. U-turn allows Darmanitan to take advantage of the switches it forces and pivot out on Pokemon that aren't 2HKOed by Flare Blitz, like Primarina and Slowking. Rock Slide hits Flying-types such as Salamence and Moltres, and Earthquake OHKOes Nihilego while also hitting Cobalion, Zygarde-10%, and Excadrill without incurring recoil. Choice Scarf ensures that Darmanitan can outspeed Pokemon such as Azelf, Zygarde-10%, and Crobat.

Darmanitan best fits on sun teams, which appreciate its revenge killing while strengthening its nuclear Flare Blitz. Torkoal is the cornerstone of sun teams, providing Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin, and sun. Venusaur sets up on foes that threaten Darmanitan, such as Keldeo and Primarina lacking Psychic. In exchange, Darmanitan can break through Celesteela and trade with Noivern, as well as pivoting out of bad matchups like Primarina and Keldeo to give Venusaur setup opportunities. Defensive Celesteela checks Hydreigon and Excadrill, while Darmanitan breaks through Celesteela checks like Chansey. Hatterene checks Dragon-types such as Salamence and Hydreigon, provides Magic Bounce support, and can heal Darmanitan's chip damage from Stealth Rock with Healing Wish. Swampert and Chansey are great pivots that can bring in Darmanitan safely against Excadrill and Krookodile, with Swampert checking Rotom-W and Chansey checking Hydreigon. Skarmory can provide Spikes support, which is valuable in providing chip damage for Darmanitan. It also handles many physical attackers that threaten Darmanitan, such as Diggersby and Hippowdon, well.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Trick is an option to debilitate defensive Pokemon such as Hippowdon, Chansey, and Primarina. However, it sacrifices the Speed boost from Choice Scarf, so it should only be used when Choice Scarf is no longer necessary, and has to replace a coverage move. Choice Band can further increase Darmanitan's power, but it becomes more vulnerable to revenge killers like Nihilego and Cobalion, and the additional power is mostly unnecessary. Heavy-Duty Boots grants Darmanitan more longevity, letting it fit on different team archetypes, but the loss of Speed prevents it from fulfilling an offensive pivot role that well compared to other options like Azelf.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Chip Damage**: Due to not commonly running Heavy-Duty Boots, Darmanitan takes substantial entry hazard damage upon switching in. With that and Flare Blitz recoil, Darmanitan gets worn down very quickly. Hippowdon's summoned sand also wears down Darmanitan and removes sun.

**Dragon-types**: Dragon-types such as Salamence, Hydreigon, and Zygarde-10% all present problems for Darmanitan. Defensive Salamence is the best counter available, resisting Flare Blitz and also lowering Darmanitan's Attack with Intimidate. Salamence can also use Roost to heal any damage that Darmanitan inflicts. Choice Scarf Hydreigon revenge kills Darmanitan and Zygarde-10% can revenge kill with Extreme Speed, and it can potentially predict Darmanitan switching out to wallbreak.

**Water-types**: Water-types such as Primarina, Slowking, Swampert, and Rotom-W are solid checks that can tank a hit and heavily damage Darmanitan with their STAB moves. However, if sun is active, they might struggle to switch in on Flare Blitz. Keldeo acts as an offensive check, but it doesn't like to directly switch in, and Azumarill can revenge kill Darmanitan with Aqua Jet.

Paragraph 2
-try to make the writing stronger; something like "Darmanitan best fits at home on sun teams that appreciate its revenge killing capabilities while enabling its nuclear Flare Blitz." You can then talk about how Torkaol sets up stealth rock and removes entry hazards while Venusaur picks off Water- and Ground-types that Darmanitan lure in. You get the idea; I don't want to write out the whole thing
-Because Darmanitan only fits on sun teams, Torkoal and Venusaur are necessary partners.

these seem pretty bad I wouldn't run these, cut them

-Trick is an option to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Hippowdon, Chansey, and Primarina. However, it loses the speed boost from Choice Scarf, and loses out on one of its coverage moves, so it should only be used when Choice Scarf is no longer necessary.
-Choice Band can increase Darmanitan's power further but makes it more vulnerable to getting revenge killed by threats like Nihilego and Cobalion.
-Heavy Duty Boots may be an option to mitigate Darmanitan's entry hazard weakness, but the lack of Choice Scarf hurts it a lot. it's less about this, this should be worded how boots lets it attempt to fit on more bulky offense and Voltturn teams but its main move killing itself and middling speed and lack of defensive utility means this option isn't really worth it

**Chip Damage**: Due to not running Heavy-Duty Boots, Darmanitan takes substantial entry hazard damage upon switching in. With Hazard Damage and Flare Blitz recoil, Darmanitan gets worn down really fast.

