Yeah, this probably isnt the first thread you've seen with the same name.
Anyways, here's my attempt at stall.
The Lead
Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs:240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpA
Nature: Relaxed
- Superpower
- Earth Power
- Ice Beam
- Stealth Rock
It's the standard Mixpert with some move changes. I picked Superpower to lure in the Blisseys, believing this to be a special Swampert when I start using Earth Power and Ice Beam. Blissey gives most of my team trouble, and the one or two pokemon that don't have trouble with her will always force her to switch. Stealth Rock to set up early entry hazards. Ice beam is for dealing with Mixmences that can deal a lot of damage to my team otherwise. So far it has been a solid lead, but there seems to have been a decline in Blissey usage from what I've seen, and am considering replacing Superpower with something else, possibly surf or waterfall, depending on future battles.
Light Screen support and Toxic user
Milotic @ Leftovers
Ability: Marvel Scale
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Sp Def
Nature: Bold
-Surf
-Light Screen
-Recover
-Toxic
Milotic supports the team with Light Screen, making switching a lot easier for this team. She can toxistall quite nicely and sponge attacks while the poison eats away with recover and her defenses. She doubles as a status absorber (except sleep) if Shaymin or Machamp can't come in or is incapacitated. I picked this over Vaporeon for access to both Recover and Light Screen, for instant healing and overall team support. Latias already wishpasses, and I'm pretty sure this team doesn't require two.
Wish Passer and Cover
Latias @ Leftovers (Where do all of these things COME from?)
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Spe / 4 Sp Atk
Nature: Timid
-Wish
-Roar
-Dragon Pulse
-HP Fire
Latias is a keystone in this team. For pretty much every pokemon on this team, their weaknesses are her resistances. She can come in on many counters to every pokemon on this team and ward them off. I made her fast to make sure I can possibly revenge kill and ensure I can get a wish off if she were in critical condition. Dragon Pulse and HP Fire let me hit neutral on every pokemon except Heatran and Steel Rock types. She also functions as a Phazer, and her great Special Defense means that those pesky SubMinders don't get to set up and rape the team.
Physical Wall
Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Keen Eye
Nature: Impish
Evs: 252 HP / 64 Atk / 176 Def / 16 Spe
-Toxic
-Whirlwind
-Brave Bird
-Roost
Standard Smogon evs but with a twist in moveset. I'm leaning towards spikes (making it fully standard) instead of Toxic, but in some of my battles being able to poison has shifted the battle a great deal. He phazes in the midst of physical attacks, wheras Latias usually does in the midst of special attacks. This set has done pretty well, but Spikes would make my phazing work so much better. I plan on testing it in the future.
Status Sponge
Machamp @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
Nature: Adamant
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Sp Def
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Dynamic Punch
-Payback
Machamp takes status for the team and covers Latias by providing resistance against some of her weaknesses, not counting a move named pursuit. The extra 4 evs are placed into Special Defense, as outrunning minimum speed blissey isn't necessary (Like it is going to stay in). Payback lets me hit pesky ghost types, especially Gengar, who seems to give this team a lot more trouble than he's worth. Dynamic Punch is pretty much necessary on No Guard Machamp, and the Confusion bonus helps quite a bit.
The Cleric
Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Bold
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 Spe
-Aromatherapy
-Seed Flare
-Earth Power
-Leech Seed
Another status absorber for my team, with Aromatherapy to ensure my team is free of status while I stall. Leech Seed makes stalling a lot more useful, while providing more hp to the rest of my team should I be able to switch and my opponent stays in. Lately, a lot of my opponents seem to forget Shaymin gets Earth Power, allowing me to do a hefty chunk of damage to incoming Heatrans and steels. Seed Flare is just a powerful STAB move, with its side effect forcing more switches.
Overall I think I rely too much on Latias to keep the team stable. I'm thinking about putting Shaymin over to a more Special variant to stop special attacks. The big problems I've seen so far are Gengar, who I have trouble deciding who to put in, and pursuit users who nail Latias and tip my team over, and Zapdos, who can cause havoc for my team if I can't determine if its packing hidden power ice or grass.
I use wi-fi, so when rating don't suggest a rotom form please. Thanks!
