ORAS OU First Competitive OU Team

So for the past week I've been working on making an effective OU team. Up until this point I haven't been huge on competition and ladders, just playing for the fun of it. So after a lot of trial and error, I think I may have my first competitive team.

slowbro-mega.gif

Slowbro @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator (Shell Armor)
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 6 SpA
Nature: Calm
- Slack Off
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Psyshock

I originally was skeptical of Megabro being any good as I was unimpressed by his base SpD, I could have never been so wrong. Once he sets up a CM or two, he is virtually impenetrable. As of now I find him to be a great mega-slot as he walls common threats like Talonflame and Gyarados. After a switch he can Calm Mind up and wall most special attackers too, even Rotom-W! Its set is pretty basic, I choose Psyshock over Psychic to hit special walls like Sylveon or Zapdos.

landorus-therian.gif

Landorus-Therian @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 6 HP
Nature: Jolly
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-U-Turn
-Knock Off
I was honestly really reluctant to use this thing on account of its horrible design, but it's what is on the inside that counts. I like using Landy as my lead because he is very common and almost always has Stealth Rock. Most people will try and react with Taunt or something, but suddenly get hit by a powerful banded EQ. I like choosing Knock Off over Superpower to deal with Chanseys as Chansey is a complete deadweight with Knock Off anyway. The rest of his set is pretty basic, all he needs now is to shave that creepy mustache thing.

skarmory.gif

Skarmory @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpD
Nature: Impish
-Stealth Rock
-Defog
-Whirlwind
-Roost
I've had a lot of trouble finding a good set for Skarmory... Originally he had Spikes instead of Defog so he could spread more damage through Whirlwind. I switched to Defog though because I don't want rocks screwing things up, but then I can't pull off Whirlwind as well. So as of right now, Skarmory is sort of a lost cause. He is, however, a very good switch into fighting and fairy types, plus Sturdy really helps out if the opponent begins to sweep and I can just Whirlwind him out.

haxorus.gif

Haxorus @ Life Orb
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 6 HP
Nature: Jolly
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Poison Jab
Haxorus is the Pokemon I've had the most trouble with. I wanted a fast, hard-hitting Dragon type to rip through teams after one setup, and Haxorus does it well. The only problem I'm having is choosing between Haxorus and Dragonite. I really want Dragonite with Weakness Policy because Multiscale makes it MUCH easier to setup as he can absorb hits like a madman. But he becomes totally screwed when against Quagsire or Clefable. Haxorus' access to Mold Breaker allows him to sweep passed petty threats like Clefable and Rotom-W. I choose Outrage on Haxorus because the extra power gets him through most neutral attacks with only one setup, even at the cost of a fairy switch-in.

sylveon.gif

Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 6 SpA
Nature: Calm
- Hyper Voice
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
Sylveon and Blissey are my go-to support Pokemon, and both pretty much do the same thing. I choose Sylveon because of he fairy typing for Dragon switch-ins and her superior offensive capabilities in boosted Hyper Voice. To be blunt, Sylveon is a miracle worker. She can switch in and eat up most attacks like breakfast, then she can Heal Bell my team of burns or paralysis, and finally Wish-switch back, perfectly preparing anyone on my team like it's nothing!

serperior.gif

Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spd / 6 HP
Nature: Timid
- Leaf Storm
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power Fire
- Dragon Pulse
If I could, I would love to add Greninja in this spot, but as most of you should know, he has been banished to Uber territory for some reason. Regardless, I wanted a fast special sweeper and can perform late game sweeps, and seeing how Serperior recently received its wonderful hidden ability, I figured why not? Giga Drain can heal tons of lost health after a couple of Leaf Storms, HP Fire hits common steel types like Scizor, and Dragon Pulse hits dragons who resist the rest of the moves. He can be a beautiful counter to common water types like, but I probably will not keep Serperior here permanently seeing how it is completely useless against the ever-so common Talonflame and Heatran. I was thinking of replacing it with Rotom-W/H or Gengar, what do you guys think?

So this is the team I've come up with, I'm sure it's far from perfect and I implore honest criticisms. I'm somewhat experienced with Pokemon but have never been big competitively so if there are any dumbass decisions I've made that most normal player never use, please tell me! Thanks!

Interseting team but I would change haxorus to kyurem-b because haxorus isn't viable in OU really.

Sets:

Kyurem-Black @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Teravolt
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Outrage
- Ice Beam
- Fusion Bolt/Iron Head
- Earth Power

Reasons: Kyurem-b is a deadly mon in OU right now and its best set is scarf. Outrage is a move with monsterous damage but watch out for fairys. Ice Beam is Kyurem best ice move because for some reson it doesn't learn ice punch. Fusion Bolt is a powerful eletric move but iron head is also good on it for pesky fairies. Earth power is for bisharps that get in the way.