I want these sections changed to reflect a more cleaner and better grouping of Darmanitan's checks and counters. See below

**Dragon-types**: Here defensive salamence, hydreigon, and zygarde-10% should be brought up. Say how the former is the best counter available, resisting Flare Blitz and hindering it with intimidate, while the latter two revenge kill it by either being faster than it (scarf hydra) or with priority (zydog)

**Water-types**: Slowking, Primarina, and Rotom-W should be brought up as solid checks that can tank a hit and heavily damage it with scald, but note they get 2HKOed if they switch in while sun is up and can't KO it back due to water-type moves being weakened. Mention Keldeo as an offensive check and azumarill as a revenge killer with Aqua Jet.

**Ground-types**: Bring up Hippo's ability to tank a hit, remove sun with sand, and force it out with eq, but acknowledge it can't reliably switch in. Bring up swampert and rhyperior as other ground-types that can take a hit and KO it back with earthquake

[OVERVIEW]

Darmanitan is a great wallbreaker and revenge killer on sun teams with its sun-boosted Flare Blitz being extremely difficult to switch into for the majority of the tier. Under sun, the sturdiest of Water-type resists like Slowking and RestTalk Primarina cannot switch even in without risking a 2HKO. Even Pokemon that resist its attacks such as Keldeo and Nihilego get 2HKOed. Superfluous, doesn't need to be stated that frailer resists also die. Its coverage also enables it to hit the majority of the tier's Fire resists for good damage, with Rock Slide dealing with Moltres and Rotom-H and Earthquake to OHKO Nihilego and revenge kill Tentacruel. Keldeo and Zygarde-10% without having to take recoil. Resisted Flare Blitz is already stronger than neutral coverage moves for Darmanitan. Even with the factor of recoil, in the main body coverage moves should only be suggested for super effective targets that resist Flare Blitz, you can add a line in strategy about using non recoil moves for low hp targets. Darmanitan can be difficult to revenge kill as it resists Scizor's Bullet Punch and many faster threats are unable to switch in safely, but its poor bulk and Stealth Rock weakness severely limit its entry points into a game and it still can be forced out by Lycanroc-D's priority and Choice Scarf Hydreigon once they are in. However, its poor bulk and Stealth Rock weakness make it highly vulnerable to getting revenge killed by other priority moves such as Lycanroc-D's Accelerock and other Choice Scarf users such as Hydreigon. This was phrased quite weirdly with Hydreigon mentioned as both something that is good at and bad at revenge killing it, so changed wording to convey the point better. Flare Blitz, its main STAB attack, has a substantial amount of recoil over time, which makes Darmanitan have awful longevity. It also can struggle with breaking past Pokemon that resist Fire with recovery such as Primarina and Salamence without Sun support. Salamence, and Hippowdon. Analysis Hippo spread is a high chance to be 2hkoed coming into Flare Blitz and doesn't really fit as a counter that should be explicitly mentioned. It faces competition as a Choice Scarf user with Diggersby, which has better longevity due to its Stealth Rock neutrality, and lack of recoil damage.

Paragraph 1
With a Sheer Force boost and STAB, Flare Blitz hits the majority of the tier very hard, enabling Darmanitan to OHKO threats such as Scizor, Amoonguss, Azelf, and Celesteela. It can also revenge kill threats such as Azelf, Raikou, and Starmie with sun up. Majority of all of these died without Sun, don't need to mention sun support in its move descriptions. U-turn is used to pivot around unfavorable matchups where Flare Blitz won't result in a 2HKO, such as Hippowdon, Primarina and Slowking while also taking advantage of the many switches it forces. Rock Slide is used to hit Flying-types such as Salamence and Moltres for super effective damage, and Earthquake OHKOes Nihilego while hitting Cobalion, Zygarde-10% and Excadrill hard without having the recoil of Flare Blitz. Choice Scarf is run to ensure that Darmanitan can outspeed Pokemon such as Azelf, Zygarde-10% and Crobat.

