First attempt at a team since I restarted playing (OU)

Started playing again for the first time in a few months, and trying to catch up to how the metagame is now.

Magnezone @ Lum Berry
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 60 HP/196 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Magnet Rise
- Substitute
---
Traps Bronzong leads and sets up, Lum Berry allows it to take status effects from the likes of Gengar, and 225 Speed allows it to outspeed standard Bulkydos.

Weavile (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Aerial Ace
- Brick Break
- Ice Shard
---
Pretty standard revenge killer, typing allows it to switch in on ice beams and shadow balls directed at chomp, Celebi, or Starmie.

251.png

Celebi @ Leftovers / Tanga Berry
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Recover
- Leech Seed
- Grass Knot
- Reflect
---
Seeder support set. Reflect helps soften the blows from physical sweepers. Grass Knot to deal heavy damage from bulky waters, TTar, Garchomp.

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 148 HP/176 Def/184 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Stone Edge
---

Bulkydos using Raikoulovers "efficient" spread. Taunt and DD to stop opposing pokemon from using status or setting up while setting up itself. Waterfall for STAB and Stone Edge for coverage against dragons or opposing Gyarados. 184EVs in Speed allow it to outspeed base 115s after 1 DD.

121.png

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 160 HP/216 Spd/132 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Recover
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
---
Bulkywater. Helps take on dragons and garchomps, and is the 2nd of two ice attackers to take down SDYache Garchomp. Surf Thunderbolt and Icebeam for the best coverage, with Recover to help it take repeated hits.

Garchomp (M) @ Yache Berry
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Fang
---

Back in early D/P I considered Yache/SD to be the best set for Garchomp to use. I'm not sure if I'm happy or not to see if become so widespread. Pretty standard setup now for late game sweeping. Jolly and max speed to outspeed all base 100s and make sure I at least have that 50/50 chance of beating out other Garchomp in speed.

Scizor could be a problem here. The only two that survive a Scizor are Gyarados and Garchomp. A viable option here would be Choice Scarf Heatran. While he cant switch in on Brick Break from Scizor, he certainly is a counter for that. With the Standard Flamethrower/ Earth Power/ Explosion/ HP Ice, you have a way to kill Dragons still and gain the advantage of having an easy way to kill opposing Weaviles, who could also do pretty heavy damage to this team.

I might try Heatran, but I'm not a huge fan of scarves, and I'm not sure what I'd drop for it.

Also might try CB and Ice Punch on Weavile to OHKO SDYache Chomp.

Overall the team is very solid, and scizor will never be a problem with Gyarados (taunt) and Maggy around.

That being said Starmie wants Rapid spin for those rocks, which cripple both Weavile and Gyarados. I would probably put it over Thunderbolt, as you already have a reliable Gyarados counter with Celebi.

Sadly, I sense a rather large weakness to Deoxy-s--the mixed orb sweeper kills practically everything on the team without much trouble. The only way to kill it would be to utilize Garchomp's Yache Berry, but that is situational at best. In addition, provided Celebi is in good health, you could slap T-wave on the set to at least cripple it. Overall, prediction will have to be your ally, though scarving Weavile would also help the problem.

Thanks for the comments. Admittedly I haven't really played much since Deoxys-S was allowed in Shoddy ladder, so it's not something I even remembered to consider. I'll try out both T-wave on Celebi and scarf Weavile if it becomes a problem.

The Rapid Spin on Starmie suggestion I'll definitely go with, since I have yet to use Thunderbolt, and SR + Toxic Spikes is starting to become a big pain in the ass.

Wow, there's a big ass Heracross weakness going on here. For this, I suppose the easiest way to change this up is go for the Resting Dragon Dancing Gyarados. It's allowed to switch in on SEs if you predict incorrectly and recover off it's health.

Despite me saying you have a Hera problem, take off the Aerial Ace on Weavile, Scarf Hera is just going to fuck with you anyways. You can always add in Swords Dance there or Ice Punch/Night Slash for more power.

I'll try the gyara change. Still not sure if I should remove AA or not still, since I might switch to scarf Weavile if Deoxys causes an issue.

With weavile, I would replace aerial ace with night slash. Also replace reflect on celebi with thunder wave. You have a huge heracross weakness here and I think it would be smart to reconsider your choice in walls/tanks. Also, rapid spin over recover on starmie is a necessity. I don't have time for a full rate right now, but take what I said into consideration.

You never, ever use Rapid Spin without Recover. I think it's pretty obvious how you have Celebi for Gyarados already, which is a given to remove Thunderbolt for Rapid Spin. Speaking of Gyarados:

Gyarados (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP/8 Atk/184 Def/104 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

That's the EV spread that I personally recommend. You'll obtain maximum Leftovers recovery with them EVs. The Defense hits that "magic number" with a benificial nature, in this case Impish. The Speed outspeeds Tyranitar that aren't wielding a +Spd nature, and after a Dragon Dance you will outspeed maximum Speed Garchomp (non-Choice Scarf). The Attack is insignificant, but had no better uses.

Been trying out Resttalk Gyara and Scarfvile. Having problems with Gyara due to my generally bad luck with getting Rest twice in a row while Sleep Talking.
