So this is really my first time trying competitive.
but been playing forver. And any help would be good.

my switch is currently getting fixed so don’t know the natures and etc but i know most

1.) gyarados with life orb
moxie
full attack and speed and 4 hp
waterfall
ice fang
earthquake
dragon dance

hes my sweeper my big guns he’s legit can stand up against most threats and has decent coverage With the ground, ice and water attacks. And with dragon dance obviously it helps make him faster and stronger with life orb and moxie, so it makes him the easiest target for my opponents t want to get him out quic, which doesn’t happen too often.

2.) Grimmsnarl with light vlay
prankster
152 speed, 152 attack and the rest hp
reflect
light screen
spirit breaker
false surrender

ability speaks for himself, while he also sets up the screens and is pretty hefty when it comes to attack usually always start with him

witb him i don’t know if i want to keep false surrender, or if i should teachhim something else, i try to keep the coverages wife with most of my team.so any help here would be gladly taken


3.) Toxapex with black sludge
merciless
full defense and full special defense
toxic spikes
recover
banefull bunker
Poison jab

my defensive guy love having status conditions and he’s a pain in the ass to get rid of. I don’t have regenerator because i rather poison my opponents and use poison jab to do extra damage. Been one of my favorites since he came out i love poison types so

4.) mymiku with focus sash
full attack and speed
swords dance
shadow sneak
wood hammer
play Rough

he’s quick takes a hit and then hits back no more no less, plus coverage is pretty decent.idk if i should keep wood hammer but it def helps with some bulkier hippodown. My problem is trying to find a good item to place on him , because focus sash doesn’t do anything and i want to be ale to use multiple moves.


5.) Cinderace with heavy duty boots
full attack and speed
pyro ball
court change
electro ball
u turn

my steel killer more say and if i see a team that has grimsnarl, or a rock setter i use him to help fix the court back to my favor like everybody else i want to get the hidden ability Cinderace, but he’s still very viable, and fast so he usually helps out speed my opponents just don’t know if i should keep electro ball or


6.) hydreigon with leftover
full speed and special attack
nasty plot
draco Meteor
flash cannon
dark pulse

my late game sweeper nasty strong and usually doesn’t fail with that special attack being raised and a quick draco meteor

been one of my favorite mons since he came out, love the attack and special attack he gets, but i hate how easy he’s taken out to fairy’ types. But with the move set he has its decent coverage.



so far I’ve done amazing with these teams but wouldn’t mind any extra advice.
im usually always starting off with Grimmsnarl, gyarados, and then whoever else i think would help agianst my opponent .

like i said any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated

no point in having electro ball on cinderace, special move, not doing much to anything so maybe sucker punch,

hydreigon struggles a deal with fairies especially the popular clefable so maybe life orb instead with flame over dark to better break through the tier and have a better chance against clef,

wood hammer could prob be replaced with shadow claw or drain punch as seismitoad would most likely go down in usage, also sash is useless since you suffer 12% loss, so maybe life orb instead for more power,

i think pex should rather be a defensive switch in so maybe scald over poison jab,haze over baneful bunker, and regenerator, also hp investment would be a lot better due to being recovering 33% or 50%,

for the likes of ddance dragapult, grimmsnarl should rather run sucker punch since false surrender doesn't really hit anything and thunder wave over spirit break(or over surrender) to para stuff like pult or pex and

gyarados I dont see a reason to run ice fang when you could run bounce to still hit grass and other mons for more damage or sub to setup on status mons or mons that cant break sub like corvi, pex, etc.
 
Mimikyu with sash wont work. Disguise will take away health when hit, making focus sash useless. Since you want ways to get Gyarados in safely, Wish-Teleport Clefable would probably be a better choice.

Cinderace has it's new HA release today so probably want to run that with a choice of High Jump Kick or Sucker Punch over electro ball.

Aurodian already said the other suggestions so try to implement those as well.

yea the cinderace might be better off with a more offensive set with screens, but there is another route you could take with wish clef over grimmsnarl for more longetivity of your mons, but screens and the other offensive mons can work as well

cinderace you think now that the hidden ability is out not to run electro ball? But sucker punch is a good idea

hydreigon i have Gyarados with life orb and you can only use an item once so that’s where i, struggling at. As well as mymimku

with mymiku he would have 2 ghost type attacks which isn’t bad tho, but drain punch never thought of that. I’m just conflicted with the items cause Gyarados makes more sense with life orb

pex, i think bunker will go for haze, i can’t get rid of my poison attack.

so get rid of mymku for clefable? Im not super good when it comes to clefable move sets.

i usually start with snarl set the screens up, and then take moms down until he dies, either go into mymiku, or a attacker then try to finish off with garados..

does clefable have any good offensive attacks that would go well?

im also just waiting to see what comes into the new dlc to add to the team..
 
with Gyarados bounce it could help with his speed and etc when maxing, ice fang gets rid of a lot of pesky things, how well does that usually work a giants a dragapult, etc
 
wait is this for battle stadium, if so I didnt realize, also cinderace special attack is horendous, why would you run electro ball and if it is battle stadium, then I think there clef isn't really the best but I could be wrong, I'm just not used to the format so you can keep your snarl for screens and for your other offensive mons

yes it’s for battle stadium, also for just regular competitive.. No worries I’m still new to competing so.

where are you used to competing?

yeah cinderace special is horrible.. I’m just trying to make it a well balanced team i know i, gonna struggle with the speed against tr
 
Im used to competing in smogon tiers, also sucker would prob be best for cinder with pyro, court change, uturn

i haven’t had a chance to particiapte in the smogon ones yet

im also waiting for the new dlc to see if they add torchic them cinderace will be replaced but that’s a good move.


but what would you suggest i put on mymiku that’s where I’m kinda struggling the most now
 
shaodw claw is fine, you might have a problem with two ghost stabs, but its fine when one is giving priority and the other is stronger

true i try to not run 2 same type moves but shadow claw is good. what about an item for him cause focus sash isn’t going to do a damm thing and life orb has its home with a moxie Gyarados that would be foolish to take that off him
 
I guess you could run spooky plate/spell tag for more power on claw/sneak, don't really see another option unless you wanna take out life orb on gyarados for lefties ig and put life orb on mimikyu
 
ahh never even thought of the plates.. that’s good.
i can’t seem to justifie removing life orb on my biggest hitter.. hes a massive powerhouse without it and with that and dragon dance, and moxie activated makes him one bad dude

i appreciate the advice
