Hello everyone, I have been out of the competitive Pokemon Battling Scene since Mid Gen4, and I recently came back with this team.
Deoxys-Speed @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SAtk / 24 Spd
Modest Nature
- Psycho Boost
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
Deoxys is my lead. The main goal of Deoxys on my team is to set up the rocks. Psycho Boost leaves a dent in the opponent's lead, Toxic messes up the Pokes that resist Psycho Boost, and Taunt messes up the opponent's obvious Stealth Rock, Galvantula and other obscure leads. The EVs are spread in this way because Deoxys S outspeeds everything except for Mega Alakazam/Aerodactyl, other Deoxys and Ninjask without much investment in speed. In testing, I found out with the HP Evs, I either get OHKO'd and saved by sash, or 3hit KO'd.
Genesect @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Download
EVs: 72 Atk / 252 SAtk / 184 Spd
Naive Nature
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt
Genesect is used as a revenge killer/late game sweeper, and works well with Heatran because it lures in Fire Moves. EV Spread is to get the most out of the choice scarf, and the extra EVs go into attack to make U-Turn hit hard.
Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature
- Shadow Sneak
- Sacred Sword
- King's Shield
- Swords Dance
This Pokemon is amazing. Against a bad player, it can literally 6-0 their whole team, and against good players, I can usually net 2 kills and a weakened Pokemon. EVs are to maximize durability, and to ensure I can easily get off some Swords Dances before I sweep with this guy. Aegislash also makes a great revenge killer.
Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 24 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 228 Spd
Timid Nature
- Overheat
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Flash Cannon
Because of all the steel types on my team, I have a huge fire weakness, that Heatran counters nicely. Scarf set is used here to outrun Pokemon that would usually kill Heatran, such as Mega Lucario, and it also makes Heatran a very nice revenge killer.
Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 Def
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- Swords Dance
Mega Scizor helps out a lot with it's natural bulk, and late game sweeping Potential. After a swords dance, nothing wants to come face to face with this Pokemon. It breaks walls with Knock Off, counters Fairys, and acts as a strong sweeper throughout the whole game.
Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
Moxiemence is another amazing Pokemon. You can switch it in to something that doesn't hurt it, set up a Dragon Dance, and easily take out the opponents Pokemon. Outrage hits extremely hard on Pokemon that don't resist it, and after an attack boost, even Pokemon that resist Outrage will tremble in fear. Earthquake is a good, generic coverage move that hits even harder then outrage at times, and Fire Blast is used here so Salamence has no problem taking out Skarmory/Ferrothorn/Forretress.
Things that I notice stop my team and I have some issues with taking out are Prankster Priority users, Gliscor, and Rotom-W. I'm open to suggestions for my team, and considering this is my first competitive Pokemon team in 5 years, I think I'll need them!
