First BW RMT (Hyper Offense)

Hello,
I recently got into competitive battling, and I have just transitioned from DPP to BW. Needless to say, the change was quite significant and I'm still adjusting to the new playstyles. I'm not a very experienced team builder, so I realize this team might have some major flaws, but I'm open to any criticism. I'm normally not a hyper offense player but this team happened to turn out this way. So here goes.

Heatran (M) @ Air Balloon
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Stealth Rock

Heatran gets the ball rolling with a quick stealth rock. Fire Blast knocks out anything that doesn't resist it, and Earth Power is a secondary move in case of rain or opposing Heatran. Hidden Power Ice lets me switch in to a Dragon pokemon and KO back with HP Ice. It also counters Gliscor, which causes the rest of my team some trouble.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder Wave

Rotom-W is my counter to a lot of threats. Its main role is to defeat Gliscor, but it can also take out Terrakion. It also can thunder wave for support to Lucario and my other sweepers with middling speed. Thunderbolt and Hydro Pump are the customary STAB attacks, and HP Fire beats Scizor and Forrestress.

Infernape (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Hardy Nature
- U-turn
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge

Infernape is my wall breaker and my main method to get past the pink blobs. Its also a very capable mixed sweeper and has good type synergy with virizion. U-turn provides scouting oppurtunities, while Overheat and Close Combat hit many pokemon with at least neutral damage. Stone Edge kills off Gyrados and other pokemon that resist STAB, although I was considering Mach Punch to take out Terrakion.

Virizion @ Life Orb
Trait: Justified
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Hardy Nature
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Leaf Blade
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Virizion is my physical sweeper and sports decent defense and typing. Close Combat and Leaf Blade are STAB, and Hidden Power Ice 2HKOs Gliscor. As stated earlier, Virizion helps take out the Bulky Water types that shut down Infernape.

381.png

Latios (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Latios is my revenge killer and a lure for pursuits. Its STAB Draco Meteor is absolutely deadly to anything that doesn't resist it, and with a bit of prediction, steels that resist it can be slammed by HP Fire on the switch. Surf finishes out the coverage, and Psyshock is a surprise to the pink blobs, expecting to wall the set.

Lucario (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Steadfast
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Shadow Ball
- Aura Sphere
- Nasty Plot
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Lucario is the premier sweeper of this team. With thunder wave and stealth rock support, Lucario can easily pull off a late game sweep with one turn of setup and a combination of moves. Aura Sphere is very nice with perfect accuracy and decent BP, and combined with shadow ball gives perfect neutral coverage. Hidden Power Ice hits the many flying/dragon type pokemon at the end of the game. Many might switch in to lucario expecting the SD set, and Nasty Plot may take them off guard.

Yay my forst post on Smogon! I am also quite new but I would recomend a few changes . . . first, I would change HP Fire on Rotom-W for Volt Switch. Sure you can't really take out steels but if you volt switch, you can go into Heatran or Infernape depending on the situation. I would also try changing HP Fire on Latias to Trick to cripple Blissey and giving yourself an open sweeper for late game. I know this seems kindd of anti-Hidden Power but I despise not being able to outspeed gengar and I also find myself only using Hp fire on Latios with expert belt to suprise kill Scizor who think I am locked into and Dragon move and scarf sort of defeats that purpose. . . I am a bit inexperienced I know but for my first post I hope this was good advice!

Hey, great team!

Hyper offense is always really fun and I'm glad you are using it! But you do need a bulky Dual Screen user so you're team doesn't die as easily. I suggest replacing Lucario with Dual Screens Espeon. This allows your sweepers to take much more hits. You also don't really need Lucario since your team is filled with Special sweepers. Also, Espeon's ability prevents moves like Taunt, Will-o-wisp, Thunder Wave, Sleep Powder/Spore, and Stealth Rock/Spikes, which are all moves that severly hamper your team. Here is the set:

Espeon-Magic Bounce
252 HP/4 Def./252 Speed
Nature: Timid Item: Light Clay
Reflect
Light Screen
Psychic/Psyshock
Hidden Power Fighting/Baton Pass

I would also consider changing Rotom-W's set for the Choice Scarf variant. This allows you to revenge kill Pokemon and become incredibly fast. It is also part of my belief that every hyper offense should have a Scarfer. Latios shouldn't be used as a Scarfer at all because his wonderful type coverage shouldn't be restrained with a Choice item. So I feel you should change Latios's item to Life Orb. The Life Orb allows you to boost your moves while still allowing you to switch moves. Here is the Rotom-W set:

Rotom-W-Levitate
4 HP/252 Sp. Att./252 Speed
Nature: Modest Item: Choice Scarf
Volt Switch
Hydro Pump
Hidden Power Fire/Ice
Trick

So changes in short:
Change Lucario to Dual Screens Espeon
Change Rotom-W's set to Choice Scarf
Change Latios's item to Life Orb

I hope I helped! I wish you the best of luck on your team!
