first attempts- OU standard

I've been lurking around for a few weeks trying to put together my first competitive team and this is what I have come up with so far:

and the in depth

Crobat @ leftovers
timid
124 Hp 132 Spa 252 Spe
Hypnosis
Taunt
Roost
Air Slash

Crobat is my lead. He outspeeds almost every other pokemon in the game and can hopefully shut down most SR leads with taunt and hypnosis. Air slash can add to the frustration with a high flinch rate. He also acts as a good counter to fighting and bug with a 4x resist against them. A couple of fairly common leads should be scared off by him as well, like roserade, breloom, and infernape.

Latias @ lifeorb
timid
4 def 252 spa 252 spe
Draco Meteor
Surf
Thunderbolt
Recover

Originally I was planning on going with specsmence, but decided on Latias as a special attacker. Life orb drops its damage slightly but gives much better type coverage and more versitility, hitting every type for at least normal damage. Recover helps with the recoil. With crobat trying to stop the SR I can bring Latias in early and deal out some pain with draco meteor.

Gardevoir @ wide lens
modest
trace
252 HP 48 SpA 176 SpD 32 Spe
Willow O Wisp
Wish
Focus blast
Psychic

My support pokemon. The idea is simple; bring it in with trace then set up on the switch with either wish support, or WoW. Focus blast lets it hit obvious switches like T-tar hard after burning them and psychic is a standard STAB move.

Celebi @ leftovers
timid
252 HP 80 spa 176 spe
Substitute
Leech Seed
Hidden Power Fire
Grass Knot

Celebi being really annoying. It can set up Sub/leech seed with wish support, at which point it becomes really difficult to kill. HP fire and grass knot give it SE damage against some common switches into it.

Swampert @ leftovers
impish
252 hp 4 atk 252 def
Earthquake
Avalanche
Waterfall
Stealth Rock

Swampert gives me SR support, and can take physical hits fairly well. Especially so if Celebi has leech seed set up. He gives my team some much needed physical damage as well.

Infernape @ lifeorb
naive
252 Atk 64 SpA 192 Spe
Close Combat
U-Turn
Mach Punch
Overheart

I actually forgot what my last pokemon would be so I went back and looked over to see what big weakness I had. The words "persuit" and "scizor" came up a lot so I decided to add Infernape in. He hits dark, steel and bug hard, and fleshes out my physical damage typing a little more than only having swampert around.

That is what I have come up with so far, but I'm a big noob and there could be some gaping holes I don't see.

Hello. Interesting team you got here.

On Crobat, I'd move those Special Attack EVs to Attack and replace Air Slash with Brave Bird which is a much much more powerful. I wouldn't be against replacing Crobat completely and making Swampert your lead. This allows you to add another sweeper, such as Lucario perhaps.

Your team has a few Scizor issues, as it can switch in on Gardevoir, Swampert, and Latias fairly easily and do heavy damage with U-turn. Celebi can kill it with Hidden Power Fire but more Scizor these days are aware of this and are more cautious before switching into it. I'd replace Gardevoir with Porygon2, as you have enough Psychic-types, but could use a reliable Gyarados / Salamence check. I suggest P2 because it too has Trace just like Gardevoir.

Porygon2 @ Leftovers
Nature: Bold
EVs: 224 HP / 192 Def / 40 SpA / HP 52 Spe
~ Thunderbolt
~ Ice Beam
~ Hidden Power Fire
~ Recover

This is designed as a Scizor lure. It outspeeds standard Choice Band Scizor will do heavy damage to it with Hidden Power Fire. If you don't think you have a problem with Scizor you can just use the standard ev spread and moveset that is in the analysis.

Also, move the celebi's speed EVs into defense so it has more staying power. This is very useful against many of OUs top threats. Good luck!

I had a question about your input though you said I should put brave bird on crobat, and I did want to, but the article on crobat says "Brave Bird and Hypnosis are illegal together, so you are restricted to the weaker options listed above"(I looked through pages of rules and didn't see why). Does this mean I can use brave bird and hypnosis at the same time, or should I hypnosis with U-turn? I like it because it shuts down the SR user completely for several turns, but it can't be relied on obviously and U-turn protects crobat fairly well.

Those two moves are illegal together because both are egg moves from different parents. I would recommend just using the brave bird setup (brave bird/taunt/roost/u-turn) without hypnosis. It has horrible accuracy and I've missed with it several times.

Another thing is that Gardevoir will have to outspeed T-tar if you want to burn T-tar and use focus blast. This means you'll have to choose one or the other, because you're not gonna get another chance. Also, that Gardevoir is completely walled by Spiritomb.
