XY UU First Attempt at a UU Team

So going through the tiers recently since Im new to to the competitive scene, and UU seemed the most intriguing to me. A lot of my favorite pokemon are in UU and it gives me the opportunity to use these guys and start learning the ropes. So here is my first attempt at making a competitive UU team.

sableye.gif

Sableye @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Taunt

So Ive always wanted to try out a Sableye, because the pokemon really stands out to me. Its prankster ability allows me to get will-o-wisp off, as well as beceme a bulky special wall that can stall most Pokes that stand in front of it. Knock off was an obvious move choice, being a stab move and getting rid of the opponents item, and taunt and recover to stall out any pokemon that want to set up.

alakazam-mega.gif

Alakazam-Mega @ Alakazite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball

This thing is straight power. I love Alakazam, and its mega form wrecks house. I had this thing trained up even before I decided I was having a UU team because I love the thing. It out speeds almost everything in the tier, and its Special stat is huge. Psychic is chosen for STAB, I could use psyshock but its really up to the user, Dazzling gleam is mainly for coverage over Dark types, energy ball was thrown in since I didnt have any other Pokemon with a grass move, and shadow ball for more coverage.

forretress.gif

Forretress @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Volt Switch

I chose Forrestress as a physical wall and lead due to its high defense stat and because of its move pool. It can take most physical hits with ease, allowing to set up its entry hazards. I went with Toxic Spikes because i did't have a toxic user on my team, and stealth rocks. I have rapid spin on it just to get rid of any hazards on the field, since he can take the damage well, and volt switch out once all its hazards are set up.

swampert.gif

Swampert @ Choice Band
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Avalanche
- Superpower

I went with Swampert because of its bulkiness and its high attack stat, and also gives me the electric immunity, and I choose the choice band which allows Swampert to hit extremely hard. A few of my Pokemons are super effective on grass types or can take a lot of the grass type moves, so Swampert seemed like a good choice. Waterfall and EQ are its two hard-hitting STAB moves, and can do a hell of a lot of damage to anything in front of it. Avalanche was a choice so if I could predict a grass type entering, I could get damage off before I switch out, and superpower just for more coverage.

crobat.gif

Crobat @ Black Sludge
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Brave Bird
- Cross Poison
- U-turn
- X-Scissor

Crobat was a pokemon I choose because of its extremely high speed stat and its ability to take hits, doing damage in return. The black Sludge was an obvious item on Crobat, and allows him to take more hits if needed. Brave Bird and Cross Poison are its two STAB moves, and they hit hard, and allows Crobat to take out almost anything withing two turns, which BB hitting almost everything hard, and Cross Poison for Fairy Pokemon. U-turn is great and allows Crobat to get some extra damage of if it needs to switch, and X-Scissor is there if any Psychic types wanna show up.

chandelure.gif

Chandelure @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast
- Memento
- Shadow Ball
- Dark Pulse

Chandelure was chosen as my clean up guy, with a pretty good speed stat that could potentially let it out speed whatever is left on your opponents team and sweep. Flash Fire and its Ghost typing gives you a fire, normal and fighting immunities, making Chandelure a great counter to many UU Pokemon. Fire Blast and Shadow are its STAB moves, and Dark Pulse is there for coverage. Memento is used just incase you have to sack-off something and Chandelure is on low health.

Well thats my first attempt at team building. Let me know below what I can do to improve this team, and improve on team building in general. Thanks guys.

Hello friend, I've got two quick suggestions for ya

First if you mentioned that psychic /psyshock was really up to the user, but with blissey being a thing its really not lol psyshock is better than psychic in practically every scenario, not all of course but most.

Secondly, You said you added dark pulse for coverage but in reality it adds zero coverage for you. Shadow ball hits everything harder and has nearly identical coverage. I recommend you replace it with trick as this let's you severely cripple things like suicune and blissey.

Hope I could help :)

Heya. Just a few suggestions for the team.

Firstly, I'd swap Psychic for Psyshock on Alakazam, seeing as your team does struggle with blissey at the moment. Most of the physical walls that Psychic hits harder are weak to Energy ball anyway (Swampert, Blastoise, Hippowdon etc.).

Secondly, I'd change Forretress' item to either Red Card (for a more offensive variant) or Leftovers for more passive recovery. While Sitrus can be nice, you're not always guaranteed to be knocked into that low HP. Also, Leftovers can bring you back up to sturdy if you've only taken a bit of damage, which is always nice.

Last big change I'd make is to Crobat. The set you have now would maybe work for a Choice banded variant, but with the moves/item you have now, you're missing out on a couple of Crobats strong points.
For the most part, the only attacking moves you ever need are Bravebat/U-turn. While Cross poison can make quick work of fairies like Florges/Aromatissw, for the most part, those two can't do anything to hurt Crobat in return. My recommendation would be to change Cross poison for Roost, to give Crobat more longevity, as well as giving it Taunt/Toxic over X-scissor. With taunt, you'll be able to stop things like Blissey/Umbreon from healing up, as well as guys like Zygarde from Dragon dancing.
Last change on Crobat I'd make is going Infiltrator>Inner focus. While not getting flinched by scarf Jirachi is nice, being able to hit pokes through subs/screens is much more useful.

Anyway, looks like a pretty fun team :]

Hey Kazarri, got a couple suggestions for your team. fuk DMT for ninaing me btw... :[

There's not much I can say that DMT and R0ady didn't, although I would definitely run Leftovers on Forre because the passive recovery is just too good to pass up, and Sitrus Berry only gives you recovery when knocked under 50%, which even then, isn't that useful.

I know Energy Ball has probably worked for you, since it takes care of Pert and Mola who both can be annoying for you, but I'd consider using Calm Mind over it, since you lack a proper win condition, and besides the bulky Water-types and Hippo, you don't really hit much with EBall. Another thing I'd consider is forgoing Dazzling Gleam for Focus Blast, as with Focus Blast, you hit the Dark-types that love to try and switch into your STAB attacks, while also smacking the Steel-types which impede your sweep with Dazzling Gleam. These changes are generally optional if you choose to keep E-Ball, although if you do keep it I would suggest changing your nature to Modest.

The only thing I would consider after that is to give your Sableye a bit more speed, so that you win Taunt wars with opposing Sableye; this usually ranges from 8 all the way to 32-40, but it really depends on your preference.

Hope I helped, just be sure to take in consideration the changes the users above me suggested as well! :]

Thanks for the help guys. Ive taken all these tips into consideration and will be making some changes in my team. As soon as I finalize these changes Ill have an update on the team and hopefully get it into some use. Thanks again
EDIT: I forgot to mention the reason I had the sitrus on Forre was because I only have 1 leftovers