Paragraph 2
Darmanitan best fits on sun teams, who appreciate its revenge-killing capabilities while enabling its nuclear Flare Blitz. Torkoal is the main part of Sun teams, adding Stealth Rock, Rapid Spin support, and the Sun itself. Torkoal provides sun and Stealth Rock support, It also provides Rapid Spin support to clear hazards. Venusaur can set up on opponents that threaten Darmanitan, such as Keldeo and Primarina lacking Psychic. In exchange, Darmanitan can break through Celesteela and can trade with Noivern, as well as pivoting out of bad matchups like Primarina and Keldeo to get Venusaur setup opportunities. Darmanitan can pivot out of these bad matchups with U-turn, and in turn, gives Venusaur more opportunities to threaten the aforementioned Primarina and Keldeo. Defensive Celesteela checks Hydreigon and Excadrill, in turn, while Darmanitan uses Celesteela's answers like Chansey as wall-breaking chances. deals with walls such as Chansey . General cleanup to better describe the game flow of what Darmanitan accomplishes. Hatterene checks Dragon-types such as Salamence and Hydreigon, provides Magic Bounce support, and can heal the chip damage from Stealth Rocks with Healing Wish. Swampert and Chansey act as great pivots that can bring in Darmanitan safely against Excadrill and Krookodile, with Swampert checking Rotom-W and Chansey checking Hydreigon. Skarmory can provide Spikes support, which is valuable in providing chip damage for Darmanitan. ,which is useful in OHKOing Chansey in sun. Only an 18% chance to OHKO with a Spike, be careful when adding KO threshold suggestions that they are correct. It also handles many physical attackers which can threaten Darmanitan, such as Diggersby and Hippowdon well.

Other Options
=============
Trick is an option to cripple defensive Pokemon such as Hippowdon, Chansey, and Primarina. However, it loses the speed boost from Choice Scarf, and one of its coverage moves, so it should only be used when Choice Scarf is no longer necessary. Choice Band can increase Darmanitan's power further but makes it more vulnerable to getting revenge killed by threats like Nihilego and Cobalion, and the additional power is mostly unnecessary. Heavy-Duty Boots grants Darmanitan more longevity to try and fit on different team archetypes, but the loss of speed prevents it from fulfilling this role that well compared to other offensive pivot options like Azelf. Heavy-Duty Boots attempts to make Darmanitan fit on bulky offense and VoltTurn teams but with its main move killing itself and also having middling speed makes this option suboptimal. Good job with this section, only slight additions / wording changes.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Chip Damage**: Due to not commonly running Heavy-Duty Boots, Darmanitan takes substantial entry hazard damage upon switching in. With Hazard Damage and Flare Blitz recoil, Darmanitan gets worn down really fast. Hippowdon's Sand Stream is another source of chip damage tat also can remove the Sun which enables Darmanitan.

Hydreigon revenge kills Darmanitan with a Choice Scarf and Zygarde-10% can revenge kill with Extreme Speed, as well as use Darmanitan switching out to wall-break.

**Water-types**: Water-Types such as Primarina, Slowking, Swampert, and Rotom-W are solid checks that can tank a hit and heavily damage Darmanitan with their STAB moves. Scald or Hydro Pump in the case of Rotom-W. However, if Sun is active they might struggle coming into Flare Blitz. they get 2HKOed if they switch in while the sun is up and are unable to KO it back due to water moves being weaker under the effects of sun. Still depends on their sets so best to just say they may struggle with checking it in Sun. Keldeo acts as an offensive check that doesn't like to directly switch in, with Hydro Pump and Azumarill can act as a revenge killer with Aqua Jet.

**Ground-Types**: Hippowdon can tank a hit from Darmanitan, remove sun with sand, and can force Darmanitan out with Earthquake. However, it is unable to reliably switch in. Swampert and Rhyperior are other Ground-types that can take a hit from Darmanitan and KO it with Earthquake. Remove this section, Hippowdon can't switch into Flare Blitz well at all and Rhyperior is barely existent as a Pokemon in the meta. Hippo will now be mentioned in the Chip damage section and Swampert will be moved to Water-types.
